Hardly proof that MApp will be off which was what your 'mood music' was implying! And how are DE's comments vague, yet Lundstam and Maguire so much more convincing? Nope. You're missing out a chunk here. I haven't said that the mood music is saying that MApp is off. What I have said is that when you put all the various comments together, the clear inference is MApp saying "If I don't get an appropriate budget to challenge next season, then I'll be off..."

What I have said is that when you put all the various comments together, the clear inference is MApp saying "If I don't get an appropriate budget to challenge next season, then I'll be off..." And the equally clear inference is that DE has given that budget. It has also been stated from day 1 that the business model is to buy young raw talent, sell at a profit and buy bigger and better players. So the idea that we may sell to strengthen isn't new. Mood music hasn't changed!

Mapps to be given a top 6 budget. That's more than enough to be competitive, bring in a few new faces to what we already have, and we will be serious contenders imo.

Based on the oxford mail and bbc sport reports, I think it sounds safe to say MAPP sees his future here with us, at least for another season. Hopefully this also means Maguire commits to a new contract for another season as well. With budgets agreed, the retained list due to be announced, and MAPP suggesting that he wants to get his transfer activity done as early as possible, who else thinks we might get news of a first summer signing by the end the week?! Possibly a free transfer like raglan, would think bigger target will have to wait until a player going out has been agreed bulky the sounds of that article

Question ? Why do we say "Alfred Lord Tennyson" We don't say Alan Lord Sugar ! According to google: The simple answer is... Alfred Tennyson was created a hereditary baron, 1st Baron Tennyson. Barons are known by their title, Lord Tennyson, preceded if necessary by their Christian name. The same applies to current Life Barons, who are not created with hereditary titles. Thus it's John, Lord Prescott of Kingston-upon-Hull. Sons of hereditary peers are given a courtesy title. The sons of barons, that being the lowest order of the peerage, are simply known as The Honourable. Alfred's son was The Hon Hallam Tennyson until Alfred died, after which he became Hallam, 2nd Baron Tennyson, or simply Hallam, Lord Tennyson. The eldest sons of higher ranks of the peerage generally get a courtesy title (the eldest son of a Duke will be granted the use of an Earl's title, and so on). Subsequent sons are known as Lord, using the family surname. The second son of one of the Dukes of Devonshire would be [for example] Lord James Cavendish. It's not correct to call that person "Lord Cavendish". Thus it's possible to distinguish between Lord James Cavendish as coming from a higher rank of the peerage than Alfred Lord Tennyson. For a more complicated answer with all the intricacies of the peerage, you will need to consult a reference like Debrett's. What is the benifit to the majority of the poulation to have people with titles? Why do we still support a Royal family? Why do decedent's get to hang off of the coat tails of their parents? IMO we should disband all of this antiquated rubbish.

I actually think this is just what he needs, that extra boost with the budget and I reckon he will get us pushing for automatic promotion. There I have said it, not sitting on the fence. I'm fully behind him and reckon he will get us promoted next year. Roll on August 5th.

I think with all the current uncertainty around the club at the moment, any sound bites will be received as encouraging. Still wait for a formal statement from the club than the media putting their twist on the situation.

Voted 17th best in the EFL so my guess needs another year before right up there. Dont think DE announces new money without being sure hes here. New contract maybe - agreement that he can talk to bigger clubs in higher league only but a hefty fee if he leaves. Increase his wages, put loads of performance related bonuses in and sign him up for 3 years. DE may announce this knowing he is selling - thats how it came across to me. Onward an upward - our released list is stronger and stronger every year.
Mapp new contract McAlany to sign on free Serce to kiss and make up and come back and let your football do the talking Marv and Dunks to leave, Raglan in with McGinn and Mags to stay - think Wes would need to come back firing on all to get int this team and Hemmings needs to show more. Think we need an Everton LB and someone fresh up front and a CB as cover. Everton again I dare say Expect to see more of Rothwell and for Ruffs to really develop this year and be high value at the end of the term

Glad to see the usual 'experts' on here have got the situation hopelessly wrong again! I respect others opinions but it does annoy me how people look at the tiniest hint of something out of the ordinary to drive their own agendas. Myles was talking about the mood music being clear on the back of Lundstram and Maguire showing support for the manager. It will be interesting to hear what he thinks of the 'mood music' currently being played loud and clear? How's that mood music this morning then 😉 maybe you should listen to some experts. Tiny hint out of the ordinary, like a bid being made for the club, and meeting stadium owner this week.

I believe that the only way Appleton is only going to leave this club right now is if a new owner shoves him out.

My wife showed me the post on Mapp going to Watford. The only time he is likely to go there is to get his millionaire's cheque from the UK Lotto office.
I love pre-season, so many rumours so much b*ll&cks to read and enjoy....
