Sorry Charlie I initially thought you were talking about promotion from league 1 last season not league 2. I realised my error and deleted my comment. ) do agree though, that is a heck of a team. Glad you said you deleted your comment. I just assumed he was talking to himself again. Didn't want to leave him hanging

Glad you said you deleted your comment. I just assumed he was talking to himself again. Didn't want to leave him hanging I mean competing for promotion from League 1. There aren't many sides in this league who have 6 or 7 Championship standard players.

He is stating a lot of games for Bristol City who are near the top of the Championship.
And he is starting for the ROI. Well done him.
I know that he left is very poor circumstances (poorly advised), but I am proud that he is an OUFC youth team player who we have developed and is doing very well.

Thought he was excellent. He’s filled out more and looks very assured on the ball. Don’t we get a massive % of the transfer when he goes to the Premiership ?!! Foley - Callum is destined for bigger things, he’s now a regular starter in the Championship, playing international football, probably earning 10 times more than he did when he was with us - give me his ‘advisor’ any day of the week!!!

I am suggesting that the 'illness' and way that he left (pissing off the club and supporters- the club that had brought him through), was not quality. OK it seems fair play these days for footballers to do anything to break their contract and do whatever they can to get a move. There are better ways of doing this though ....

But I can't believe that if what we have all read is so nonsense why shouldn't the alternative view be stated somewhere? All we get is wait one day it will all come out. If what we have been told is all rubbish why on earth can't it be stated now? All seems a little odd and I am simply surprised that if COD has all been totally above board and the club have been naughty, why on earth would COD allow his reputation to be sullied so far as the OUFC fans are concerned?

He wasn't very well advised. Had he stayed put for one more season, he would have played in a very decent L1 team. This summer he would have gone to someone like Stoke, W Brom, W Ham, Bournemouth for £3-4m. And he would be on x3/4 his Bristol City money. He ( or rather his adviser- his dad?) panicked, and took the wrong move. Anyway, all, ancient history now...... Nice boy by all accounts, so good luck to him

Looks like his advisor wasn't very good at getting a decent championship contract along with how he advised Callum to get his move.

If I was his agent he would have a "per International appearance " clause. Maybe he has....no point discussing financials coz no-one knows Good luck to the lad.

No one on here has a clue what he's on, no one on here has a clue where he would have ended up if he's stayed a year and no one on here knows what would have happened 5 years down the line if he'd stayed
Strange how bitter some are and even stranger how some feel the need to know it all
The lad was decent for us, he's left us and is earning good money on a good team at a good level, wish him well or not but any grown man who cares that much about his wages or whatever is a sad w*nker in all honesty

It was interesting reading the bit of Kitson's new book about COD recently, he seemed to think that his Dad essentially talked him into Ireland U21s, where he should have held out for the full England team and associated sponsorship millions.
According to Kitson COD mugged himself off with the decision and he, DK, had the last laugh. (this is basically every anecdote in the book to save you the trouble of reading)
With COD likely to play a part in the playoffs for the World Cup next year, I wonder what he thinks of the decision now?

He wouldn't even be mentioned in terms of playing for England at the moment. I would suggest that at then moment then his decision has been seen to have paid off (especially if Ireland make the World Cup). Fine if he does a Giggs and becomes a top PL player then it can be questioned, but if he had taken Kitson's advice, I reckon he would reckon that he had made the wrong decision.

Perhaps the point was reiterated in the desire to move that summer when waiting may have been more profitable financially and career wise.
