I'm still wondering what the Mill Cup is and when we won it? You must remember us grinding qpr down

The line up has more variance. We had Root and Bairstow at 4 and 5 earlier in the summer and a whole bunch of lefties. Anyway, not sure what the point of day night test cricket is when test grounds over here are usually sold out, or near capacity. Unless you use the old Olympic stadium and get a big capacity, it feels redundant other than as a spectacle Agree with you about day/night tests over here, but I think this one was just because of the day/night test in the ashes this winter, we didn't want our first experience of it to be in Australia.

Not English, but Lara, Clive Lloyd, Sobers and Allan Border could all hold a bat despite their left-handedness. Wasn't Pollock a leftie as well?

Suspended? We didn't sign him until 6 months after that game, he'd have been a Newport player... It was a 3-1 victory over Newcastle in the third round 1985-86 Blimey, I'd forgotten that one. I can remember the 83/4 one clearly. Humble apologies Bazzer.

Spoke to John Aldridge in McDonalds the day after we beat Newcastle in the Milk Cup he was with a woman I assume wife/Girlfriend and talking to him about the great result the night before, then it dawned on me he was suspended for the game and managed to save face I think by saying it was a shame you weren't playing. Phew Suspended? We didn't sign him until 6 months after that game, he'd have been a Newport player...

Didn't Sheff Utd have a bit of a dodgy start last season? Didn't stop them running away with it.

From what I remember, we were unbeaten at home until Boxing Day and top of the league, until the local non-league side Wycombe turned us over, then we had the first of what was to become a regular new year's collapse.

the 5-5 draw that cost us that season a place in the premier league (if any game did , that did. 2-5 up with 20 to go)! 2-5 with 5min to go, and 3-5 entering stoppage time as well. Probably the second-worst Oxford first half performance I have ever witnessed, after seeing us go in 0-4 at Southend (bloody Ricky Otto).

To be honest, I don't care if he has improvement in him or not. If he can come in for 2 series, play well against the West Indies and then help us beat the Aussies, that's all that matters.

Gino by Dexys was my first single, top track. Umm. Geno. Bloody hell. In my defence it was first thing this morning, and I had a medical check up this morning meaning I couldn't have a cuppa or any food, or something like that...

Think we are still 3 batsmen and a bowler short of an ashes challenge unfortunately. Great series win though.

He's only had a 4 week break in June. He's going to be knackered if we get to the play-offs. Play-offs? Have some faith man, we're second in the league!!!

Away from the test, what the hell happened at Lord's today? 20 wickets fell on day 1 of the CC game. Bad pitch or overhead conditions?

Fantastic race, they tried to take it to Farah, he's just too good.
Of course he won't win sports personality of the year again, dont know what he'd have to do to win that, probably take up cycling.
