With the excitement of Wembley taking focus, it's easy to forget we have a game Tues evening.
Gonna say we win this. Not comfortable but we will get the job done.
Oxford 2 Bury 1 (dunks and maguire)

Both be rested as they have knocks.
1-1 Sercombe, none of our players make a proper tackle all game.

I'll be there. As said above I think the boys will not be going full throttle and with that comes the possibility/probability that Bury will do just that. They know our players will have Wembley on their minds. Going for another 0-0.

1-1. Low-key performance, low-key crowd. Lundtram injured in 63rd minute.

1-1. Low-key performance, low-key crowd. Lundtram injured in 63rd minute. Given that he was banned last year i have a feeling that Lundstram might not play tonight, still have Ruffles, Rothwell and Sercombe so centre midfield is the one position we have some depth in the squad. Can't see Hemmings starting given he is our only centre forward available Sunday either.

They know our players will have Wembley on their minds. Going for another 0-0. A pity if that's the case. Millwall and Rochdale both with difficult games tonight, so if they both lose and we win, then still in with a shout of the play offs. The pointless trophy has definitely affected the much more important league games in my opinion.

Probably the most forgotten about fixture of the season, this.
Certain to see McAleny and Martinez play, Ruffels to start assuming Ledson comes back fine and dandy from international duty, Rothwell and Serconbe to start and maybe even Raglan is MApp really is protecting the best XI for Sunday.

Will probably be going to this but not expecting too much. Quiet crowd, desperate home form and a team that seems to have largely checked out of the league a while back.

We have won 2 out of the last seven games, have not been in the play off positions all season and have prioritised the ex paint pot, we are not getting in the play offs.

I think that all those not eligible for Sunday starting tonight. Raglan in place of Dunkley. Martinez ans Mcileny up front. Prob Sercombe wide right, with Ruffels and Rothwell in the centre.

I wasn't at the Northampton game (Jerome) but on the radio they made the specific point that the players DIDNT seem to be holding out of tackles/not putting effort in/thinking of Wembley, so going against what a lot of you are saying on here

Going for 0-2 as our lads will be preoccupied with Wembley and our home form is awful

The league form has dropped right off since everyone (management, players and supporters) have got so engrossed in a pointless competition. And with that quite bad league form we are still not even that far off the playoffs. Just think where we could have been without that distraction.

Combination of factors make tonight's game very difficult. Wembley distraction aside, Bury have been on good form lately on don't concede many goals. 4 clean sheets in a row and 7 clean sheets in their last 10. They are also joint third in the form table with only the top 2 taking more points from the last 10 games.
Tonight is one of those where it's not going to be pretty and the Kassam isn't going to be rocking. Need to grind out a result however it comes. I agree though with Phil Edwards, win or bust tonight. Failure to do so and playoffs over.

I haven't seen us win a home league game this year. MK and Scunny only two I missed. Be warned that I'm going tonight - sorry!

I think we'll lose 2-0 tonight. Bury are one of the form teams in the division and will have more to play for; I suspect a number of our players will be too afraid of getting injured before Sunday or banned from playing as a result of a card to put in the sort of shift that's needed. Coupled with the facts that we're at home and it's a Tuesday night, a defeat has to be on the cards...

Bury are one of those teams you just cant get excited about seeing, a nothing team, like Oldham..... that said I've seen us lose to them a few times but tonight I think we will win. Sam Long to come on as sub and head the winner

While our form hasn't been great since winning at Luton, we did play four midweek games in March, as well as every weekend. That will have an impact on any teams form, so I'm not sure that our questionable form recently is totally to do with this 'one eye on wembley' narrative. However, regardless of the reason, there's no denying our form has been bad recently. Didn't realise til this thread ^^ that bury were so in form, either.
2-0 Bury.

I suspect that tonight will see the final nail in the coffin of play off hopes. Knocks to key players that will probably start at Wembley (meaning they wont play tonight), the desire not to get injured before Wembley, Bury being in a great run of form just now, and our abysmal home form all add up to a defeat.
Though I wont be too upset if we win!
I would probably not be too upset at a draw!!!

I hope the negativity on here isn't a taster of what's to come tonight - maybe if the supporters sound up for it and choose tonight to warm up for Wembley, this will inspire whichever eleven start tonight and those of us who can make it get to see some decent football, and perhaps, a win!! Easy to be supportive for big matches against the bigger clubs, takes a bit of effort and enthusiasm for matches such as tonight, so sing up. Please!
