Really hope they get hammered in the play offs, would be sick to see them go up!

No interest if they go up or if they stay put. Irrelevant club to me.

Only one club is our rival. And that club is in the bottom tier next season.

If they go up, they are going down again. The Thais are more interested in developing the area around the ground than the team.

I can only assume the vast majority of people who don't have any opinion on Reading aren't old enough to remember when we used to play them regularly. They might not be Swindon but they really shouldn't be far behind.

Too young to hate or care about reading. Quite a boring side, bit like MK Dons IMO.
Orient, Luton, Wycombe and Swindon for me.

We will be back playing them within a year or two.
Then I will like to see how many people don't think they are a rival.

When we play Reading you see more nasty hatred on the streets there than you ever get at the swine! Some of our younger supporters really need to learn a bit more about our history, not saying they should forego the hatred of the swine but to say they don't get the Reading rivalry actual sells our own club short.

Agree it's nasty. I can forgive the younger lads for not appreciating it as we have played them twice I think in the last two decades but not having that Wycombe or Luton or Orient are bigger rivals!

Written this before, but I'll write it again. It's more down to geography. Those of us that live in south Oxfordshire (Henley, Wallingford, etc) have more of stronger feeling towards reading than other fans who are west Oxford or north Oxford. We 'mix' with the enemy on a day to day basis far more than Swindon fans and yes, back in the 80s & 90s (too young to remember before that) the games were lively! I totally understand the OP and those that don't - ask some of the older lads!!!! P.s. They hate us and we're singing songs about how much they hated us when they were in the premiership and we were in the conference!!!!

I can understand that some younger fans don't know much about it as we have not played them much in the last few years but for me that does not diminish to feelings for them and as you said their feelings for us! For a lesson for any younger U's fan try walking about Reading in an OUFC shirt..

We've had days out in Reading that pale the scum into near insignificance. In the early days at Elm Park we'd just walk into the side where the home fans were and basically take it without trying, but as the years went by they got organised (with the help of a certain "Nightmare" and his boys) and there were some good battles. The Tuesday night at the Manor was right up there including the incident at the Brit. Always very edgy playing Reading back then, don't know what they're like now but definitely a big rival. How anyone could consider Wycombe a rival is beyond me!

Elm Park was a real derby all right back in the day. But these days, they look like a sad bunch of happy clappers.
