Strange feel around this game with the main discussion being what team we will field rather than whether we will win or not. Macclesfield beat Walsall away to reach the 2nd round so wont be a roll over but I do think we will have too much for them on the night.
The nation will be watching and everyone will be wanting to see an upset including the BBC pundits so it does add a bit more pressure to the players.
MApp has said he will be making changes to the side but mainly because we are down to the bare bones of the squad.
I will go with a 3-0 win to the yellows (Hemmings, Hall, Maguire) and 308 yellows standing out in the cold.

A balmy 3 degrees in Benson and 5.1 in Macclesfield. Game on!
I share roader's view that this is not going to be the cakewalk that the average, run-of-the-mill common or garden poster on here might think. Macclesfield will be right up for it and they're not the standard Manc that runs if they don't outnumber you 12 to 1; plus it's their cup final. I can see a complacent Oxford going 3-0 down by half-time and failing to make it. I can also see Apples on his knees imploring Crowley to return - "Come back Little Man, we're crap without you. You can have all the pasta and you can choose what tyoe we have."

The temperature at Nelthorpegate, in Westmoreland is 12 degrees. Unusually warm for the season.

I would think Martin will come in for Dunkley or Nelson and of course Rothwell in for Lundstram. Maybe Taylor for Maguire and Johnson for Hall. I don't think there will be a scratch team out tonight like there was in the last round.

Another potential banana skin tonight but as long as we don't think we will win just by turning up I'm sure we can get through this one at the first time of asking, although a draw would be ok. COYY

We need to go up there with a strong team and win this first time of asking. No replays no nothing. Go as far as we can in the cup it helps with the coffers and it gets the fans imagination going a bit, all together it would mean more people going and more money for the club.

I usually go up for the winter solstice, but there's only the one pub, 'the Chippy Ginger', and I broke my shoulder there last year. You would think Wiccans were a pacific sect but not when there's a buffet involved.

We're, it seems, 'rotating the squad' for this match, Let's hope it >turns< out ok then. Attitude, desire and total commitment will be needed tonight for a match that will almost certainly be very different [eg harder] than the previous round.
I hope we're on our toes from the off as they will no doubt be wanting to test our resilience, an early goal for them and it will be a very long night for the players, so fingers crossed.
Talking of digits, I don't think there will be more than three goals in this one, total, great if we can get all three of them.

Bit of a dilemma for me. I want to watch on the big screen but I hate the BBC commentators. I also want to to be online for the match thread. Trouble is my pc is upstairs and the big screen downstairs. So maybe I'll try watching down stairs with my tablet for the thread and headphones for YP.
Anyway I hope we don't get beaten, the right team have got to turn up. Think we'll win 2-0.

Flipping burgers for two hours at my daughters' school advent fair tonight and clearing up, then racing home in time to see the start of the BBC coverage.

Could spilt screen your monitor and stream from i-player or BBC sport website (assuming they are streaming it live like they do for World Cup etc).

I have two 22" monitors so I can always watch a stream while doing the MDT, YP commentary, and live scores on the other. But tonight I want to watch on the big screen instead of my missus watching Shrek (van Gerwin) in some boring darts match. Sometimes darts is just too popular here in Holland, on almost every night.

I predict some patronising coverage from the BBC tonight. Slow mo entrance shot from our players getting off the bus, focus on the one player wearing headphones and holding a washbag to emphasise we pay our players more. The camera crew will be hoping to catch one of their players getting out of their car.
The money we paid for Hemmings and Johnson will come up a few times to show we are big spenders compared to Macclesfield.
Pre match interviews will be done either on the pitch with the worst part of the ground in the background or fingers crossed for the BBC they will do it in the airing cupboard or find some boiler room to prove they are such a small club.
Macclesfield will be referred to minnows at every opportunity and ourselves as high flying league 1 Oxford.
If any of the Macclesfield players has had any sort of job he will be referred to as the ex postman/builder/bricklayer regardless of how long they had done the job for.
Kemar Roofe will be mentioned at least twice.
We will win 3-1 fingers crossed.

Interestingly our odds to win have drifted from earlier in the week. When I looked earlier in the week we were 7/10, now 11/10 to win (Boylesports). Not an easy game tonight at all, but I think 11/10 is good value.

Of course, this will be another opportunity for the Referee to get himself some TV air time.
If he turns out to be a short chap who puffs out his chest, puts on a determined smirk and strides purposely towards the circle before kick off. I will be afraid, very afraid.
Hate it when they make the game "all about me"
Fingers crossed, tho...
