There is, as you might expect, a lot of coverage about the 18th defeat this season for London Welsh in the Sports section Of the Daily Telegraph today. i don't normally rejoice in the sufferingof others, but in their case I'll make an exception. The part of the report that caught my eye reads as follows: "Now some of their best players are poised to jump ship next season including their powerhouse No 8 Opeti Fortuna who is joining Leicester, while the Board is thought to be split about whether to remain in Oxford or to return to Old Deer Park next season." We should now, at once write to the Board and encourage their swift and irrevocable departure from Oxford at the earliest opportunity! We can only hope. A friend of mine went to the game Sunday against Bath, and he was talking to some fairly senior people at the club, and he asked the question about LW being at the Kassam next season and he was told that it was uncertain, but highly unlikely. Who he spoke to or to what capacity them have is unknown, but all he knew was that they should be in the know. Let's hope this is the case.

If LW do leave the Kassam next year, as a result of their relegation - it will be good-riddance! London Welsh should stay IN LONDON - permanently! They've ruined one of the best pitches in league football...

Whilst the chips are down it would be an excellent moment for Oxvox to irrevocably stick the knife in and announce how the people of Oxfordshire reject their presence in the county as demonstrated by their lowly crowds in rugbys top flight. That they are cuckoos in a world that doesn't want them. That they have been poor flatmates with their decimation of another clubs facilities. That their core fan base and membership at old deer park resents their move away. And that they have no future in an area where plenty of rugby already exists and football fans no longer wish them to ply their trade. The experiment has failed and it's time to draw a line under it before they do more long term damage to their clubs fabric Nicely put

That's interesting as I spoke with some senior members of the club too and whilst they agreed there was some uncertainty, they thought LW would be still at the Kassam next season. To be honest there are lots of rumours floating around as to who will own the club next season, so anything could happen in reality. Chris Samuelson of ex Reading infamy is now on the board of LW, not sure what that infers or his intentions but seems a strange appointment and again could mean that just about anything could happen between now and the start of the season, next.

With their attendances, how on earth can LW afford their annual rental of the Kassam Stadium? plus, pay their all staff and players, at the same time?
I'm most curious about this!
Now that they are relegated -- thank goodness!! - does it mean their eligibility to use the stadium, no longer applies?
Anyone know if there is such a "clause" - here's hoping?!

If they leave now, and I hope they do, then went on to win the Championship next season where would they play in the following Premiership season?
Anywhere but Oxford I would hope!
Surely it would make sense for them to go and do a deal with Brentford or Fulham, QPRs pitch is to small for the try area or whatever it's called, maybe Wycombe or even share with Harlequins
Just don't come back to Oxford please
