I don't think we should buy him, but he's a useful enough squad player

Have we really seen enough to take a view? We've got the guy for the whole season let's at least wait until after xmas to judge him. I think there's more to come from him. He has showed flashes of brilliance he just needs to look after the ball better which will come with more games as he gets up to speed with the levels required

He is not.

He is not. There's many players that wouldn't have realised their potential if managers and fans wrote them off too quick. Robert Pires, Cristian Eriksen, Patrice Evra, Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink all had a slow first couple of months and people hammered them and looked what happened with them. Players from abroad don't always adapt straight away! What a shock! Give him at least a couple more months. Patience is often rewarded in football! If he's not good enough we don't have to buy him anyway!

No, it's not spooky, it's not Halloween and he's not shit. Your attitude stinks though. To my mind he's a rough diamond, and with a little polish and a fair crack at it, he may turn out to be an inspired signing.

If he could get his brain operating in conjunction with his feet he could be a good player. Also, if he can remember that he is required to a defensive job as well when playing wide would be very helpful. 2 big ifs there.

The jury is still out on VK. I am still shuddering from that godawful Walsall performance. It was toe curlingly bad.
On the other hand there have been some great little substitute cameos.
He is no central striker, he can't hold the ball up.
I think he will end up being a flank playing super sub.
Lots of pace, lots of unpredictability, and may win us a game or two.
In his favour he seems keen on the club and I like how he's delaying his international departure at the weekend.

OO err missus.
'Rough diamond' is empty rhetoric. He looks the business physically (athletic build, has a bit of pace) and he's come from a high level, European club. He trained at Ajax. His name is Gino Van Kessel. Somebody paid £1m for him. Exciting
He's 24 and never achieved anywhere. He's tactically and technically inept. Not sure 'a little bit of polish' teamed up with 'a fair crack at it' (that old classic winning formula) is going to do it unfortunately.

Imagine if the club had listened to fans and just gone out and splashed 800k on Gino rather than opting for the try before you buy. This place would be in melt down!
To expect a player to come over to a new country, a new culture, have their child born literally weeks after moving over here, then having to move his family over here to hit the ground running is rather unrealistic. As with all the other over seas players I would wait until after Christmas to judge them.

It's a pity Mapp isn't still around, I'd feel optimistic in his ability to coach GVK in the tactics, ways and quirks of being a EFL footballer. Not that I don't think Pep is up to it, just that he's not yet had the time to show his abilities. Half full rhetoric maybe. We'll see, 'missus.'
