Colleague of mine is a Malmö FF fan - says this signing is insane and something to be really excited about! He is a bit of a club legend apparently.
Will try and get some more info out of him on what sort of player we might expect.

Another utterly unknown quantity. Cue a load of speculation, including from yorus truly, based on his Wikipedia page.
Having a full Albanian internatonal is another nation we can add to the map. Zeli Ismail is half-Albanian so didn't count.

Looking as others will at Wikipedia, this signing looks well below the quality level that I'd expect from a Lge 1 player.
Here's hoping the plane journey turns him into a goal-scoring striker.

I wonder if Gino will be used more on the wing then as a striker having made this signing. I hope Obika keeps his place up front for now as he has done well last few games. Not much to know about this guy until he plays but he probably will be eased in having not played in a while.

I think we have to trust Pep a bit on this one, he knows the guy already. Not much to lose id say.

Another signing that possibly wouldn't have happened had it not been for Pep's connections. Brief info sounds encouraging, and he's almost match fit to kick start his career with the U's!! Welcome Agon!!

I tend to find judging a striker on his goals for on wiki, is less effective than watching him play

Can we PLEASE stop judging people on wikipedia records? Kemar Roofe's record before he came to Oxford was complete dogsh*t on Wiki.

Read the Oxford mail article gives a better insight to his goal record and where he has played.

I thought we'd signed a lesser known character from Game of Thrones at first.

Colleague says 'He was malmös answer to Filippo Inzaghi' - there is a song about him too: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCDeKWeUQEEthe song lyrics are: He is thin as a smoked eel, but still he scores. Agon Mehmeti, Agon Mehmeti.

I tend to find judging a striker on his goals for on wiki, is less effective than watching him play What about the quality of his previous teams, leagues played in, age etc. For example, the first thing that jumped out at me was the fact that he has never played a decent standard of football. More to look at than just the goals tally.

I'm in no position to know what the standard of malmo is compared to oufc. Many people judged that Danny hylton was no good having seen him and played against him. If he's anywhere near as good as ricardinhio who also played at that same level then we will have done ok.

We've now signed a fifth player with no experience of English football. Hopefully this is a masterstroke. So far, Id say Ricardinho has adapted the best. Xemi and Van Kessell the jury is still out on (although Xemi isn't fancied much early on) and we have no idea about Pekalski. Clearly this guy can play but a one year contract suggests Pep is hoping he shines rather than expecting him to.

Some people need to apologise to oxbible as well.

Looking as others will at Wikipedia, this signing looks well below the quality level that I'd expect from a Lge 1 player. Here's hoping the plane journey turns him into a goal-scoring striker. It's takes a special sort of intelligence to dismiss a player on the basis of playing in Serie B, the Champions League and the Turkish Super League.

Looks like another case of 'Cannell makes stuff up'...

For anyone playing down this signing, start supporting what Pep is doing and remember he has replaced Hemmings.
Read the Ox Mail article as well, very happy with this signing.

He played for my local club Stabæk last season of which I watched a couple of games. TBH I cant remember if he was any good or not.
Edit . my lad said he was the player that walked out with him when he was mascot. Then scored in 2-1 loss.

You can't write 'this signing looks well below the quality level that I'd expect from a Lge 1 player' and then claim that isn't dismissing the player. Youre basically saying 'I've looked at wikipedia and he looks sh*t.' Just because you add that you 'hope he isn't' at the end doesn't mean you're not judging him negatively before he's kicked a ball for us.

Worse than that though, for him to come back on the thread and try to wriggle out of it by denying what he'd wrote. Really have seen it all now...
