Mate you have no idea what players earn and neither do I. But it's pretty clear that Tyler Roberts isn't on 12K a week! He may make it as a footballer, he may not, it's too early to say, but I think we would do best to send him back and get someone with more experience in. It was published in a restructuring statement to shareholders statement in 2013 our wage budget's £70m now, so, could even be more, It's that high to protect the investment in the academy

Now that Yunyi are in control its going to hard to follow our finances Hopefully Williams will keep publishing them

In comparison Real Madrid highly rated wonderkid martin odegarrd who is also 17 and made his first team debut last week signed his new deal on 80k a week

Sorry but this is wrong. Leko, Field and Roberts all broke through into the first team last season. Roberts set up a goal for Rondon against LIverpool. All three signed 2 1/2 pro contracts. because of the sale we only bought in Matt Phillips and Nacer Chadli. The loss of Sessegnon, Anichebe and Lambert, left woefully short of attacking options Forcing Pulis to using the three in a rotating position on the bench. Appleton came to us and asked for Leko. Since Leko was going used as a sub, We loaned Roberts to you paying his wages Roughly £12.5kpw. What "favours" have you do us? He would have trained with the first team like Leko and Field have. Appleton hasn't played him which is annoying because the both times his comeback for 2 PL2 games he's scored in both, the winner in one. The Berahino situation means it was probably a mistake to loan him. I know that James Shan was frustrated by it. This Winter window big for us, I think all three to get loaned if we get the players Pulis wants. If he comes back to you I expect Oxford will be charged loan fees for him No, it isn't wrong. We'd love him to contribute; he hasn't yet. If there was no benefit to Albion, they would not loan him to us. This loan isn't presently benefitting Oxford United in any shape or form. We've a similar situation with Oxford City taking four of our fringe players. I have absolutely no doubt that Ashby, Giles, Cundy and Roberts would be getting next to no football were it not for this loan arrangement, and it is clear that City are 'doing us a favour'. In that case, since some of our players are doing reasonably well it's mutual. It may yet be with Tyler Roberts at Oxford, it just...hasn't been yet. You have totally overlooked the fact that Tyler Roberts coming in has allowed either Roberts or Giles to go out to Oxford City.

And whether the fact has any relevance anyway, is largely contingent on whether the incoming improves upon the outgoing, doesn't it? Which in this case, isn't particularly clear.

I think that's the issue, he is obviously still learning, and it's only his 5th ? Professional league game. He obviously has the talent/potential or he wouldn't be at wba, the difference is they are willing to wait for the potential to develop where as we need to see it, these games he plays for us in the bigger picture don't matter to wba. We're willing to give time and patience to our own youth, James Roberts scored his first goal of the season today despite starting lots for city, in a league however many below us, yet some would have him back in our lineup 2moro. Tyler has a start where he's isolated up too on his own, and people never want to see him play for us again. I think we got a glimpse of what he could do once Taylor came on, will we have the patience to see more of it ? I'm not so sure, I think both parties for different reasons will agree that he hasn't/isn't getting enough game time, and he will return in Jan. Our Youth set up has been recognised as one one of the best in the PL. we are starting to churn out first team quality players, which for us, is great as we haven't had £m's to chuck around. Saido (love him or hate him), Izzy Brown (now at Chelsea), Leko, Field and Roofe are all testament to that. Now with Roberts, he most definitely has the potential. Our Youth coaches rate him more better than they did when Saido was his age, and Saido is a 20 goal a season PL striker. Problem with Roberts is that although he has the potential and has shown it at U16/18 level he is yet to show it or be given the chance at first team level which is why we have let him go on loan, to get that experience and to see if he can actually cut it, so for us it obviously works in our favour. As for Oxford, well MAPP or your scouts have obviously watched him at Youth level and obviously liked what they have seen and heard about him enough to take him on loan. Problem from your perspective is that you are not in the position to carry passengers. You need every player to hit the ground running from the off which Roberts hasn't exactly done for whatever reason. I get that Same thing happened with Roofe. it took him a few loan moves before he found his feet at Oxford and we all know what happened there, and it may be the same for Roberts. Remember he is still only a kid who has hardly played any reasonable amount of football.

Academy games don't mean a thing - the standard and competitiveness of football in L1 is higher. He could score a hat trick every game he went back and it wouldn't make a difference. Roofe had done f*ck all anywhere until he joined Oxford on loan and look what he did for Oxford! Probabkly one of your best players in a decade if not more!

Roberts is here to learn. So as such he will get the odd game or part of a game to help that learning. Unfortunately last night was the last sort of game he should have been selected for. That was a managerial error. Nonsense. If ROberts can't hack it against a National League team, then, frankly, he is wasting everybody's time, including his own. That is EXACTKY the type of game he needs so he can experience muscle and niggles. Frankly, I failt to see how he is an improvement on our own Roberts. Not that I think he's up to it, either. Send him back plse. He can 'learn' somewhere else.

Can the same be said about T. Roberts? I wonder what he'd have learned from Friday? In fact, I'd say he's struggled to learn much since he's been here. P.S. Nobody likes a sarcastic visitor..

Seems like we're giving games to a boy who's far from ready for League 1. Who doesn't seem to be improving to me (altho being played ludicrously out of place on Friday won't have helped), shame we haven't got a young player to chance (or have we?), because if we did I'd have this Roberts out the door like a flash.

Loans can work for you and against you sometimes. It seems as though Roberts's loan spell isn't working out and you'd be correct in ending the loan in Jan based on what has happened so far. Can't argue with that.
It's Robert's first outing (bar a couple of minutes as sub for us) at a league club and as I said previously, Roofe went on loan to four different clubs before landing at Oxford. At each of his previous loans he did exactly naff all, but it would have contributed to him being as good as he was at OUFC.
Same as Saido Beharino. He went out on loan to three different clubs before he hit his good prolific spell in our first team and up until August was still valued at £20m plus.
Roberts is quality, there is no doubt about that. It just hasn't worked out for him at Oxford which is a shame. Maybe the loan can a bit too early for him

Appleton has come out today to say that he's like Roberts to stay beyond January but that it's up to the player to make a decision ("It may come down to Tyler himself and whether he's happy enough") which clearly shows how much potential our manager sees in him, even if he hasn't exactly shone so far. Roberts himself gave a typically media-trained positive albeit evasive answer when asked about this today ("Yeah, it's nice. It's a good club") so it's unclear as to whether he's happy with the limited opportunities or success he's had so far. Personally, I would trust the management on this one if they want him to stay until the summer and a deal can be done, as long as we reenforce further up top, as has been suggested.

I think Roberts will be a good footballer I just think we have him a little early for the hustle bustle of a team freshly promoted and looking to bed lots of new players in. He will improve over the season but will it be enough to be of use to our campaign now when it is needed. To some extent the experienced pro's who may take him under their wing are maybe what we lack right now and the type of player he may be making space for if he goes.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing but personally I'd have given Maguire a rest and gone with Taylor/Roberts. It matters little now but certainly no need to scapegoat a particular player after a flat performance from 9 or ten players on the day.

It could have worked out (Jordon Graham worked out really well when he was here). I reckon that MAPP probably wants to use Roberts more in the second half of the season if he wants to keep him, but to date he hasn't shone at all when he has played (and he has played JPT games plus the FA Cup game and he has come on as substitute in a few league games). He missed a sitter at Bristol Rovers and had that gone in then maybe his confidence would have been boosted. Maybe he is simply a little too early on in his development to be of real use to OUFC and he isn't getting the game time that he would have wanted?

Roberts is still only a kid. 17 years of age. As Baggs will confirm when he had the few sub appearances at ours in the Prem, he looked quality when he came on, so it is puzzling as to why he is not producing in Div 1.
Without being disrespectful maybe one of the reasons could be the level of professionals he is working with? At WBA he would have been talked through the game every minute he was on the pitch by some very experienced Pro's like Darren Fletcher, Johhny Evans etc. Oxford, I feel, don't have that level of expertise on the pitch so as a very raw 17 year old, maybe he still needs to be talked through the game?

I have it from a dear friend that the 2 things were: - Dragon tattoos - all that?
- Is it worth spending £688 on a Neff T41D82X2 Electric Induction Hob when a Neff T11D41X2 Ceramic Hob, Black Glass gets the job done more or less as well at £308 less.
It's not giving too much away to say that these are John Lewis prices (excluding installation and removal of the old device) as Apples refuses to even hear the word Argos after the unfortunate incident there with Crowley.

The induction hob is a pain in the arse. Every time you lift the pan to toss, swirl, or turn your food, it goes off. Also you need a whole set of new pans as your old ones won't work on an induction hob. I bet Nigel at John Lewis didn't tell you that!?!?!? Ceramic all the way.

Here in Jellystone National Park there's no electric, so the question is academic as far as I'm concerned. But then I doubt being shot by hunters is a major concern for you.
That's the beauty of this supporters' forum, diversity. And ursine-friendliness, obvs.
