We must employ some sort of attacking coach we create so many chances but our conversion rate is shocking

He would be ideal as a striker coach, but would still love to be involved in the game. He did well for Tranmere over many seasons.

No harm in taking him as a coach, but his management record wasn't that good was it? Seem to remember the style of play wasn't overly popular either

Our strikers just dont press home the pressure we create, we need to take some of those half chances. We blame Wilder a lot, but when the team play well and don't put the chances away yet again, its the players who are at fault Lets not turn this into an anti Wilder thread

So bloody frustrating. We simply aren't good enough. We have a decent enough side but we fail to challenge for the playoffs despite the league being poor.
Sadly time is up Mr Wilder. We aren't going up and that was your target. He needs to be replaced or our season ticket sales will drop like a stone

We must employ some sort of attacking coach we create so many chances but our conversion rate is shocking Correct. Wilder may still have a job In the summer if we had one. How ever much I defend Wilder at times, this has been his biggest downfall in my eyes, not addressing the fact we miss so many chances. We are unlucky at times. We seem to have battered Northampton at times, but not scored again. Wilder has set them up right, and the players need to take responsibility. But Wilder has never addressed this problem, and he has to take responsibility. And he all have to, as he will be out of a job in the summer.

Why do we always lose by the odd goal at Northampton? Must be like the fourth visit in a row there.

If you know what your on about before you comment, you will also know every one of them was nuneatons fans not lincolns mob Many apologies - I have therefore arranged for Lincoln to score twice, beat Telford, which means that Nuneaton drop into the bottom four.

I've got a horrible feeling he will stay, which will make me question Lenagan for not being honest with his tipping points.
John can I ask what your view will be if we finish where we are now and wilder stays? It's a horrible thought for me and the majority if people I know. First time in 20 years I'm thinking of not getting a season ticket if he stays

They'll lose at home to Morecambe and then win at Aldershot and by then mathematically impossible to go up Goodbye Chris W Another season in the basement Story of our season is creating chances which then go over, wide or get saved

I'm with you, but Lenagan knows fans won't come back if Wilder stays, and he won't accept losing even more money. Be prepared Wilder to leave in the next few weeks.

Hi JL. We all know we have to have a change of manager, if nothing else to inject some life into the club - WIlder has run out of ideas, and his dourness has run its course too. But having read your previous posts about Wilder definitly going - how do you know this mate? There is no evidence other than IL being silent, and on IL's previous and current form - Wilder is with us next season. Especially if there's a cost getting rid of him. It could be very bad for the club if Wilder stays - he's proved he's not got what it takes at this level. f*ck all the excuses (on repeat), every other team has these issues too. My biggest concern with our setup is that we're bottling it - each time we get really near the playoffs, we f*ck it up. I'm not sure he's got what it takes to get this hnger and resiliance in a team.

The hunger is there thats not the problem at least today. Yes, but my point was when we are near/in the playoffs we bottle it. We weren't really that hungry as we hardly pulled the trigger in front of goal.

Baldy was insistent that CW is staying for next season. Your tone suggests otherwise, but you can't be totally sure can you? 6 more games of this worthless season to go ...

Ian Lenagan has invested a lot of time and money in recent times, into the youth system, development squad that will be coming soon, video technology, sports science, and playing squad, and the incoming sales and marketing manager. He may be quiet, but he is commited to Oxford United. He believed Wilder deserved another chance, which I can understand. But he knows how fans feel, and he wants to make Oxford United successful, and there is no chance a successful businessman, with ambitions of promotion, will give Wilder another season. And I expect he will have plans in place for the selection of the new manager.
Lenagan won't come out and say anything, and some people think that means he still has faith in Wilder. But Ian Lenagan will be thinking long and hard about the plans for the new season, and there is no chance that will involve Wilder. We need a fresh start, and Lenagan will know that.
The rumour that Wilder has been told he will be here next season, is just a rumour. He won't be here, because Ian Lenagan knows the club needs a change, and will be in trouble if there isn't.

No way we will get eighteen points. Lose a couple of those and I would think it is impossible to go up this season

I dont want wilder here next year becuase i think weve hit the wall under him, but i firmly believe IL is just treading water and waiting to offload the club if possible, so therefore wilder might well get another year as its the cheapest and easiest option for IL

Surely CW's contract runs out at the end of this season so how can it cost the club to sack him? Or rather, not offer him a fresh contract?
I, for one, will not renew my season ticket if he stays. And there must be many more like me.
So, surely IL will see sense and do what is best for the club. Or we could be back in The Con next year.
