Be good if the old forum could be reconstituted, it's going to die a death here..

Is that because Ken, Mazz and TT aren't expressing their opinions? As in they all got banned and hit OxVox as it was a place for them to express their opinions!

Agree its a but quiet to start off with but the old forum was quiet too. The bigger issue is the time we spent trying to get a resolution and this was where we ended up.
The good news is this forum has led to a flood of members filling in the special meeting survey.
This section will getuch busier soon with details on 12th man bar and other events. Give it time.

Agree pottersrightboot. A real shame but it appears there are a section of fans views not wanted and like others they will just drift away.

Agree pottersrightboot. A real shame but it appears there are a section of fans views not wanted and like others they will just drift away. Some of the fans views on the OXVOX forum were simply cringeworthy and posted to wind people up. Others (Ken, Karim???) were simply weird. As OXVOX were having problems with their forum it seems that the move to a stable platform/forum is/was a good move as more people use this forum.

Can't they exercise their freedom of speech on here... or does the conspiracy theory not allow that?

I think the crap that filled the forum from bitter ex employees and sponsors with an anti IL agenda is done and past. When you start making the same quotes as Cottonsocks it does stink of desperation. Not sure why anyone should believe what you say, you cant even be honest about who you work for.

If we wanted to sensor people why would we move to a busier forum where we don't have any moderation rights?! If anything we now have far more people that can have a pop at OxVox now we are on a busier and more stable platform

So is the Oxvox forum retired for good? Or are you trying to get the site up and running again?

Oxvox should have its own forum with its own moderators. In my view. If there is a cost involved then as a life member I am happy for reasonable sum from trust funds to be allocated for its upkeep. I'd like this proposal to be put at the next Oxvox meeting.
Yes, the old platform did appear unstable , yes, there were a lot of timewasters posting but for it to be wound up so suddenly without any debate is a shame.

From my own personal point of view I'm far more likely to read (and comment on) any debate about OxVox issues on here, than I was when it had it's own forum as I pay a visit here most days, but went weeks without going on the OxVox forum at times, and I'm sure that could be a case for many supporters. If the posters that were using the OxVox site before just registered (is there a link to here on the OxVox site?) and posted here then what's the problem? The only one I can see, if it is indeed a problem, is that the posts aren't directly moderated by any OxVox committee member.

Good point FY! Slappy - This is the new home for the OxVox forum from now on. Hi Mark....although I am no longer a member of oxvox - and I certainly have no regrets - I really wish you well on this forum...... that having been said I am extremely sad you chose to close the old forum - especially without debate with your membership and as pottersrightboot says "its a shame"....however you obviously feel that is your prerogative and it is not for me to comment further. I only found out today that there is 'a new kid on the block' so to speak. From what I have read so far it looks good and I have decided to join.......might be an idea for you and your friends to join too - another outlet for you to get your views and ideas across? IMHO I can see no reason why this forum and the new one should not get along in harmony.....providing it behaves itself of course! www.yellowvoice.co.uk

What/why/who is that yellowvoice forum?
I see someone said on there that it's aggressive on here!

I have just seen Kens post....ye gods, whatever you may or may not think of the content I would hope Ken gets a rap over the knuckles on this one. However bitter he maybe - rightly or wrongly - he should not be so aggressive in some of his utterings imho. (help, I must realise I am not an administrator now - thank god!)
From what I had previously read, the posters on Yellow Voice seem a well balanced lot although I don't know any of them.
Other forums have had to deal with posters in a way they think fit and I would certainly not judge Yellow Voice because of this one post.

Well that was an interesting read. If I actually cared I would have a strong case of libel after only a few posts on that forum! Fortunately I'm no worried and it at least made me chuckle.
Thanks for the link Bob but having read it I think I will happily post on here where there are far more fans participating. Wonder why those posters don't post on here?
Good to see this section picking up pace and in time there will no don't be some great things the committee can learn from posters on here. Don't know why some people knock this forum it's the busiest forum on oufc and on important issues real debate takes place.

I do not think many people knock this forum Mark.....I rarely post these days although at times I like to read read this forum, RageOnline and now I suppose this new one. You ask why the posters on this new forum don't post on here.....well, how do we know that they aren't members on here too? - after all I have registered on this new forum this evening although I doubt if I will post often on any forum as I am getting too bloody old to care! Trust you and the rest of your chums at the Mad Hatters Tea Party are well! Happy days.

I'd say that it's odds on that the users of that forum will get distracted by a UFO hunt - or some such similar - within a week.

The sad thing with Ken is if he toned down his rhetoric, he'd find people would be a lot more receptive to his views. He goes off on streams of conciousness and it's a bit awkward to read. I don't see why Mark Sennett is getting that stick from him.

I'm pleased someone has bothered to set up a new forum. Suggestion for mods; set up an ignore button though; it was made for Ken. As that new forum is not an official OxVox one I am curious to know why you think that setting up another forum is necessarily a good thing, and also why it wouldn't be better if those posters joined this forum instead? This forum seems quite relaxed to ideas and posts from anyone. My personal opinion is that lots of forums with fewer posters on each is not a good thing as it's easier to miss interesting topics when they crop up. Also don't you think that Oxvox would getter a wider range of views and inputs if it was based on the busiest Oxford forum?

One of them told me that he didn't fancy reading long threads about sticking the boot in on the Villa in 1492 when we were all working class heroes ad nauseam. It has quite a few irritating trolls and can be intimidating to the new poster on occasion. See yesterday as an e.g. Oxvox have been quite dopey in not re-establishing the forum on their own site in that the forum drives traffic onto their website. The whole site may become even more of a forgotten backwater now. The old Oxvox site was different from this site; Quieter, but pretty measured on the whole and I enjoyed participating in, and reading it; shame it was closed down.

The old Oxvox site was different from this site; Quieter, but pretty measured on the whole and I enjoyed participating in, and reading it; shame it was closed down. It certainly was different. Not wishing to embarrass you, but you were one of a (literal) handful worth reading. There were no more than 20 regular contributors. Some were single agenda trolls (anti-CW, anti-Mark S, anti-Mr Bull, anti-OxVox generally), one (or possibly two) appeared to be clinically insane, a few were OxVox officers valiantly trying to defend themselves against the trolls. It was a mess, with little of interest to read, very little humour and rarely any rational debate. The new one will go the same way, populated as it is by the same people, albeit under different usernames.
