What a sorry end to all of this.
We claim we're making bids for players like Barnett and then playing a sly game to get other players. Whilst this might initially be viewed as a one-off, we can't afford to mess everyone around when it comes to transfers or else we get a reputation for this sort of thing.

Disappointed with the club, Either stick to the agreement or end it, don't try to change it to suit. Bad business skills.

Rumours of 500k or even say 100k for barnett sent the sign out to Jarrow that the club owners had money to splash and why wouldn't they want some?

I bet Jarrow won't be disappointed to have him back, especially as he'll be a lot fitter than he was when he left. But let's see what happens, you can't believe everything you read in the papers. If he wasn't good enough you wouldn't have expected us to want to keep him till the end of the season. All a bit strange.

What are we playing at, Hoskins out for feb, unless we do sign one or two good strikers we are looking short at top let alone in the middle of the park

Things don't look good now, Surely the board must sign another striker let alone a quality midfielder.

If it's true that we tried to change the terms of the original deal, then in my opinion that's shows us in a very bad light.

Obviously we don't know for sure- all I would say is that if he was going to be the striker we need then I'm sure he wouldn't have been let go. It could be looked at from an angle that we have someone better lined up?

Whatever the truth, those stories don't show the club in a good light. I'd hope they would explain what's been happening at some point. If we are seen as a club that tries to change the terms of agreements already made, then other clubs might be wary of dealing with us.

Obviously would like to understand both sides or 3 sides to the story, but whatever its's still another shambolic situation. It does look more and more like we are being run (and I don't mean owned) by the chuckle brothers. I also wonder if this will influence current or potential signings.

I'm sorry, but what part of the way we are run constitutes anything other than an incredibly professionally organised and well thought out club. The PR? The fact that we're able to keep transfers secret? The fact that we've got the best working situation we've had with Kassam in years? Or is it the fact we've been signing Championship/League 1 level players? Maybe it's the fee-paying transfers most likely coming out way...

There are many different opinions and I do not consider we have the best working situation we have had in years. The Fan base us so fragmented due to results and mgt decisions and if anyone thinks that everything is okay they are deluded,

Another example of us treating players poorly. Morris, Jakubiak, Howard, Hunt, Brown, Newey, Potter, etc. Is it a wonder why we're struggling to sign players on permanently or players (Riley) don't fancy returning.

How have we treated those players poorly? Because we didn't play them incessantly and offer them longer contracts despite their repeated underperformance.

Every so often we hear a comment like that from the club but what is the proof of improving relations?

What evidence do you have that we treated players poorly? Morris and Jak didn't do enough to prove themselves and are now struggling to get into york's and daggenhams team. Howard didn't do enough in games and is now playing in a league below. Brown told the manager to F off, if i told my manager to f off then i would be sacked. Hunt and Newey didn't fit into MApps style so were moved on - thats the business of football. Potter admitted he needes a fresh start and said it is down to him to sort his head out. We offered Riley a deal but he got a offer from a club 6 miles from his home, we can't move the city of oxford to bolton. In the mean time we have got THD who is a very good player, just signed 2 highly regarded players from the championship and have put a very good offer to buy Barnett but are up against players in higher leagues.

Yes, and while we're at it why didn't MApp change the rules of football so that we could play all of our players in all of the games so they could all be treated well? Another nail in his coffin.

In the mean time we have got THD who is a very good player, just signed 2 highly regarded players from the championship and have put a very good offer to buy Barnett but are up against players in higher leagues. I wonder why Brown told Appleton to f*ck off (by the way how do you know that's true?) Hunt, Newey and Howard suddenly not even in the squad, next minute two of them shown the exit door with the other leaving shortly after. Morris and Jakubiak wanting to leave. Potter not finding his firm which was no wonder after it was disclosed that he'd out the door come January which was prior to his come back after injury. Like I've said before for some reason I still want Appleton to succeed, but he has made a bit of a hash of managing some players. Let's hope that Collins isn't next! Add to this, I was talking to a Pompey fan the other day who's in their fan trust to some capacity and we got talking about Appleton, well let's just say there seemed to be a lot of comparisons e.g. Pissing/messing players off/about, playing players out of position, poor man management etc. I asked him about Awford, and his reply was he'd rather have him as their manager than Appleton. Report so far for Appleton, steep learning curve, hopefully learnt by mistakes, need to do better, but....
