Can't say that game will live long in the memory. The selection was wrong at the start and the team largely anonymous for a lot of it. We worked hard, but the quality was still in Oxford somewhere. Awful

We played terrible first half. Not as bad second half but not great. Macclesfield played very well and if not for better finishing would of deservedly won. Only plus is surely we won't play that bad again and we are in the draw so let's get behind the lads

Last time we played that crap on TV was the thrashing at Cambridge. So I suppose there is an upside...somewhere. Bloody glad that is over, we were dire.

Macclesfield deserved a win I thought. We were poor.

In the 3rd round...... thats what you need. Well no...in the draw only. Let's hope that provides a wee shade of motivation for the replay.

Not good. I don't want to see that Rothwell/Ledson pairing again any time soon.
Taylor made a difference but he's just too limited a player to take us anywhere. I'd source a similar player with better heading and goal scoring traits to replace him.

To be fair neither have played together before, and having both only just dropped out from top academies a l2 midfield battle is probably not at all what they are used to. Could certainly have done with sercs or lunny in there, looked better with ruffles and Taylor helping out

I have never failed to clap my team off the pitch but it felt wrong to do that today. Abject and uninterested display with no ideas from the dug out.

I'd say we were unrecognizable - did we have an eleven hour journey?
We had zilch in midfield - we can't EVER play a two man central midfield of Ledson and Rothwell again. No wonder Shrewsbury done us. Those two in particular were abject and the two fullbacks legs have clearly 'gone' judging by that performance.
That was Skarz's worst game for the U's by a mile too.
I thought Macc were good and worked incredibly hard and looker fitter in my view. The Oxford performance was poor and we are lucky to be in the hat.
That's the only positive and of course Eastwood kept us in it.

Hopefully for the replay we will have Hall inplace of the non event Johnson, Lundstram in place of the even more non event Rothwell, and finally Hemmings in the place of that young player who wandered around looking lost (Roberts was it?). If that is the case and the tinkerman doesn't strike again we should put up a far better performance.
Edit: I forgot the replacement of Martin with Nelson. That way we might have a defence that can defend, a midfield that can create, a winger that can cross the ball and forwards that can score!

Be fair to Skarz, he looked to be suffering almost from the kick-off. I think his cranium is playing up.
