Great day out and great result. Also I must say I was a massive fan of their ground. Lovely little stadium they have got.
Hoping for Man U/ Arsenal / Liverpool away on Monday

Great crop of goals! Some of the defending on both sides looks pretty wimpish though. Only going on the highlights mind, couldn't make this one in the end.

Thrilling game. Rotherham have some good players but their tactics were all wrong. They gave Lundstram all the time in the world to construct attacks and their attackers didn't press us hard enough.
Appleton's first sub - how many times do his subs work? - won us the game. We were being overrun in midfield and Sercombe's experience stiffened up the midfield immediately.
Johnson's cross for the third goal was worth the entrance money alone. Though he did drop a clanger for their first goal.
The whole day out was a super experience. Easy enough drive, good stadium, gutsy performance, loads of goalmouth action.
Didn't stop one lunatic chew out the whole team 20 minutes into second half, screaming at Appleton to sort the f&&&&&g mess out. We have some brainless chumps as supporters occasionally.

Is says Maguire misses penalty for visitors, so not sure what you mean unless they've changed the wording.

Really enjoyed yesterday. Fantastic game at now comfortably my new favourite football ground. Loved every single thing about the ground.
A brilliant game of football with lots of twists and turns.
Some of the football was excellent from us and the 3rd goal a joy to watch. I won't give hemmings any stick for the miss just after as I thought it was a ludicrously over hit pass from Johnson. Johnson's run in the first half all the way to shot on their goal up the other end was a joy to watch. Very similar to roofe at tranmere on his loan spell.
As a yardstick it's obvious to see what a big step up the championship is. The concentration levels and the percentage of times you will be punished for a mistake are sky high.
We are no where near the finished article as a team but we are progressing.
I really hope we keep hold of Appleton. He has a fantastic project to work on here and has done a brilliant job.

I am not sure Rotherham are a good way to judge the standard in the championship, they are in their own little mini league of one and will be relegated by the end of March.

Surprised no one has mentioned Ledson on here. Thought he was our man of the match today. Put in several strong sliding challenges and stopped so many plays which Lunny picked up the second ball from. Also, I'm pretty sure it was Ledson's touch and volley which was brilliantly pushed round the post by their keeper for a corner, which was the corner we scored from.
Shout out to the guy who told the idiot who called Ryan Taylor a useless **nt to shut up.
Edwards was quality. Best game I've seen Lunny play for yonks. Sercombes a machine. Johnson's an absolute gun on that left hand side.

You can see the difference between Brighton who are top of the league and Rotherham whole are bottom. Also for 25mins second half Rotherham outplayed us. I felt they put a lot into that period of play and you could see the pendulum swing slightly back our way when we got our second goal. Not sure what would have happened if Rotherham got a second in that 25min spell, but glad we hung on during that period and could've won 5-2 if we'd scored the penalty and Johnson's ball to Hemmings wasn't hit so hard. He just needed to pass it firmly square and Hemmings would have got his second. Similar to the situation at Bolton if so remember correctly. But overall, what a great game, great pub and fantastic support aided by the South Stand Upper Posse!

You must have been sat near us! As soon as Rotherham started to get into the game the abuse started. More swear words per minute than the least eloquent stand up comedian. Shut up when our second goal went in. Wonder if he really enjoyed his day out as much as most of us did?

I would say Rotherham and Brighton are both a bit misleading as to the standard of the championship, neither will be in it next year. Blackburn in the cup last year were a better yardstick of the average, and in truth they handled us easy enough. It's a good league, but some of the praise for it making it out to be premier league two is a bit overboard, mostly comes from fans of clubs in it trying to justify their position. Nearly all of the worst games I have watched this season have been in the second tier, it's not a wash with quality players but it would still be a big step up.

You must get to see a good selection of away games now Pete. I have to confess although I've been to 40 away games I've never been to a ground in Yorkshire. If we were to go up you could have Leeds Wednesday and Huddersfield to add to viewing next season. Are you going to Bradford City?

I loved the way the players looked to the fans to celebrate the last 2 goals. You could really sense the passion. They are a good bunch of lads. Appleton is really filling them with his DNA- every training session it seems.

It's great living in lovely Louth in the scenic Lincolnshire Wolds, but you also realise how far you are from places compared to sitting on the motorway network in MK! It's a 45 minute drive to get to the M180 with onward connections to Yorkshire and beyond. I've been to Port Vale, Scunthorpe and Rotherham so far. Planning on Rochdale, Chesterfield, Peterborough, Oldham and possibly Bradford, but that's on a bank holiday weekend. Big praise to Lincoln Yellow who takes in far more games than me, including some at the Kassam. I probably won't do a home game this season!

Next he will be splashing out on a new signing With so much of Appleton's DNA around the place it could be a very sticky situation for the next manager coming in if he takes the U21 job.

Quite, but he really should keep it behind closed doors, and not have favourites, I was shocked to hear that even though maguire wasn't playing well, he pulled him off in the second half

Although did anyone else think the floodlights were a touch underpowered?
