Surely losing the play off final after an unbeaten last few weeks would be the perfect scenario? Hard to take but probably best not to go up, but loads of extra income and publicity... Today, 2-1 to the mighty Yellows. Never in doubt! Well done Oxford!

No idea why people are happy to see Bradford beat swindon. Bradford are one team we could of catched. That goal hurt us more than celebrating a Swindon loss.

For me that is the sort of performance we need to put in at times gritty and compact in midfield neutralised Scunthorpe today. First time i have really seen a plan b this season. Mapp has done well

Rah haven't checked the score since half time and come back to a stoppage time winner, quality! Sounds like a captain's goal from lunny, dragging us back into it Steven gerrard-style when that wasn't a team built for scoring goals

Loving the optimism, but if we're catching anyone, it's the team we just sucker punched in the 91st minute. Agreed. 11 points behind Bradford with 27 for us to play for and Bradford on good form. That would be one hell of a turnaround. Under the circumstances, I'm celebrating a Scum defeat.

But would of been 9 points behind Bradford with 2 games in hand on them. So (albeit a long shot) if we won the 2 games in hand would of been 3 pts behind them.

The fact is Bradford DID beat Scum, so no point wishing they hadn't. Win our two games in hand and we'd be five points behind with just 21 to play for. Meanwhile, we can expect Bradford to continue doing well. Even allowing for the fact that we play Bradford (away), I still prefer to celebrate a Scum defeat than hold out a very remote hope of the play-offs.

I feel if we're gonna make the playoffs we're gonna have to go on a ridiculous run, no point hoping this team or that team drop points, just go out and keep winning and whatever happens happens, realistically though I don't think we've at any point looked like having the consistency to get in the playoffs
So sod it, f*ck off swindon town

Well that was a strange old game.
1st how the hell are they in the top 5.
Second I can understand the changes and it did work in the end, just feel that if we had made changes at 60 mins just after the goal, we would have ripped them apart. Was crying out for a bit of pace as they were struggling to even deal with skarz. At that point Johno down the left would have killed them. Lunny did well unlucky not to have 2. McAleny must be a lot better away than at home. Phil Edwards is really growing on me. Not sure I agree with mapp that dunks and Nelson are more comfortable with dunks on the left. Not one of ruffles better games, seemed a lil lost. But so much better going into the rest of the weekend with 3 points. Another 3 on Tuesday and who knows, we certainly have a few more gears to go through if we need them

The conditions made it a game of two halves, something some of our fans seemed to forget once they got in the stands. Moan, moan, moan. It was blatantly obvious the wind was going against us in the first half and contributed to some of the poor play.
But, credit to the team for having the belief to keep on going and not give up. They created little (outside of a lovely finish) and looked a little bereft of ideas at times. We pushed on and based on chances, deserved the win. I thought the Ref was another weird one. A very interesting interpretation of taking the game back after a foul and fouls in general.
For me, I didn't think Edwards got a touch on the ball from where I was, but regardless of that, it was nice to see a niggly, divey side come to us and not profit from it. Ivan Toney hasn't improved since he joined Newcastle... What a waste of money

Well we finally won playing ugly. If we can manage another 3 or 4 wins out of the out of the 10 or 12 we lose like that next season we will be up there.

Just read thru all that and some of the comments are just laughable!
We didn't play great but how the f*ck are Scunny where they are? If and it's a big if we'd played our strongest XI I think we would have won easily today but Appleton changed it for tactical reasons talking about their diamond midfield. I don't like us changing our team to counter act others but we certainly nullified them today but it also meant it limited our attacking options.

Abysmal team selection. Why would you play a checkatrade side against a team in the play offs. Also true to form we are dire, looking like we have never played together. Why would you change a team that destroyed Peterborough last week? Embarrassing ATM. That last minute winner must have annoyed you! Although I'm sure you'll still find things to moan about!!!

Bloody hard one, this! (that's what Eve apparently thought when she first saw Adam). United 2 (Hemmings and Dunkley) Scunthorpe 3 (sorry) Att: 7309 with 656 away fans. If I'm wrong, I'm a t*at. But my crystal ball says: "Oh dear". I can see the scoreboard malfunctioning, with sparks and flashes coming out the sides. Bad weather will blow a bloody great big airship over the ground (oh, the humility). Dunkley's goal will come from a bullet header. As he runs to the corner flag to kick it, he will miss and catch Sercombe in the bollocks. A Scunny fan will bring a bloody drum to the game. A great big Great Dane-type dog will run onto the pitch and bite their number 10. Someone will have a banner with 'Let England be independent from Scotland' on it. Surprising no-one's thought of that, tbh. Just before the scoreboard explodes, Donald Trump's face will appear on it, with the slogan 'This is fake U's' up there. Yes, Mr Trump! That's just about it for me. I am proud to say: "I am a t*at!"

Cant remember moaning. At half time I gave what is called an opinion, my opinion, as most saw it, as you would have if you were there, to which I am entitled. I loved the turn around.
The last minute winner made me as happy as the goals at I saw at Chesterfield, Bolton, Oldham, Peterborough, Scunthorpe, Carlisle and so on....
I couldn't give a rats arse what you thought of my comment, so don't waste your valuable forum police time....

Exactly what I thought, he should be more consistent and comment on the phone when we win as well, oh wait, sorry he does. Oh and I am not him. He's from West Sussex, me I'm not. With the rumours of a kassam takeover, and this conspiracy theorists like you must be having a field day. Sad really.

I wish I understood what you were trying to say, I really do but I don't I was typing in a rush. We usually lose 10 or 12 games a season against that style of play and against those sort of teams. That's the first time we have won a game like that this season. If we win 4 or 5 of them next season we will be in the promotion race.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion, as I am entitled to point out, in my opinion, that you are very quick to jump in with your misery. Maybe save your valuable time but keeping your negativity to yourself for once.
