If he leaves, it will be to a league 1 club. Whats the point in going to another league 2 club when hes Settled (ish) here.

Will be a big coup if we can keep hold of him.
He's given us the option to play 4-4-2 which has been relatively successful.
Who would play wide left were Holmes to go elsewhere?

It appears to have gone worryingly quiet on the Holmes front. Wilder said if he were to be staying then an announcement would be Monday/tuesday this week.
Fingers crossed we will get good news tomorrow.

Just been reported on R/Ox. They say their colleagues at R/Wiltshire have told them they are just waiting for confirmation that Holmes has signed for Swindon.

That is life I guess. The only reason i can think off is that he is thinking about next season or is being paid more. I mean why else would you go to a club who have basically already gone up, what would you achieve? I mean you could hardly say you contributed to their season.

Where will he play for them? Thought they had Rooney to play left wing.

He's a left footer isn't he? So he'll be competition for Player Of The Year Matt Ritchie.

He'll be looking at next season and as much as we hate to say it they have one foot in League 1 already and as you say will probably be paid more. They are a better prospect for him at the moment. We are hovering around the last play off place. Thought they had a really decent left winger in Rooney so he'll have big competition there for his place.

Unbelievable squad they are putting together for this league though, and no doubt also an opportunity to win a contract for league 1 next season.
My God will PAolo be crowing today though!

From a purely football point of view it seems an odd decision by both the player and the club. Can't see him getting in ahead of Richie, so why do they want him?
We move on I guess. Wilder found him, let's hope he can do it again.

Doubt if we'll ever know why. I'm sure the question will be raised at the fans forum. You're probably right - can't see the point though - what does it matter now? He was on a one month deal and got the opportunity to go to an odds on favourite for promotion with a chance to impress and win a contract for L1 next season. Oh, and Rooney is cup-tied for the JPT final at Wembley, Holmes won't be.

I am gutted he isn't staying longer a truly class act. Available at the end of the season so maybe this isn't the last twist in the tale?
Good signing for Scumdon anyway!!

This has really p*ssed me off, but I guess you have to look at it from his point of view. Swindon are going to win the league by a country mile and even with the same squad would probably challenge for promotion from League 1 next season. I guess we can't expect any loyalty from a loan player who is simply trying to make the best of his career. The rivalry means nothing to him.
This is a big blow though and shows up the risks of using so many loan players because when one becomes integral to the team and then leaves, you need to rebuild again...

As a footballing point of view, it's probably the best decision for him (money and footballing reasons). He doesn't have the hatred of them as we fans do so it's not as unbelievable as some are making out. He did is part for us while he was here and tore them apart that aided our win against them. He was never our player and he can't play against us this season so I don't care that he's gone there.
He's better than Rooney so I would expect him and Ritchie as their wingers.
