Question mainly aimed at Scoob, is there any information available concerning the profitability of the whole Grenoble Road site. That is to say, the cinema, bowlplex, hotel etc as well as the stadium/conference center? Or is it all tied up in a web of Kassam's companies?
It's so galling to think that as a club with a chairman who genuinely had the club's interest at heart, we could be playing in completed, quality modern stadium at no cost whilst receiving an annual dividend of at a guess £750k per annum from the rest of the site which could be pumped directly into the football club... Championship no problem!!

Helsinki there are a several companies listed at Companies House that may relate to the whole development:
FIROKA (HEALTH AND FITNESS) LIMITED - I'm not sure if this is anything to do with the health club at the Ozone. FIROKA (OXFORD) LIMITED FIROKA (OXFORD CINEMA) LIMITED FIROKA (OXFORD HOTELS) LIMITED FIROKA (OXFORD LEISURE) LIMITED FIROKA (OXFORD UNITED STADIUM) LIMITED FIROKA (PRIORY HOTEL) LIMITED - I don't think this it the Priory near the ground.
I've always concentrated on the Stadco because that is the one that directly affects the club and I don't want to wind myself or any others up any more.

I've had the accounts for all of the various companies on the site in the past, and it does make interesting reading, although there are a lot of inter-company loans, from memory. So you need to be a bit of a forensic accountant to pick the bones out of it.
Long and short of it, is that it's kassam's gain, and OUFC's loss.

According to The Guardian, the reason the Welsh were rejected is because the rules state if you're not a primary tennant, you have to name a second stadium no more than 30 miles away from your first, and they named Brentford.

FIROKA LONDON PARK LIMITED - the main parent company. FIROKA (OXFORD) LIMITED - subsidiary of FLPL which acts as a holding company to the following:- FIROKA (OXFORD LEISURE) LIMITED - owns the freehold /long leasehold of the Ozone complex and paid for the building. Leases out the buildings / units to tenants such as F&B, bowlplex etc. FIROKA (OXFORD UNITED STADIUM) LIMITED - football stadium and conference facilities (and I think the Priory) FIROKA (OXFORD HOTELS) LIMITED - hotel (one on the corner of the ground) FIROKA (HEALTH AND FITNESS) LIMITED - I'm fairly sure this is the health club at the Ozone (which might include the unit the club shop is in) FIROKA (PRIORY HOTEL) LIMITED - company set up for the planned hotel next to the Priory FIROKA (OXFORD CINEMA) LIMITED - company which operated the cinema before Vue took over. ------- FIROKA : - KINGS CROSS LIMITED - I think owns the hotel at Kings Cross ALEXANDRA PALACE LIMITED - company set up for the planned development there CITY LIMITED - hotel/conference at Barbican? HEYTHROP PARK - the hotel and golf course - also could be head office for Firoka. STUDELY CASTLE - hotel and conference centre

I think London Welsh will win their appeal; they are a pretty well-connected lot.
And we will be sharing the stadium with them. I bet Mr Cottonsocks will be pleased.
And you know what there's not a whole lot that OUFC supporters can do about it. I would hope that Kelvin and management will make the best of a seemingly unpromising hand and maximise our club's interests. Maybe some cross marketing opportunities, might encourage some rugby followers over to see us from time to time. Er that's it.
The main issue for me is will the pitch be able to cope? I think of Edgeley Park and shudder.
PS i'm not a great rugby follower but am not in the inverted snobbery camp that seems to have appeard on this thread.
To write it off as some class warfare,' people's game' v 'braying hoorays' is just small minded.
Especially since the oval ball game went fully professional.

Reading seem to manage quite well but the pitch would be my main concern

No it's not small minded, but an appreciation of how far removed we (Oxford United and it's followers) have become from ever being a proper club, with a proper home, a proper future, and a proper identity. What bound us together in the past has gone. What future do we have? What identity will be left in a few years time? We're just a money making vehicle for kassam. I used to be so bloody proud of being an Oxford fan.......now, we're well on the way to being the sort of club I used to despise, weak, a laughing stock, unable to compete on an even playing field with the Shrewsburys, Crawleys, and dare I say it the swindons of this world. We can't do f*ck all about it! We will have to share with a bunch of rugby fans who are not even from Oxford. f*cking shameful, that's what it is.

As depressing as that certainly is, what is/was the alternative? AFC Oxford and the southern premier?
