Was the club and ground under one ownership before? Not totally sure, I seem to remember it is under a 100 year lease off the council at not very much money, but they have them permission to develop it and the land next to it with a loan.

Yes literally a peppercorn rent. I think Crawley are on a similar deal. They can improve the ground but not sell it.

But not sure of how that affects the new stands and potential hotels and who profits from that.

The more that goes on the more convinced I am that the club will be taken over or seriously invested in very soon.

Yes literally a peppercorn rent. Literally? How inconvenient - you'd think they would at least use coins.

The more that goes on the more convinced I am that the club will be taken over or seriously invested in very soon. The only thing against that is the fact that DE seems to be seriously getting on with the management appointment. If Sartori or anybody else was in with a serious chance it would make sense for them to appoint t their own manager and for DF to be an interim appointment.

It was a very similar situation. Chippy forced lenegans hand and we had waddock. If this is a move with money surely the best thing would be to get the new manager in with the agreement of the new owner/ investor, it could also be that maps was in the new owners plan, and scuppered it with his move, it could also be that maps was told that a new owner wanted their own man....... Ok they never went to the moon Diana was killed by prince Phillip and Lord Lucan is alive and well and living in Bicester...... There's so much going on I personally still think a deal will be done before the season starts....

I'm looking at the situation and trying to figure out what is going on, same as everyone else , I just think that this still has legs.

I've been wandering for a while now whether either this deal still has legs or if DE turned down sartoris offer because he'd managed to secure additional funding from elsewhere. Brought on by the standard of manager we have allegedly been speaking too.

Is the theory therefore that Eales has used the time to therefore negotiate a better deal for the sale of the club? As that is the only logical reason I could see for Eales to change his mind in such a short time period since he said to the press the deal was not going through. What I did think was it could happen in the future but even then I was thinking more in terms of next summer.

Yes literally a peppercorn rent. Literally? How inconvenient - you'd think they would at least use coins. It's historical. These days it's rarely used in commercial leases. It means no rent and is usually stated as "a peppercorn rent if demanded"

That move has happened purely through links with "superagent" Jorge Mendes, their is deal between Wolves Chinese owners and the Portuguese agent that he can use the club to build up young foreign players before selling them on. Don't know what money Wolves will spend/see out of any deal, but they certainly won't be deciding when he moves on, let alone if.

Er no it gives no idea about next years budget at all. DE's plan when he came in was to get the club to the Championship and he has worked towards that. Sartori's father in law has done pretty well in Monaco on a budget well below most of the big clubs they have competed within the CL (what they have done is to develop young players). So when you suggest that 'the size of budget he was talking about' , that is pure absolute speculation and nowhere did he remotely give an idea of the budget?

He said his plan was to attempt to get us to the premier league. eales has said he couldn't support us in the Championship, so why would his plan still include trying to get us to that stage. Who knows what goes through his mind, leaving quite a few questions unanswered. Maybe you'd like to take your boots along this weekend, we may be able to fill the subs bench then, unless Oxford city have agreed to a 5 a side game.
