I like to see sports teams in Oxford do well, it would be great news if it's true. Do we know what investment there will be on the pitch in the summer?

What is this site you're referring to?
I've never heard of it and given the grammar of the copy you've pasted, their Editorial standards don't be appear to be of the highest standard!

If it's the same bloke on twitter I blocked him as much rhubarb emanated from that direction.

I've heard a full pitch replacement is taking place. This includes the artificial underlay which is knackered and which hasn't been replaced since the ground was built.

I would imagine the truer post would be
London Welsh cannot afford to break contractual obligation with Kassam to play at the Stadium next season

Well they had better start soon otherwise it won't be ready for next season. If anyone lives close by keep an eye out and let us know if the pitch is being worked on.

Will it be ready in time? It was only just ready last summer, that's why the open day was at the training ground. And that was only the top layer replaced. I guess it's why we only have one pre season friendly at home, and why it's on the last weekend before the season. 200k is a hell of a lot of money. Kassam wont pay it. So I hope it's going 3 ways!

Ironically, I believe work may be starting in the next day or so I heard the contractors overran on their last contract on Bournemouth beach, that's the delay..

The figure I've been told for the pitch renovation this summer is £150k. This to include a new 'carpet' underneath to hold the artificial fibres that blend into the grass offering the far better coverage. Apart from the short timescale, which will be challenging, this isn't a figure that suggests a high spec job. Removing the existing, replacing with a new purpose carpet and then reinstating and cultivating a good soil and grass top, would need closer to £260k at a minimum, so it's a short term measure. Possibly sensible if OUFC are having to pay it all as always better to be away from the Kassam as soon as practical but the instant pitch improvement isn't guaranteed. If you look at old OS maps of the site there was a row of trees along the line of where the pitch dug out side is now and the worst grass cover. Potential problem is that when the contractors built the ground they may not have fully dug out the roots (cost saving) and these have now decayed causing the problems deep down. New carpet and pitch won't solve this!

So it's not just us that don't like them, seems as if every other rugby club's fans dislike them too, calling them a joke club etc! Unbelievable that the LW fans say that the kassam stadium doesn't feel like home to them. That's because it isn't their f*cking home! I really hope that we move away from the godforsaken place and leave them homeless.

Mark Ashton said today "The new pitch has a long term life cycle and will sustain football and rugby if required" if required?? He also said "The club and Firoka, the stadium company, have been working over the last two months to find the best possible solution to improve the playing surface moving forward. No mention of LW being involved in the process!! The plot thickens, or is it wishful thinking on my part?? Well that's a surprise having signed a 3 year deal last season. And having a pitch laid specifically to cope with dual use

Interesting, we can only hope. Many reckon this, if at all, will be their last season with us. That may well be, but the f**king bar-stewards keep turning up! Power corrupts and can be addictive, the Effing stewards fall under this category. Why would they forgo the chance to don a nice bright shiny jacket and frequent the bogs on the look out for those having a crafty smoke? I'm a non-smoker btw, so have no axe to grind- except if said stewards take it upon themselves to peer into the cubicles whilst one is having a turn out.

Seeing comments from LW fans that London Welsh have made all Oxford based staff redundant. No fact, just them talking about it.
