Ken please see the results and act accordingly. If you've got the majority of fans behind you then fine, fight the fight. If the vote goes against you then give it up. Only fascist dictators carry on regardless in the face of mass public opinion.

Sorry, but Ken is "special". He doesn't see things like most people do, and I dare say he doesn't give a toss what the majority say. In fact, if most people vote against his campaign, that will probably spur him on. He's protecting the silent minority you see - the children.
Anyway, do you have ruddy2011's permission to run this poll?

Ken irritates the hell out of me on radox after matches, BUT... fair play tio him. I've stopped going in the North Stand because of the language and vitriol spouted by a small number of our lads in there. The bottom part of the North Stand is far enough away to not be bothered by them, and that seems to be where the club put all the youngsters who are there for days out with their football teams. But the view there isn't great.
I think Ken has a point, why do we have stewards when they just stand there and let people incite trouble, swear constantly and make the match experience all the poorer for many people? I know that if I take my kids to football they will hear some bad language, but last season Matt Green missed a sitter and a bloke behind me and my lad screamed "f*ck off back to Torquay Green you f*cking C**t." I turned round and looked at him and he seemed totally oblivious of what he'd done.

The fact that Ken is so over the top in his presentation tends to obscure the fact that on occasions he does have a valid point. The North stand is always used to house the kids teams that perform at the ground along with their minders and families. It may not be the family area but the kids are there in numbers on occasion. Should we tolerate obscene language in that case. Not as far as I am concerned.

I genuinely am not into self-importance. I am genuinely upset that the young families are having to listen to obscene language in the North Stand. I will be at the Oxford Mail Stand on Tuesday's match to let off steam. I think the fans in the Oxford Mail Stand, in spite of the ripe language, are the backbone of our support.
Believe it or not I couldn't care a damn about looking important or prestige or anything like that. I agree that I do come across as extreme sometimes. Sorry, but this is not to attract attention to me but is just my style. I understand why some forum members feel this way about me but if they knew me they would realise that this is genuine.
I am making a stand against the bullies who are entering the North Stand because of the young families. Nothing to do with attracting attention to me. You can believe this or not. I am happy to have a coffee with any member to give my views, but of course this will be seen as attracting attention again. So what can I say. I will continue with my attempts to stop yobs shouting obscenities in front of children and young families. Ken

Can anyone tell me why I have had my postings blocked on all the threads. If my views are so irrelevant why has this happened? It strikes me that the the intolerance is coming from the Yellows forum members not me. I would do everything possible to allow everyone their views even those which I find pretty deplorable. I am described as a dictator. But surely this is the worst from of dictatorship.

Strange, I could have sworn I just read a post of yours complaining about your posts being blocked. And what's with all the "x" and "mmm" posts? If you can post "x" or "mmm" you can post something meaningful (or perhaps not in your case). EDIT - By the way, only the board owner (Eaststandboy) and, possibly, moderator malcolmnl can interfere with posts, not ordinary members.

Please explain to me why your first thought after a game is to press the Rad Ox button on your phone? Has anyone asked you to set up this campaign? Why didn't you raise the isssue at the recent Oxvox meeting to guage opinion? I support the aims of your campaign because I believe that foul and abusive language does adversely affect the club. However, I beleive that your way of operating will fail to achieve anything other than alienate the vast majority of fans because you clearly do not care about other people's thoughts and feelings.

Well, it may well be that I am at times too extreme in the way I put across my views and this alienates a lot of fans. But the fact is that the problem of young families and others being genuinely upset by fans who seem unaware or don't care about their feelings exists. Nothing seems to be done by anyone to resolve this problem. Everyone just talks and talks and a lot of fans agree with my view and are upset. I will happily forget the whole thing if the club takes action against yobs who don't care a damn about others.
Do you need Ken's help? NO. Does something need to be done to protect the interests of young families and attract other young supporters? YES.
Far from being the dictator it is those fans who want to dictate to others that they have to have their feelings and their childrens' families offended who are the dictators. I will happily forget all this if the club, at the large matches, provides more protection in the North Stand.
I am not trying to dictate to others that they should not be able to swear and curse (no problem for me) but to request that they take into account the feelings of others in the North Stand. Would they behave like this in front of their own grandchildren or their friends' children? I doubt it.
This whole issue is irrelevant to my views or my style. So forget me and just think about whether you would want this sort of behaviour or obsene language in front of your own children or your friends' children. If not, then you must agree that it is not right in front of other young families. Ken

Yellowbroski's post demonstrates who cares a damn and who doesn't. You are right I am not interest in the majority view but the silent majorit view who are intimated by bullies. Mr. Yellowbroski I am sure you have a more reasonable point of view but it is pointless simply throwing abuse at me. It spurs me on since this is exactly the sort of behaviour that causes the problem. Ken
BUT REMEMBER, MY PERSONALITY AND STYLE ARE NOT RELEVANT. THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE AND IT DOES NOT EXCUSE ANYONE FROM TAKING SOME SORT OF ACTION TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT ABOUT ME!!!!!!!!!!!

If I don't talk about football first on the radio they won't let me talk about my concern about young families.
Moreover, I had never been in the East part of the North Stand with my 3 year old great great nephew before and certainly not at the KT OxVox meeting otherwise I would have raised the matter at that meeting.
BUT FORGET ABOUT WHETHER YOU LIKE ME OR MY STYLE. I AM INSIGNIFICANT IN ALL THIS. CONCENTRATE PLEASE ON THE ISSUE!!!!!

Hi Travisrice - dictators exist because no one challenges them. It is only when a minority makes a stand that things change. I am not the dictator the bullies are. They want to have their way and shout obscene language and act aggressively to intimate young families at will.
I may be 61 but I will never never never give in until this stops. I am going to the Oxford Mail Stand on Tuesday night for a good old shout. I am not a Mary Whitehouse AND MY VIEWS AND STYLE ARE NOT THE ISSUE. I HAVE NO OBJECTION TO ANY FORM OF LANGUAGE IF IT DOESN'T OFFEND THOSE AROUND ME.
SO I DO CARE ABOUT ALL FANS' FEELINGS. OBSCENE LANGUAGE IS LIKE WATER OFF A DUCK'S BACK FOR ME. I AM PROUD OF MY WORKING CLASS BACKGROUND AND IN THE BLACKBIRD PUB SWEARING USED TO BE THE ORDER OF THE DAY EXCEPT IN FRONT OF YOUNG FAMILIES AND WOMEN.
IF ANYONE THINKS SPEAKING ON THE LOCAL OXFORD RADIO MAKES ME FEEL IMPORTANT, THEY NEED TO GET A LIFE! IGNORE ME PLEASE BUT NOT THE ISSUE. Ken

Yes Salaghaf, some older fans are very upset by swearing and obscene language and their feelings should be considered too. Just because they belong to a different generation with different standards doesn't mean they are wrong. BUT FORGET ABOUT ME AND CONCENTRATE ON THE ISSUE! Please, Ken.

I never give in if the cause is just. This swearing will not stop completely even in inappropriate areas but it will be greatly reduced. I promise you. I will always conduct a non-aggressive campaign and no one has asked me to start this campaign. I need no one's permission.
But I assure you that something will be done sooner or later. I don't want to get hurt at the age of 61 and I hope reasonable persuasion will produce results.
But if the culprits are reading this, understand even if it takes the next 10 years of my life I will not give in to this bullying behaviour and I will involve the police if necessary. This is illegal behaviour. Ken

Hicko - you are better than this. Forget me and think about the issue. It has be solved before the yobs who don't care about anyone else and just want to bring attention to themselves whilst upsetting others encroach further and further into other stands where fans don't like foul language and are upset by it.

Ken, I'm moving this thread and all others connected to your campaign to the Stadium section. The Matches section is about football and not the behavioural of a few of the fans. And I agree it may be a problem but you can never stop this. And even if you should succeed in toning down the language of the Oxford fan you would never be able to control the away fans, who also have their own sets of colourful speakers.
So please, comment all you like on matches in the Matches section and keep your campaign in the Stadium section.
Also would you please refrain from using the reported posts option when you just have a question, technical or otherwise, to the administration. The function "Personal message"can be used for private chats with anybody on this forum including the administration.
One last point, you complained about posts vanishing and asked for communication through your email. I wrote to you Friday asked for more detailed information but as not have not received a reply. Therefore I will assume that this is no longer a problem.

There is a family area in the south stand, that is where families should go. End of story, no need for a campaign if you don't like the language then go there. As long as away fans are situated in that stand you will always get the language etc.
