Rooney at times is getting in the way. He just doesn't know where to go.

Sterling been fairly poor, seems much less effective on the wing than he was in the middle the other night. Wish Ox was fit to bring on.

We're too slow at the back getting the ball out. It allows Uruguay to reset constantly.

england needed to get out to the wing more. taking off the 2 winger for more central players isnt a very good idea

Uruguay are continuing to go in studs up. I'm amazed the ref is being so lenient tonight.

The urgency wasn't there for England tonight. The ball was so often in good positions but they just wanted one touch too many every time. Baines was a particularly bad culprit, especially in the second half. There was often space in front, but too often he passed the ball back. It came as no surprise that England's goal did come from a sense of urgency.
Here's hoping Luke Shaw and (possibly?) Jon Flanagan can be full backs for England in the future. Baines and Johnson are just way too limited at this level.
Gerrard has been incredibly poor. Ponderous, wasteful passing and no threat at all from set pieces. I'm certain he'll retire after this.
