Johnson's having a good game leave him alone We're winning 3-1 and home and dry. It's because he's having a good game and is our best player at the moment that he should come off. On that note, not sure about the logic of putting Maguire on, maybe to play him back into some form? I'd imagine he was in Appleton's ear on the bench.

whatever you think of the competition (i for one am boycotting) tonight must be seen as pretty much the perfect evening for us going forward. skarz and sercombe both seen back for the first time after lengthy injuries, players like rothwell who don't often get a run out at the minute get some good match minutes to keep their sharpness ticking, johnson and hall seem to have shown that they are getting better and better and our supposed main goalscorer shows he suddenly seems to be in pretty damn good form. maybe being dropped for taylor spurred him on a bit. will be interesting now to see who starts on saturday, given both him and taylor are playing well (can anyone there comment on if they linked up well as a strike pairing tonight?). maguire to the wing?
whisper it, but I'm starting to get that feeling I had for most of last year again. we have lost one game since november 12, we are knocking teams in higher divisions out of cups and our players all seem to have finally gelled, to devastating effect. players like johnson and hall are proving game changers, lundstram is running midfields again and our central back three are as solid as you could want. I'm getting that feeling that we could beat pretty much anyone we play and I have confidence in all areas of the team for the first time since wycombe in may. it's all getting very exciting...

Surely all these empty grounds in the early rounds would of put the message across. Wembley attendance won't matter at all to there thinking as they know people will support there side at Wembley with the day trippers on top. The damage has already been done to them, so as long as a under23 side doesn't make it to the final I'd say it's job done. If they want it to carry on next year it will do. So we might aswell go support our beloved yellows from now on. It's not the players fault, imagine what Hemmings feels like scoring a hatrick in front of the lowest ever crowd at the ground. I really hope people will show there appreciation to the players/mapp/DE by turning up now.
If we get a home draw next round why not offer season ticket holders free entry if they buy a programme. Would boost the crowd and make some money too, not loads but something.
I for one hope we make it to the final. Did us no harm last year did it?!

I was thinking that we must be up there. Crikey. I can't imagine our team - who we've supported so well home and away, all season - going to Wembley and seeing 1,000 Yellows there. That would be massively disrespectful to them, surely?

Our potential quarter final opponents... Swansea U-21 Coventry City Luton Town Mansfield Town Wycombe Wanderers Yeovil Town Cheltenham Town or Bradford City And (obviously) final opponents. Anyone scared of that lot (excl. Swansea U-21)?

IF we get to Wembley.... I will only go if it is against a REAL team - not if it ends up being vs Swansea U23. Also, a televised final could be an opportunity to display some banners / flags saying what we think of U23 football. A nice idea, but do you really think anyone would get in with anything displaying an anti EFL/FA/PL message into Wembley? I highly doubt it

I'm genuinely disappointed in how soft some people are being on this. Do you genuinely think the B Team idea has been scrapped for good? They will keep coming back to try to impose the will of the PL on the lower leagues. I heard from a journalist that works for sky that the general feeling within the EFL is that the changes introduced this year are being gradually accepted and the boycott stance has been softened. Couldn't ever bring myself to contribute to this. Enough dumb people out there will think 'oh but you've got to support your club at wembley' I'll support my club at Wembley. Just not with the competition in its current incarnation I'm not dumb. I'm an intelligent 53 year-old man who applies his intellect to every decision he makes. I'm going if it's an option. Climb down.

I've watched all the games except Chelsea and Southend away.
The fringe players have done us proud. The football in the main has been very entertaining.
Can't wait to go to Wembley again.
Taylor and Hemmings looked a great combination up front. I hope Mapp uses them as a pairing in the league with Maguire inside left/right.

If we get to Wembley then I predict 90% of the contributors to this thread will he there.
Missed the game tonight, seems like it was entertaining.
I have said throughout the season that we will do well.
We've just gubbed so called Super Scunny 4-1. This team is going places.
COYY.

I wish the team all the best but I'll be boycotting every game no matter what. I don't mind those who were anti boycott from the start, but those who change their minds halfway through? Just stick to your word either way. If my friends and family, and other supporters I know are anything to go by, I think we'd take 15-20 thousand to Wembley if we get there, maybe fewer.
Also well done Hemmings. Hopefully he can push on from here and have a decent spell. I'm still unsure about him but goals is goals.

I'm pointing out that we have a squad of players, who train f*cking hard. And if they got to Wembley we should support them. Screw the politics. And no offence taken.

Kept quiet until now but blood is starting to boil!
"You weren't at (read any league away game) so your not a real fan" "I'd go to Wembley, but none of the other games" "Checkatrade not important, I won't go to a game"
So here's how I see it. OUFC didn't make the rules! It doesn't really matter what any of us think, the FA will always do its own thing. Not going to watch your team because of something out of its control is frankly pathetic. Personally I am proud to have watched 'my team' .... Whatever the competition and whatever the crowd ..... 2017 is no different to 2016 ..... I had a 10 hour round journey to watch 2016 quarter final at Dagenham and joined the 256 (if memory serves correct) ..... How we got to 33k at Wembley is beyond me......was there a boycott then? Did I miss something?
Stop ******* bitching and get behind the U's .......
Still a long way to go but if and when we do 'go back' to Wembley I doubt it'll be against the last U21 team (Swansea) ...... Cos let's face it the other 15 have been pretty shite. A good old L1/L2 clash is more likely and I suspect the FA have already decided to revert the format anyway .........
For reference I have only missed 3 games all season and that includes Wimbledon (H) where I took advantage of the TV and saved a 400 mile round trip so please don't throw the "we're you at?" Card at me
COYY ....... In any tournament 😉

Great result last night. That's the main thing. Must admit, I'm now one of those 'stay at home supporters' - haven't been to a single match all season, home or away. I'm finding it tough to stay away, but I'm sticking with the checkatrade boycott, even if we go to Wembley. If they relocate the final to somewhere closer, say, in Malaysia, I might reconsider though....... PS. It's annoying that us exiles don't get FA cup and other non-league matches on YP ... Grr...

I've been saying this from the start - but what makes you think that the Premier League, Football League or FA care in any way whatsoever whether the lower league fans are turning out for this competition? In short - they don't. All that has interested the Premier League is the chance to use the competition as a vehicle to give their kids a runout against decent opposition. All that has interested the rest is the possibility that the Premier League might give them some more cash. The very low crowds this competition usually attracts in its early stages have become very, very low crowds - but in the grand scheme of things, that is pretty meaningless to all involved. What has doomed this experiment from the start is not the boycott, but the fact that Arsenal/Man U/Man City/Liverpool/Spurs decided they couldn't be bothered to take part......... So I would suggest that anyone that doesn't go and see their team at Wembley (and hopefully it's us) is really hurting no-one but themselves, and robbing themselves of a fun day out.

Im betting that with a decent draw at home in the quarter final,we will beat the crowd that turned up in the equivalent round against Yeovil (2,532) last season. All this talk about empty grounds, boycotts, fans talking with there feet makes me laugh, people mocked the paint pot trophy and attendances were awful. The equivalent round last season, pre boycott,at Dagenham, was 1,011,last night 1,383. IF we get to Wembley we wont take as many as last season,if it had still been the paint pot trophy im pretty sure we wouldnt have taken as many as last season, people have had there away day/first visit/family day out.

Being totally honest, having been to Wembley last season when it was still a pretty pointless competition, it was a decent enough day out but was essentially just a p*ss up, the football was pointless. Add in the fact it's now a joke of a competition, that compared to missing just one game in the run up to Wembley last seaon I won't have been to a game this one, that I have been to Wembley plenty of times so it holds no appeal, plus that their will only be about 40,000 there at best, then not going to Wembley will be easy. If I want to get p*ssed I can do that anytime, for a lot less money. Surely the point of going to Wembley is that their is some hard work in getting there and it's an achievement, and the result matters when you do get there, if we won this I wouldn't even recognise it as a trophy, no more than if we had won the Simod cup years back.

I wasn't totally against the idea of the introduction of B teams, purely because I couldn't see it going any further than this competition. Plus, the competition needed some injection of new ideas as attendances weren't exactly great. B teams (Swansea aside) have now been knocked out, let's move on. The trial has failed, its extremely unlikely to continue next season. can premiership teams really claim that this will help the Natinal set up any longer?
Finally, who really cares about the national game anymore? It's not the pinnacle of the sport for me anymore, with qualifying being a breeze and the main competitions, euros and world cups now have far too many nations at the finals. Give me the Olay offs for entertainment every time.

It's so shortsighted to say we have 'no control'. Yes, the PL will always try to impose their will regardless of public opinion. They do it to fans of their own clubs let alone fans of lower league teams. However, the Football League does not have to accept it. If they are shown that the implications of their decision to roll over for the PL can be huge, they will think twice about doing so. By attending these games, you're telling the EFL that you're okay with their decision. In a few years time, when we end up missing out on promotion because a B team filled with young foreign internationals gets there ahead of us, I'll look back to this competition and shake my head at anyone that attended a match.

Lowest ever attendance at the Kassam last night, lowest ever crowd in a game vs Swindon last year. Shows what a lot of the crowd thinks of the competition and good for them.
No doubt we'd take a few to Wembley but I'd expect far fewer than last year, which would be a disappointment. But unfortunately the club and the league have made their bed and they'll have to lie in it. The fans staying away won't be the main influence on the final decision but I'm proud of those who've said what they think of it by staying away.
