He had a slight knock before Oldham, haven't heard anything since. Apart from a fake twitter account saying he's off to Mansfield.
Not sure where I see him fitting in anymore.
Anyone know anything?

Joined Mansfield on loan. Surely another ST coming in very soon then?

Bit of a strange one considering that it’s the area we’ve looked lightest in. Also, with Wes Thomas being a tad injury prone we do need someone fairly robust up top.
I can’t say I was ever totally impressed with Hemmings. I’d said on here before that he reminded me of a slightly better version of Hoban. Committed enough but leaden-footed and not hugely influential in games. Perhaps a spell in League 2 could reinvigorate him into a better player again?

Guess that would depend on where they see Gino playing, if on the wing once Marvin leaves then yes we would need another striker. But if we get another winger once Marvin goes and Gino is one of three strikers for one position in the team then most likely no.

Wonder how much they have paid us to have him on loan for the season.

I hope we've got someone coming in... Just had a look at his wiki and his goalscoring record is better than I thought for us, although it does say he scored 289 goals in 41 games for Dundee!!!! We done well to get him so cheap... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kane_Hemmings

He has been a tad disappointing as a signing I have to say and just shows how difficult this position is to fill even if he didn't always get a run in the side

So many clubs after him I wonder why we didnt sell? Anyway, if we dont think he if worth a seat in the bus and we sign someone capable of more goals, then we have to see this year as one where pep thinks we can go up. good luck kane - with Marv and probably Ribs may have scored a lot more poacher goals but Thomas is a tank and Gino a maverick. He was no longer one of our top guns especially if someone else is coming in so makes sense

i personally don't think he is good enough for a team aiming to be at the top end of league 1.

I think that the problem is that he does not (and never really did) fit into our style of play. Under both MAPP and Pep we normally play one out and out striker upfront with one/ two playing off him.
This never really worked well with Hemmings as his strength was not holding the ball up and he didn't have a lot of pace.
I assume that there will be anther striker coming in. To me Obika seems the best placed to play the one up front, but we do need somebody else as an option and with Thomas off injured on Saturday we are exposed.

Think he had potential as a goalscorer but was never going to work out in a team playing one up top. Hope he does well at Mansfield.

Even if GVK is Hemmings replacement we'll still need one more player in soon as it looks inevitable that Marvin Johnson is off.

Good luck to him. It was always going to be difficult for him, because he was on the fringes rather than a starter.
Hope he does well for the stags!

He never really clicked for us, but not all signings can work out. Too similar to Thomas to keep really.
Good luck to him at Mansfield (he'll need it working with that pillock).
I thought we were short up front anyway as we had a lack of variety. It will be interesting to see what happens next!

I would imagine there are plans to bring another striker in, even if Pep seems to like players (like Gino) who can play in a few positions. I think Hemmings is better than we have seen so far, we can recall him in January, if we want to.

100% another striker coming in if Kane has been allowed to go. He's better than Mansfield as well. Could work all if he scores a few at that level. At least we'd get our money back if not a profit on him in the summer

Perhaps Pep doesn't think he's suited to the fast paced style he wants us to play. Cast your minds back to what happened when he was put clean through in the the JPG final.

How long does he have left on contract? If he starts banging them in, i hope he can be recalled in January.

The beginning of the end for Kane then, bringing the curatin down on a bizarre stay.
Never understood why we signed him. Let alone paid that amount for him.
He was rarely played in his favoured position. Off the shoulder of the big man.
As I understand it, it was a panic signing and was a regret of the recruitment ept. Still, can't get it all right.
Mapp's decision to play him on his own up top just compounded the problem.
And under Pep's there's no room for him, either. he can't play the No 10 role. And he can't play the 1 up ahead. So adios.
If he plays as the poacher, feeding off crosses and knockdowns for a brute he will score a load of goals at that level. Then we can sting Mansfield for our money back.
No loss

Mansfield have an option to make it permanent and considering how Cheaty McFraud has been making noises about having money to spend, I hope it is for the price we paid for him.
Good luck Kane.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say our new striker is to sign on a season long loan this week and we already have his song ready...😉

Dare I say that centre-forward was the one are of the pitch that Mapp had more misses than hits in his time here? He struggled to find that missing link to really compliment the style and shape he wanted to play. Lone strikers who can hold the ball up, link with the other attacking players AND score goals are hard to find without busting the bank.
However, I have a feeling in my water that there's still significant business to be done before the window shuts. Didn't Evans say a couple of weeks ago that he was hoping to bring a striker in but he needed to wait for the strikers current club to sort out a 'better' replacement..?
Exciting times.. 😉

There is no doubt that is Hemmings, Thomas and Obika they are all a bit too similar and we need a different option
Let's hope there is a replacement coming because it does feel a bit light
