I'd say Rooney has probably done a bit more than Aguero, but they are fairly similar...

Haven't seen much of Aguero but I bet he's got better technical ability, he's been compared to Maradonna hasn't he?

35 million for Andy Carroll is utterly, utterly ridiculous. This is a guy who's never played Champions League football. Has played one international (in which he looked technically deficient for that level). And has played half a season of Premiership football. Yes, he has bags of potential. He's big, strong and looks a great finisher. But that shouldn't cost you 35 million quid. 35 million quid should be buying you someone who's a proven star at the highest levels of the game.....like David Villa for example That fee makes Carroll the 8th most expensive player of all time. Liverpool are a bunch of mentalists...... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfer_(association_football)#Highest_fees

Players who can play as a lone striker and be the fulcrum of the teams attack can be invaluable. Look how important Drogba is for Chelsea and Davies is for Bolton. It's a very difficult role to play plus Carroll is only 22 and I think he has the make up to be another Alan Shearer. Plus Liverpool do look very lightweight in attack, all they have after Torres is Ngog!! I think he's worth about £25M but Liverpool had to pay more to get their man. Also look at the net spend Torres -£50M Carroll £35M Suarez £23M Net Spend = £8M

I wouldn't really value Torres at 50 million either, so although they paid over the odds for Carroll they can take comfort from the fact that they managed to sell Torres for about 15-20 million above his market value.
In the next five years we will definately see the first £100million transfer, and I reckon it will involve either Man City, Chelsea or Real Madrid, as they are the only teams stupid enough to spend such sums of money.

Nah, I reckon Anelka will move on. He's been at Chelsea a full two years now - that's quite a long time for him! He must be the most expensive journeyman ever! ;D
