"Interesting to note that the MK picture has a lad looking smug and away from the "pyro" who looks remarkably like the chap in the North Stand picture. Not that I am pointing fingers but...........................
As above...it isn`t a "moment of madness" it is a pre-planned illegal act so no whining when they get caught.

You see I disagree with all these press releases and pleas. The culprits ( haven't a clue who they are btw ) know the consequences so let it be. All this publicity may be pandering to them and giving them a sense of achievement knowing they have / are pissing so many people off.
As for pints deductions. Now I will be amazed if any club ever get points deducted for smoke bombs.. It'll never happen!

I think it's the duty of the club and OxVox to issue a 'plea' and press release, so I applaud them doing so, just suppose the club 'let it be' and ignored the problem, then someone gets badly hurt by a smoke bomb/flare, they would deserve the criticism and consequence for doing nothing about it!! So doing nothing isn't an option it's a dereliction of duty.

What sort of people have a 'sense of achievement knowing that they have/ are pissing so many people off' (being fellow OUFC supporters). Strange times

About time it was said. But I'm sure of the idiots responsible have problems reading so it won't make a bit of difference. If they are so desperate for pyro at football go to a game in Europe.

Smokebombers should let off smokebombs behind the fence end, (if not illegal)

Suggest a big poster at entrances: The use of smoke bombs at this stadium is illegal and anyone caught setting off smoke bombs will be punished and this may lead to imprisonment. The use of smoke bombs does not enhance the atmosphere in the stadium and the majority of fans are against them being set off. So much so that there is likely to be a fan in the vicinity of any released smoke bomb, who will likely inform the authorities. Take note.

I'd shop them in an instant if I saw the culprits. And the more fans express their displeasure, backing up the club's statement, the better.Although I can see Junior's point about not pandering to their wishes and thus not enabling a sense of achievement, failure to confront is like passive acceptance.

Posted this in the "Cologne vs Arsenal" thread, but should go here too IMO. Also, the flares in the picture of the Köln fans are entirely different to what the youth at OUFC seem to get their hands on. I wasn't at the OUFC games in question, but I'm assuming the goods were those yellow smoke bombs like the one that closed down the Globe before the Barnsley game? If so then these, last seen drifting across no-mans-land at the Somme, are absolutely awful and absolutely unpleasant. Not all flares, smoke bombs are created equal (not that this excuses from the fundamental fact that pyro is banned in all forms in this country and this should be followed). But if this is the ONLY time people have experienced pyro, then it's unsurprising the venom against them. It's like tasting the drip tray of a pub and saying all beer is awful. What it and this thread do show, and I'll repeat myself here, is that ultra culture is stillborn in this country. For everyone who finds they enrich the atmosphere there is another one who thinks they are super dangerous. And never the twain shall meet. Also, the flares in the picture of the Köln fans are entirely different to what the youth at OUFC seem to get their hands on. Indeed. The guys in this picture certainly all seem to be having a perfectly good time without any health and safety zealots killing the atmosphere. As Barney Ronay points out in today's Guardian: "Many English grounds must seem bafflingly silent, colourless places to European fans raised on the idea of an English terrace culture. Sorry, chaps, but we sold that off a while back. And please, remember to exit via the gift shop". Quite. #NoPyroNoParty

Football as an exciting event was killed off when all seater grounds & satellite TV appeared. Its all corporate bollocks & chasing ££££`s now.

Posters putting up pictures of other fans and marking them as 'suspects' surley a new low for the forum I'm not sure it is? It is becoming a regular issue at our games and we have a lot of fans who feel strongly about the impact it can have to their health or others. If a way of stopping it is posting pictures to see if anyone can identify who is letting the things off then I don't see a problem with it.
