True, so what about the logical suggestion that Ashton has made way because eales wants more involvement and it doesn't need two people doing the same job. And that Kevin smith has left as he was only ever here in an advisory role, setting up and teaching other staff how to do the job. Way to logical I suppose, although at least we've moved on from eales and Ashton must have had a major bust up If somebody is working in a purely temporary, advisory capacity, it's rare for them to have a title like "Director of Business Operations". And it's very odd that the completion of their advisory work coincides with the departure of the CEO. Plus a couple of others. Oh, and for the record, I haven't said anything about Eales and Ashton having a bust up. . Will that do ?? I know it wasn't u, just a conspiracy theory comment in general.

That all those staff might have left because of money issues ! Posing a logical suggestion based on the available information is a long way from "guess work". How did the "asset stripping" logical suggestions from 18 months ago work out? Keep playing the same broken record and people stop listening!!

How did the "asset stripping" logical suggestions from 18 months ago work out? You're absolutely right on this. At that time, based on the discussions that had been held around the stadium issues, that was indeed a logical suggestion, as it would be expected that somebody buying into the club would have been well aware of all the issues. As it transpired, they appeared to have absolutely no idea about the issues and the WE proposal in particular. Go figure.

People who moan that there's nothing to do at The Kassam, will moan even more if we had a stadium at Water Eaton! The nearest pub/restaurant would be the Harvester in Kidlington and there would be nothing else on site or for at least a 45 min walk, other than a supporters bar which we would have if we owned the Kassam anyway. Within a 10 min walk from the Kass stadium there's everything you really need at football isn't there? from the blackbird and chipshop in BBL, the Catherine wheel and all the stuff at the bowlplex. Yes I hate the Kassam, it looks shit, it's in a terrible location, and will never have an atmosphere with the high roofs, and distance from the pitch etc. But then neither would the new stadium if we're going to have it like Brightons or any of these new modern stadiums, and for these so called middle class people. All these new modern stadiums also have no atmosphere and no character. Wouldn't improve the matchday experience one bit for me personally other than I wouldn't need to get a 10-15 min taxi with my mates from town pre match, just a 10 min train ride. Also the argument that the traffic would be better at the Kassam if we did a deal with the science park for parking in their car parks. How would it? All the cars would still be needing to use the same 1 road in and out. The only thing that would improve this would be if the club somehow did a deal with all the park and rides around the city and had numerous buses taking people to and from the stadium. And coaches from the other larger towns around the county which was tried before but failed miserably as most of them only had a couple of people use them!! I hate the Kassam but don't think Water Eaton will ever happen. You're right in a way. There could be a similar problem. However someone like myself who lives in Bicester could drink in Bicester or even stay at home before jumping on the train after 2'oclock to go to the ground. I could also jump on the train to Oxford and have a few drinks before doing the same thing. That's the slight difference and what could be a advantage. While the area is currently sparse I would think that potential restaurants/bars would be more likely to consider opening there then they would at the Kassam. That's only my point of view, appreciate not everyone will agree.

Both were specialist roles, that eales has employed the best people he can to teach him and other new staff how to do, it wasn't that long ago u and Charlie were saying we don't need all this back room infrastructure at a l2 club anyway and u didn't want Ashton anywhere near our club. He brought them in to get things set up and learn off them, he feels he's ready for that now. Get back onto the moon landings or the twin towers , some of the arguments there are harder to argue against

There is potential for retail and commercial development, and a top class, community-based sporting facility. The whole WE stadium proposal is based around this wider development, not just plonking a stadium in the middle of nowhere again.

One of the posters is/was? on the OxVox committee. I don't think he is speaking on behalf of OxVox here, he's giving his own personal views I suspect. Having said that, I believe that people in such a position should be careful of what they post, as it can easily be misconstrued as representing more than just a personal view, when that's all it is.

It's only the Pangloss twins crying because someone's pointing out that the emperor may not be fully attired. How about: 10m paid into ENSCO, how much paid out so far? Extrapolate that over the next 2-3 years. It's not hard to figure out a cause for concern just there. We may be very grateful for OxVox interventions or intercessions in the relatively near future.

Just seems some people can't let the past go. I know we've had bad situations and bad chairman. But there is no evidence what so ever that it's all happening again. Even when Ashton and smith come out and say the clubs in a great position, all u get is well that's what they would say. The club have moved on leaps and bounds not only on the pitch but off it, trying to unite the fan base behind what they are doing. Some seem more than happy to try and wreck that and drive a wedge between people again. If water eaton had never been mentioned, then everyone would be bloody delighted we have got a chairman that is working on getting the ground back in club control. Everyone panicked when Charlie didn't get the club as that was the dream ticket. That's not worked out so bad has it? We would probably be mid table with mickey Adams in charge, watching lee Holmes play for us. Maybe just maybe the dream ticket of a new expensive shinny stadium isn't as good either, and in 18 months we will be sat in l1 in our own stadium with development on a training complex started thinking what the f*ck were they all moaning about. Then again we could be Torquay

I don't see anyone mentioning that Eales is a bad Chairman etc, so not sure where you're coming from with that comment. I think the concerns that Myles seems to be raising relate to Eales' financial capability and knowledge of the club prior to taking it over, including the Water Eaton project. In terms of the Water Eaton project, it would appear that due to these financial capabilities that this option may be overseen because of these difficulties rather than what might be the best option for the club as a whole going toward. e.g. it shouldn't be completely dismissed. For the record I really like Eales and think he's been the best chairman we've had for a long time, and appreciate all the time & money he has invested in our club, but that doesn't stop me sticking my head in the sand and thinking all is okay, unlike some! My only saving grace with the recent personnel changes at the club is, it might allow Stewart Donald to become more involved which hopefully means the financial burden may be halved. I also think that Eales & Donald would be an excellent match for the club.

I've got nothing against Charlie, he thinks that stadium is the best option, I don't think the kassam is as bad as people make out. I think u find I spend a lot of time trying to stop wedges being placed in the fan base, people using term like glory supporters, plastics and such. Show me some evidence that's it all about to come crashing around our ears, or even make all the data on the stadiums public so we can all judge for our selves. Daryl eales has done nothing what so ever to have me worried, he owns the club and the decisions he has made so far have been very good, I have no reason to think he won't do what's best for the club on the stadium as well

It's not sticking my head in the sand or having a go at anyone. I know full well the consequences of the club running a out of money. I was there in the town hall the last time, but I see nothing to suggest were anywhere near that. We're signing great players with sell on value, we're bringing through good youth player with sell on value, were riding high in the league and are looking at buying a stadium. Can't see any negatives in that .

For clarity, people can express their personal views. Myles departed the OxVox committee in November/December and therefore, isn't speaking on behalf of the Supporters Trust. He has every right to express his view. Likewise, other members and ex-committee members in this thread, they are not speaking on behalf of the Supporters Trust either. If the Supporters' Trust Committee have something to contribute or wish to make an official statement on any matters relating to Oxford United, we will do so, when appropriate. We are aware that dialogue continues between all the key stakeholders about stadium options. Where that will lead, I don't think anyone knows at present.

Interesting that Magdalen have just completed the purchase of the other 50% of the Science Park (WTF don`t they open that for parking at £2 a pop?). I would suggest that will increase the "value" of the Kassam site & surrounding area for housing etc. www.ukspa.org.uk/blog/16/01/magdalen-college-acquires-100-oxford-science-parkWater Eaton now may look like an isolated development but (if it happened) would have a longer term effect on the surrounding area, the green belt thing will never get in the way of big money. Short term: Buy the Kassam (£13 mill or so), build fourth stand as we surge up the leagues & into Europe. Medium term:Sell Kassam for housing ( speculative £25 mill +) to finance "Water Eaton Manor"..... 60,000+ capacity with ancillary developments. Long term: Sell WEM for housing ( £100 mill+ ) develop 120,000+ ground in City Centre after shopping becomes a thing of the past and the Westgate & Clarendon centre are unviable. I`m not on the board...you`re all safe!!!

To be fair, the business park next to the Madjeski doesn't allow punters to part in there at all. The issue is small percent who want a bit of bother and the potential cost of damage vs profit if it kicks off. Why bother?

No need to apologise OX18.
Myles has recently departed and the current committee consists of Jeremy Faulkner, Matt Cavil, Terry Winter, Graham Butler, Maurice Earp and Michael North.
OxVox will continue to gather factual information from all stakeholders and aim to help this football club in it's pursuit to find solutions to the issues it faces. Everyone needs to work together to achieve that.

I think everyone would recognise the work OxVox has done in recent years and how important they are in bridging the gap between fans and the board.
I wouldn't tar the committee because of the views of a member (past or present) no matter how much I disagreed with it.
As has been said before, we can all agree strongly on the path taken, but we all want the same destination and that is for a strong and successful football club now and for future generations.

My main issue with the Kassam is that, without doing hospitality, it is very difficult to make it a day out. A train station would transform the area, as less drivers, more drinkers, more of a local hub so more restaurants and bars. It'd be spiral of continuous improvement
