Feck off back to Swansea Pep. What a two-time idiot. The second bit of evidence is that he came from Leeds, not Swansea.

The problem is with cups the rotation thing can easily bite you in the arse. We obviously became complacent by half time. Does anyone think if tonight was a league game we'd have played as bad?

Another positive, no more hard fought and draining games in the EFL cup to worry about. More focus on the league. We went out in the first round last year didn't we? So it didn't help then.

Bad day at the office. We thought the job was done at half time.
Johnson was woeful, get him on the wing.
Martin is dogshit, let's hope Raglan isn't too bad. Can't believe how much weaker the defence looked than on Saturday.
Oh well, it's one f*cking game. Can't believe how much moaning there was in the stadium. Can't believe people are saying we're gunna struggle. Wind your f*cking necks in you moaning twats.
Bring on Pompey.

Not really worried about the result so a great night's entertainment on that score.
I few from Saturday looked tired and heavy legged at times and we desperately need someone to take control of the midfield and left side of defence
I don't think the back four ever looked comfortable compared to Sat but in fairness they didn't get much respite because mid field was so ineffective.
Give Cheltenham some credit they worked very hard.
Still I have to say I did enjoy the game but this cup always throws up funny results and I think it starts too early in the season.
Contrary to what many have posted I. Don't think we were all that bad.

Very poor all over, but if Pep can't see that we need an out and out nasty striker up front after that shower, then there's no hope. Worse performance for a few years.

Chris Williams generally gives very good non yellow coloured glasses match report on the club site and I think he's pretty much on the money.
now back to that pub side from England's other centre of culture!!😄😄

If we are going to fail this season, then I'd rather fail now than at the business end. Whilst it was a thoroughly disappointing performance, Pep would've learnt a lot more about his players tonight than he would have vs Oldham. If we learn from this abject defeat then it'd be a nothing but a footnote in what could be an otherwise successful season.

On reflection it's the sort of performance that is to be expected. A massive change in personnel (I mean in the whole squad) means that it takes time to gel together. This usually means a good match followed by a bad match followed by and indifferent match and the cycle goes around again until the player eventually gel together. This is why I don't expect promotion this season since by the time we get it together we will be playing catch up and wont quite make - again!

Ruffels had one or two good moments, but we didn't really control the game through the middle it seemed to me. It was a little surprising given it's against a league 2 team, but hopefully just a one off. I'm looking forward to seeing whether Ricardinho and Tiendalli will add anything different at fullback and Pekalski in the centre of the pitch. It may well take time though. If we're going to lose early, I'd rather it be tonight in the cup and with the transfer window open than midseason in the league. It can be a wake up call, so maybe it's not too bad a thing.

There was simply no one tonight on that pitch that was going to take the ball into that box, time and time again and try to create something, from the possession we did have in the final third. Thats the type of player we need to complement the strikers that we do have, variety up front, if we're going to have any chance of the play offs.

I am going to try and forget this game was ever played, but while it's still in my head a few points
We are fucked if Aaron Martin ever has to play.
Ignoring the two foreign full backs that won't play for us for a while, we have real problems in these positions. Johnson and Ribeiro were Cheltenhams best players tonight, they gave them the ball in dangerous positions every time. Johnson didn't try and looks like he wants out and Ribeiro looks like a player who has been ruined by injuries. Carroll isn't a left back either, so we have essentially started the season without a left back which is a joke.
We were pretty bad everywhere but that should have been a win at a canter against a poor team, an embarrassing night.

What good does screaming 'Forward!' or 'Martin you're shit' at the top of your voice from the SSU do?

Obika did well up front against two very strong centre backs.
What worries me is we seemed to do a 'karanka', get a two goal half time lead and then try and defend it.
We should have ripped them apart in the second half, Hall was full of running just didn't receive the ball enough, there was too much 'tippy tappy' rather than being more direct and spreading the ball.
I wouldn't have brought Carroll on. He should have put ruffles left back, put rothwell in the middle and released Johnson down the left, have some pace and trickery on both wings!
In summing up. We should never try to defend a two goal lead at home to a lower division team. That's the time to spray the ball around and relax!

That was pure shit im afraid. To allow a pile of shit like Cheltenham to score 4 and miss about another 3 or 4 more is unbelieveable. To allow A pile of shit like Cheltenham to control the game second half is totally unacceptable. If we play like that in the league we will be going down.
We were playing long ball shit for the whole of the second half ffs.and we weren't good at it!
