How nice of our very own TheSecretPoster to put this on the LCFC forum - well out of order mate - these things get turned into false news and you seem to be suggesting YOU are ITK. What a tosser if this is now suddenly reported as "fact" and no one joins us pre season. Proud of yourself you bell end?
Oxford fan in peace. You've managed to bag yourself a hell of an assistant here. He's been the best manager I've seen us have in my time watching us at least. He's transformed us as a team, attracted some amazing talent from the Premier League down and been an all round great gaffer. I've seen a few on here say he's taken us as far as he could. That's simply not true. He was promised an increase in playing budget which hasn't materialised. As good as our chairman has been for us (who came in at the same time as MApp) he's openly admitted he would struggle to sustain us any higher than the Championship and even turned down a bid to buy the club (a mistake in my eyes) from a lad called Juan Sartori who openly said he would put money into us. This isn't a witch hunt for him though. I personally feel old Voldemort was promised funds that the chairman couldn't deliver on, couldn't strengthen the squad after letting a fair few go and couldn't see a future with us. It's a damn shame but I guess that's football. A lot of our our fans have said it doesn't make sense to leave a managers position to become an assistant in the Premier League but let's not forget it's the best league in the world, of course it's a step up. I'm honestly gutted to see him leave as I know every Oxford fan is. However for 500k a year and the chance to be part of a Premier League set up he'd be mad not to take the position. I just hope it's not the start of a downfall for us! Anyway, best of luck next season with him as number 2 and I hope I see you lift the champions trophy again with an Oxford legend helping along the way

It's a job for an experienced head imo. I don't think chucking Crissy Allen in will be the answer. I think it needs to be someone who is proven at this level or certainly someone with a good cv.
I'f our ambitions are playoffs or above then Danny Wilson is a Huge no no. His playoff record is horrendous.
I'd like to see someone like Uwe Rosler. Did a good job at Brentford. Proved he can work on a budget with Fleetwood. His style may not come across as eye catching from last seasons matches against Fleetwood, but perhaps that's because the players he had at his disposal weren't good enough to play quick passing, and counter attacking football. It was however effective, as there league position showed.
That would be my choice anyway.

Off the top of my head, using Mapp as the blueprint...
Er....Adkins...McDermott...O'Driscoll
It would have to be an out of work guy I'd have thought.
The bottom line is that everyone in football, just like us, will look at this move and think 'blimey, that's a bit odd?'

From speaking to people in the game then Jimmy Floyd would be my top option. Highly regarding by players and staff working under him that he is one of the best managers to have at a club.

Have always wanted him here. But he has lost his way, horribly. About seven years ago Wenger wanted him as No 2 to groom him to take over. times change

I stand corrected. Thank you for the clarification. I knew he had two successive promotions. Think there may be some surprise people in the running. Micky Mellon .... Must be devastated at getting 95 points and losing out Keith Hill of Rochdale Paul Tisdale Paul Lambert looking for a fresh challenge Glenn Hoddle. Lots of experience but not recent Graham Alexander...has to be one of the best in the lower leagues Personal choice would be Graham Alexander. Brilliant with Scunthorpe on a small budget. Could go one better with United Keith Hill not coming to Us, he will be happy at Rochdale. Tisdale - is that a joke... not sure he isn't who I want to see manage us. Hoddle - scum links, so no way. alexander - not sure would come here. What ever happened to the guy wearing suits who manage Accrington? He was bloody good up there and was considered before MAPP got the job.

Beattie is a definite yes from me. Coach at Swansea and Leeds for the past two seasons, so will have some good connections. Can even get Roofe back for us

If there are to be new owners this week, as some have alluded to on here, they may want to bring their own management team in. Maybe the meetings last week were called by MA who feared for his position under new owners. The fact that there have still been no signings may suggest that the buyout is still live. I have to say, I think they may be something in this. John Collins was rumoured to be our new Manager if Sartori bought us...... Look who we have just signed an "up and coming" young player from...... Maybe putting 2 + 2 together and getting 50,000? Just saying.

It's patently obvious that we're about to witness the second coming of Gary Waddock.
At least we'll also get Hylton back again.
