Agreed. I know everyone wants us to spend big money, but players of this quality on season long loans are no brainers.

That would be quality. Be nice if it is a year and not the baldock situation where we could end up losing him in Jan . Would have some serious attacking threats then wth him, hall, Johno and Henry. Just need the striker to convert them.

About time to, I think it's always been the case if u pay a fee for the loan, but that makes it much better for the smaller clubs.

Only reason it wouldn't be for the length of agreement would be if both clubs mutually agree to end the deal such as Crowley last season.

Interesting that Southend fans think he could easily play the striker position.

Good morning eggy, how is life behind those rose tinted spec's? Come on he is a great signing, and in for the season if it goes ahead. Possibly perm if it goes well. A striker and LB and promotion push is back on.

Good morning eggy, how is life behind those rose tinted spec's? I know what you mean, I must be a right muppet for being positive about a 22 year old who played 28 times for a promotion winning championship side last year! I wish I was more sensible like you in recognising that we only pick up the old and injured! Anyway, how are the summer holidays treating you? Bored yet or are you busy on Minecraft?!

Without wishing to p*ss on anyone's cornflakes, he's a Tower Hamlets lad. Charlton might be quite an attractive proposition for him.

This would be a great signing if it happens. My original post said as such. Being positive and blind allegiance are to different things. Personally I feel that signings so far have been poor. But I hope this shows a sign of things to come. I also think that Eales goes on the radio or on record with the Oxford Mail and shoots his load. We are desperate for a press officer or communication executive who controls the message which comes out of the club because Eales is a liability.

It looks like Sussox has got another new profile and until now was doing so averagely well at staying under cover.
On the signings so far we have gone for experience which we were crying out for last season so Williamson and Shearer get my approval. Henry is not only proven at this level but a damn good player at this level and an improvement on Mags.
Tendali could go one of 2 ways but from interviews it sounds like Pep has brought him in for as much as what he can offer off the pitch than he can on it. If fit then he will be a good player at this level.
Obika, we needed a target man and he fits the bill. I can see why some are underwhelmed by him joining but we need players like Obika in the squad.
Celtic CB who noone knows anything about could end up being a great signing or one that we see go in the new year.
Xemi is another that no-one can predict how it will turn out but he has had a good footballing upbringing at one of the best footballing sides in the world. I wouldn't judge him early on as it will take a young guy who has never lived away from Barcelona let alone Spain a while to adjust to live in England and he will have ups and downs while he learns to cope with home sickness etc.
It is also worth noting that if MApp was still here then Obika, Henry, Shearer and probably the celtic CB would be too.
As for the comments about DE, I'm not too sure what more you want from the man when just 2 days ago OxVox members were emailed a whole load of answers about a wide range of comments from the man himself. I assume you got the email Pep Out being an OxVox member?

I know what you mean, Henry is awful, Obika is shite, Xemi ain't got a clue and Williamson must be about 60!! As for Darryl, who the hell does he think he is? Running round talking to local radio and the local paper? What a dick!!! Life is so much better without those stupid rose tinted glasses that were making me look a fool. I'm so glad I've come round to your way of thinking!!

All we can do is sign on promise and previous. The only disappointment I can think of is Crowley, and he let himself down. If this loan goes ahead, it signals intent, and a potential promotion push.

I would add in Martin to the disappointing list so far but we haven't fully seen him yet and he had issues away from football that he had to deal with so not his fault either. I'm hoping he is a good solid squad player over the next season for us.
