Great signing. And wasn't McAleny a little short in the vertical department? Challenged, malc. Vertically challenged. Dear oh dear. Yes sorry. I had a senior moment. You are, as usual, correct.

Fantastic signing! - Pep's comments suggest that he'll be deployed in the number 10 position, and you've got to expect with his pedigree that he'll be starting if fully fit.
The bigger question will be whether it's Hemmings or Obika that he's deployed behind. I can't see it being both....
Edit - Completely forgot about Thomas....!

So basically we just upgraded McAleny at probably a fraction of the cost

Baldock Loan was a season but with a right to recall in the transfer window and with the shit MK Mongs were in Robinson recalled him as he was 3rd choice RB at MK Mongs when he came to us but installed as 1st choice when They recalled him. Yeah I know, what I'm saying is I think the rules have been changed to match that, but the same thing I think can still happen, players can only be recalled in that Jan transfer window. I can't see anywhere where it says it's guaranteed he's here all season. He can only return outside of that window if both clubs agree From Huddersfield Examiner: "Town have the option of recalling Payne in January, while his loan can be extended should Oxford qualify for the League One play-offs." So whether the rules have changed or not (I don't know), they can pull a Baldock on us anyway.

Perhaps one of the two could play on the left, meaning Johnson stays at LB. Leeds will be interesting to see what Clotet does

Also encourages competition for places with the quality choices I think we need both options, play Johno there against certain sides that we can get past on the floor with pace. But have the option of an experienced natural left back against the better teams or stronger right wingers that will expose Johnos defensive weaknesses and our lack of a left footed centre back

This is a wow signing like when we loaned Crowley. Except jack has been there and done it, and isn't a jumped up big headed little shit. Great addition. Well I think he is tad on the little side, but otherwise I agree with you!

If anyone has the htfc chairmans number kelvin Thomas is after it ready for a xmas phone call

He won't be challenging 6 foot CH's for the long ball, but I'm pretty certain he'll run through their legs.

He looks to have great balance and close control in those highlights. And he does have the lg1 and champ experience so the lightweight pysique shouldnt be an issue hoping he can be like a little attacking bobby ford.

Just had a look at the Talk of the Town forum. They seem to think that he should go to a top Championship team because he'll not learn anything At Oxford. Well have we got news for them! Have a look.

I like this, he looks like a no. 10. I'm happy, I think we needed a player like him more than a big target man tbh, particularly given Henry probably won't play through the middle like Maguire could.

Happy with that! He appears to be shorter than Jake Wright though.... 5 foot 5 inches! Clotet looks like a giant next to him It's a perfectly acceptable height thank you very much!

Yeah think it came into effect last season. The rules that came in last season still mean the player can be recalled but only in a transfer window, like baldock did. Has it changed again since this? I can't find anything the72.co.uk/57887/change-efl-leads-loan-deal-changes/Oh I was wrong then but still better system then before when recalls meant teams may not be able to bring anyone new in. I personally think that although they have an option for recall in January there is no chance it will happen and if it did at least in January you can bring someone else in.

Yeah same, I think there is enough or a gulf in difference between mk and htfc that it wouldn't be beneficial. So long as kt keeps his nose out

We keep talking about needing that 15 goal+ striker but it seems these days we're more of a team where 6 or 7 players chip in a handful of goal each and that works out more for us. Obviously we all want the big name goalscorer who we can scream for from the stands but maybe it makes more sense to get goals coming from here, there and everywhere. Payne will absolutely get us five or so and if a few others do the same that'll do nicely
