Don't want McDermott as he is tainted by his association with the plastics.
How about Peter Leven, done his coaching badges and has been on the coaching staff at Kilmarnock for a couple of years. He can literally do what he wants!

I'd sooner have a manager who is competent with spells at Swindon or Reading over someone who isn't.
You do know football is just a job you know? We thankfully don't have the babyish sectarian lines between us and Swindon that Celtic and Rangers have.

What about Mark Sampson who is currently in charge of the Women's national team. Very highly rated in the game.

"Sectarianism is a form of bigotry, discrimination, or hatred arising from attaching relations of inferiority and superiority to differences between subdivisions within a group" Well if you look at this part of the definition of Sectarianism, "from attaching relations of inferiority and superiority" I'd say we as fans (especially on this forum) are sectarian (regarding the six fingered inbreds from pighill . Sir Maurice Evans was a Reading player before he came to us. Joey played for the scum. So as McDermott played for us(even though he was shite) before managing the plastics,i wouldn't have a problem with him. Their is no chance of Hoddle coming here so talk of him is irrelevant.

I'm more concerned about the style McDermott has played at his last couple of jobs. Boring personified.

Very highly rated in the game. but the womens team are rubbish Yeah, you're right, there's been far too much progress in the modern game. Women? English women? Getting to the Semi Finals of a World Cup? Pull the other one mate, get them back in the kitchen! Let's leap back into the dark ages, that's where football was REAL football. Let's return to the world of Graham Rix and Brian Talbot. Better still, has anyone got Mike Bassett's number? Twonk

You know how sometimes a club gets a pre-season friendly as part of a transfer deal? and we are playing Lincoln away.

Not a big fan of the man to be honest but I notice that Jimmy Ryan hasn't resigned for Fleetwood - now, he's a player I'd take. Good solid performer at this level.

Bloody hell!! Go off on a two week holiday, come back and the club is suddenly in turmoil!!
First of all, goodbye and good luck to MAPP. One of the best managers we've ever had. Like the majority I'm surprised to see him leave us to move to an assistant manager role, but I get the feeling this is a stepping stone to something bigger and better. Being in the EPL will raise his profile, and I reckon he will be managing a EPL/high profile Championship team within the next 18 months.
As for our next manager, who knows? I'd like to see another young ambitious manager (basically another MAPP!) Alex Neil who was Norwich manager last season wouldn't be a bad shout. Karl Robinson formerly of MK Dons could be another option, or Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink I think would be a popular choice.
Certainly going to an interesting few weeks on these here forums!!

I'd be interested in somebody like Kevin Phillips. Was a great pro, worked really hard and is beginning to make a name in coaching. Current assistant and Derby and could be looking for that first step. With DF's knowledge, support and contacts - this could work well.
Other head coaches I would be interested in:
Cowley brothers Ryan Giggs could be worth a shot (but seems to be looking for Premier League) James Beattie

I think we ideally need to be looking at a manager who would be happy with around 300k a year.

It's a job for an experienced head imo. I don't think chucking Crissy Allen in will be the answer. I think it needs to be someone who is proven at this level or certainly someone with a good cv. I'f our ambitions are playoffs or above then Danny Wilson is a Huge no no. His playoff record is horrendous. I'd like to see someone like Uwe Rosler. Did a good job at Brentford. Proved he can work on a budget with Fleetwood. His style may not come across as eye catching from last seasons matches against Fleetwood, but perhaps that's because the players he had at his disposal weren't good enough to play quick passing, and counter attacking football. It was however effective, as there league position showed. That would be my choice anyway. Rosler would be a great shout. Buuuut he's just signed an extension at Fleetwood. And they have a sugar daddy and run at a massive loss each year.....looking at their financial press releases, it's likely that they actually have a higher wage bill than us, despite their tiny crowds.
