I'm quite amazed people can't see the difference in the two challenges. The first was a legitimate shoulder barge, with shoulder to shoulder action when the ball was ahead of them. The second the attacker was shielding the ball and was pushed with a forearm in the back. It's nothing to do with the physicality of the challenge. (Like a hard fair challenge vs clipping someone's feet- one is a foul the other is not). Def pen and what a game! I was impressed with Rooney's chasing back for that last goal, he was motoring! For a short post you haven't half managed to pack a whole load of absolute crap into it. Do you actually know what a shoulder barge is ? It's when two people are running in a straight line towards the ball, their shoulders clash and the weaker of the two bounces off the other. When one, as Vardy did, runs across the line of his opponent and in doing so shoves him to the ground that is not a shoulder barge. Your 'push in the back' for the second is just laughable. A push is surely when there is, er, an actual pushing motion ? Where is the push whereby Rafael is clearly applying pressure in the motion of a push ? You've managed to get a fair amount of crap in your reply too. A shoulder barge is about lateral movement between the two players and it is irrelevant whether they are running side to side or coming from distance as long as the contact is shoulder to shoulder. It is also irrelevant of how hard this contact is. The factors the referee needed to consider was whether excessive force was used or if Vardy used his arm within the challenge. Both could be argued, but the use of an arm would not be clear from the referees position. As for the second challenge, a push does not need to be the extending of an arm but can be the pushing of body weight into another. Once Vardy was in front of Rafael he held all the cards. Rafael needed to get in front of him or side by side before he could make a legitimate challenge. Vardy cuts in front, Rafael leans/falls into the challenge and both go down. A soft penalty, but no worse than many given every week. Looking back through the incidents in isolation then I would say that Vardy first fouled Rafael by using his arm and body weight together. But I also think this was hard to see and Rafael was too lightweight and naive in not positioning himself for the challenge. He then showed the immaturity he has done before by rushing into a clumsy challenge. This was pretty much acknowledged by van Gaal immediately after the game.

FFS. Isn't it time to move on. The challenge by Vardy wasn't a foul because the ref said so. The challenge on Vardy was a penalty because the ref said so. Manchester United then folded and lost for whatever reason. GET OVER IT! Ah yes, but you clearly weren't watching the same match Baldy was watching. I am of course talking about Leicester City v Man Utd in full, true, magnificent red-tinted Baldy-vision! You see, it wasn't just Leicester's 2nd goal that was called into question - it was what followed. There was the 3rd where Mark Clattenburg scored a tap in from 6 yards, the 4th where Clattenburg scored with a magnificent diving header from a Vardy cross and then all topped off by a marvelous chip from 35 yards which gave MOTM Clattenburg a brilliant hat-trick!

You've got stuff a bit closer to home to worry about I'd have thought.......

You've an agenda, Steve. Must be living close to Liverpool that's caused it. Not your fault. though. It never is. I have no agenda, I am sticking up for someone who is getting unfairly bullied by you on a internet forum. You are a grown man taking the p*ss out of another mans learning disability. I will be appalled if the mods don't take action because IMO it is crossing the line when getting personal like you have and making fun of something that the person has no control over as you are born with it. You get in a dig at me about living close to Liverpool yet the ironic thing is I still only support Oxford United and no other team. A fair post. Interesting that Junior has chosen to ignore you and joey, who has also challenged him on making light of dyslexia. Hardly surprising, most bullies are cowards.

Yes, get over it, as andystroud says. it's boring. Take a leaf out of Brian Clough's book and accept the refs decision with some dignity.... Let's talk about OUFC and our climb up the table

Some might post views that others disagree with but at least have the strength of their conviction to stick to their views. Unfortunately, Junior makes offensive comments then hides back under the rock from which he crawls. Defend your comments on dyslexia/learning difficulties or apologise Junior.

ESB knows my views on this as he contacted me regarding it. That's all I'm saying on the matter.
As for supporting another team. Well that's just bollocks. Been a oxford fan for over 25 years. Don't need to justify my support on that.

That defence, the defence that everyone was slating before yesterday's game was in the top 3 defences in the league. Ironic that, don't you think.. Yep,great defence, clean sheet against a Burnley team that has scored 1 goal all season, clean sheet against a QPR side that hasnt scored away from home this season. You also say "before the Leicester game manu had one of the best defences in the league",if you look at goals conceded before last weekend, manu had conceded 3,Aston Villa 1 so 3 times as many. Oh and as for Baldys "best attack in the premier league bar none" Chelsea have scored 16 goals Man United 9 ? They have also played Man City away, scored 3 at Burnley (manu 0) and 4 at home to Swansea(manu 1) but don't let facts get in the way of a good Baldy yarn !

WE all know your views, now apologize Who made you judge and jury? This forum is becoming tedious for this kind of thing lately. If Oufcyellows was offended and wants an apology then that's fine. I will even throw in a pint at the next home game to go along with it. Pm to arrange if you'd like.

That's why I said one of the best. If I'd have said, the best. You'd have a point. Seeing as I didn't, you don't.

Arh brilliant first take the p*ss out of dyslexia, then throw a pint at me I'm past getting offended by it to tell the truth, but that don't make it right. I live happy knowing most of the people at school that took the p*ss out of it finished with a lot lower grades than me anyway.

It's tedious that this forum has to put up with the constant 'Cant back it up when challenged, but I'll post it anyway' crap that junior regales us with. I seem to remember that his signature used to be 'I say what I like, when I like', says it all really.
