Well done him. I couldn't be more proud. Oh no, hang on, just realised that I couldn't give 2 shits!!! Similar to the way I feel about your pointless opinions. Hit a nerve! Not me. Genuinely couldn't care less!!

The web-site of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, I believe. Used to be a major regional paper group; with a morning paper, The Journal, and a Saturday Green & Pink issue. I only mention it because that's a p*ss-poor article from what I perceive to be their 'name reporter'.
"So was John’s price too high? Don’t the U’s rate him? Or did they hope to get him for less?" Dunno mate. Why didn't you ask? Then you could have had a piece of news rather than re-cycling information you might well have gleaned from this august forum.
They are actually good questions IMO, but that article's about as illuminating as a candle in the Backworth Colliery. And I do feel sorry for Campbell, too.

In my opinion, John Campbell wasn't "suited" to the life down here, playing football. It didn't fit well, with him?
I think family might also have played a part in that. But seeing him on Yellow Player in an interview? -- he looks and sounds SO DOUR!

The grammar and sentence construction was painful, let alone the whimsical "look at me" nature of the author. Northerners ;-)

My brain hurts.....On balance his return is a good thing, give him a fair opportunity to show what he is capable of.

Good luck to the lad, from the outside looking in he doesnt appear to have done much wrong. Have no idea whats been going on (or not) but as others have said first impressions are the club dont look great in this instance.

Seems we have pretty much ended up with the deal we wanted, extended loan till the end of the season when we will make up our mind.

Also in talks with York according to someone with good connections at Bootham Crescent. They offered Jarrow a deal before he signed for us in the first instance as well.
If he was affected by distance away from family as was hinted at by some of the apparent ITK types, then York may stand a better chance than us this time around.

If it's York he could end up with trips to Alfreton and Lincoln. I think we will get him back Did well in the relatively short time he was here

You would think the failure to capture Barnett would reopen Campbell's opportunity
Sounds like the club aren't 100% convinced about him tho
He would need to make more of an impact when he does get on

I don't know why we don't offer him a year or 18 month permanent deal. Send him on loan to the conference until the end of the season and let him have a full pre season with us and a real shot at it next season.
Of course I'm assuming he would be on a cheap deal. It's not his finishing he will need to work on. He will need to develop his touch, vision and reading of the game.

He would need to make more of an impact when he does get on That's the bit I just don't get. Having made a 45 minute debut at Hartlepool, he came off the bench at Plymouth and scored. Next time out he came of the bench at home to Cheltenham and 'nearly' scored. Then did he ever played again? That seems quite a reasonable impact.

Maybe a bit controversial but it's quite nice for us to be the bigger club throwing our weight around and playing a bit of hardball to get what we want. See it so often with clubs bigger than us, to clubs of our size or a bit bigger.
It's business, use the tools you have to get the best deal. People saying we look unprofessional and have acted badly, it's life and we got what we wanted in the end so all is good.

I think appleton is referring to his general contribution By all accounts he never got a touch at Hartlepool and was taken off at HT Now every striker can point to service but clearly appleton was expecting more of s contribution to the team on open play

Professionalism depends on how honest we've been with jarrow and Campbell, which none of us know
If we've been transparent throughout, nothing wrong with that
If we've pulled the wool over their eyes, reputations are hard won and easy lost

I'd like to see him get a proper opportunity. Given that it's tough moving from home, playing for a club struggling to stay in the league and trying to fit in with a coach who has not got a clear system it cannot have been easy.

I'm sure you'd know if he was - the club would have announced it.
Therefore, he isn't.

Without looking through the thread and I can't remember if it was or not, but did the club announce him leaving? If not then, they may just consider a continuation of the same deal, so no need if he is back.

He isn't back.
Even without the club announcement, you would know because many would already be on here telling us about his Whatsapp, Facebook, Snapchat streams, followed by long statements pleading for him to be treated fairly for the sake of humanity.

What the f*ck was the matter with Campbell? Where the hell did he go wrong? I think he scored in nearly every game he played in, didn't he? (yes, a lot were dev. games - I know)
