if you're happy making pretty patterns against a champ reserve team fine. i doubt the players or management are - despite the soundbites. it's about attitude/mentality. some supporters are rather lily-livered in that regard. i'm sure it will change with the progress we make Did you go to the game? I am not sure that you are listening to the context that everybody is saying? I think that the management are sensible. I think that they realise that Brighton reserves are a very good side (better than the vast majority of team,s we will play this season) I think that they realsie that half of our reserves played very well and with a little luck we could have won.. I am surprised that if you went to the game rather than simply looked at the result, you wouldn't have any positives at all to say ....

Pathetic attendance last night. An embarrassment. People say they can't afford it but I noticed plenty of people paid more for a meaningless friendly against Leicester. We talk about building a 4th stand and being a Championship club but last night showed us up as a bit tinpot. Woah there. We'll turn up when it matters, but everyone saw that coming yesterday, and the fact we'd been trounced by them a month earlier doesn't whet the appetite. Disappointing turn out for sure but not surprising. Crap tie. I believe you said that was your first game of the season, hope you, too, are able to make the effort across the season. COYY.

I get what people are saying, but are we also saying that we will only turn out when we think we have a chance of winning?
I was not there either although I was in Leeds with my work.

I get what people are staying, but are we also saying that we will only turn out when we think we have a chance of winning? I was not there either although I was in Leeds with my work. Er we did have a chance of winning. Had Ruffels / Lundstrom scored we could have won. Do supporters seriously forget Swansea, Brentford, Birmingham (in the last round what 4 weeks ago?)

Would've been at home to Arsenal had we got through.
Before people get confused and say Brighton are at home to Reading, we would have been ball 19 had we of got through, not ball 3 like Brighton were.

A lot of people seem keen to point out how poor Brigton's team was.
What about ours?
Ruffles, Long, Rothwell, Roberts are all currently "second string" players in our squad. On the other hand Nelson, Maguire, Macdonald and Taylor are very much in the first team

I thought it was a good game of football and to me it showed how far we had come since the friendly a few weeks ago, our football at times was very good and on a par with Brighton who however always had that edge in quality going forward, I hope we keep improving as the squad get to know each other and fit in and hopefully with another signing or two we will have a competitive team for the league. I really enjoyed the game but not the result but for me there were more positives than negatives on the night, for those who chose not to attend it's not a drama but they missed a good game of football.

Spoke to a neutral at work and his opinion on the game was the best game he's seen up there for years, he goes to about a dozen games a year. End to end football both teams going for it and they just had more quality up top.
