Good news. It's mad how we have to use City's facilities though.

Good news. It's mad how we have to use City's facilities though. Why? It's part of the joint agreement between the clubs. Yes I know that. But I think a professional club having to work with a part time club to use its facilities highlights the situation we find ourselves with Kassam. In an ideal world we own our own facilities and don't have to rely on anyone else.

And a fair amount of work by Oxvox. Agree re Oxvox Less so that moaning on here has helped. I don't know about that. My take was that DE was keen to get the fans back on side and rebuild bridges. The criticsm on here has had an effect. Hat off to him for arranging the forum, no doubt he will face some awkward questions!

If anyone here who has burning questions about the club, there is the chance to do it. Go forth and question!

If anyone here who has burning questions about the club, there is the chance to do it. Go forth and question! Agreed, there have been some pretty strong questions and criticism on here, clearly this should be seen as an opportunity for those people to ask those questions now. Let's hope all those concerned attend, ask their questions and then hopefully we can move on.

If anyone here who has burning questions about the club, there is the chance to do it. Go forth and question! That is exactly the right spirit. This is the opportunity we have asked for; better late than never and a positive move from Mr Eales. Let's hope it continues to be matched by an absence of reports of unfortunate incidents involving hagfish in Canada.

Yes and City will get the profits from hosting and the bar etc no doubt. Better than giving it to a certain Tanzanian.

My mother-in-law used to say "better the devil you know" but I suspect she may have been talking about Tasmanians. This relates to her asking my father about his experiences marshalling baggage trains of zebras in Palestine during the war; zoological geography wasn't her strongest suit.

Better than giving it to a certain Tanzanian. I think we get 50/50. Be interesting to know if that's just events we use it for, or if say we even get 50% of profits from bar sales at city home matches

Brings to mind why my Father wouldn't take Mother on safari, he said she would inevitably climb out of the Landrover to feed the "nice pussy cats".

Hat off to him for arranging the forum, no doubt he will face some awkward questions! When Jem met with Daryl at Oxford City last weekend, the OXVOX fans forum was agreed and we strongly advised an Open Fans Forum would be beneficial to the club. In addition, we have the Safety Meeting with Ian Mixter being organised too.

Almost like two different fan bases in one club

Do we really think the forum is a result of people on here moaning? I would very much doubt it.
I would guesstimate that we have between 50-75 regular posters on here, we have an average home support of 6000-6500. That equates to a tiny portion of our fanbase.
I would say it's more a result of two things, great work from oxvox and the fact there has been some kind of fans forum in each year he's been here.

Thing is , only those who didn't agree with it call it moaning, those of us accused of it were asking questions, one of which was the need for a fans forum. Oxvox also took a lot of stick for Interfering. And while there has been some kind of fans forum in each of the years the two Facebook ones have been very limited with questions able to be picked. It's great that there is now a full one. To be fair all the questions that need answering have already been put to Darryl by oxvox. It would be good to see the answers before the forum as it could save going over old ground

I hope everyone who has questions and people who have started numerous threads will be attending so they can ask their questions. Nothing wrong with that.

Indeed. It seems that Darryl has taken a change in stance, and is now being more open and accessible not only to oxvox but to fans in general as well. That all anyone has ever asked for, to get back to the open togetherness that was installed in the club under his and mark Ashton's control.
He's also started to address some of the concerns fans had.
Appointed a decent sensible choice as manager.
In talks with Brookes over a top training facility.
Improved the social media side of things back to more like under Sarah gooding.
Holding a live fans forum.
Long may it continue

Think this is a PR exercise for DE rather than for the benefit of the fans but welcome anyway. May be highly predictable content though? Not knocking DE at all - think he has been great for the club but communication isnt the clubs strong point, especially when there was so much speculation, and he has lost the confidence of some of the fans, and knows it. Time to wash his face.
He will talk about the last couple of months, the plans he had with MApp before he left and the failed takeover - keep it vague, just saying that it wasnt right for the club and whilst he would sell, he guarantees that whilst under his stewardship he will only do so if it is in the clubs best long term interests. Talk budget and accept his own limitations and stress that he has already put millions in but there is a limit, although we still have a competitive budget to attract top coaches/young players and remain ambitious, link to Peps appointment, the success of the tour, the incoming players, the expectation to be competitive whilst committed to playing an attractive attacking style, and finish by saying how brilliant the fans are and how important the support is and call for every fan to get behind the club. Vague when asked about the ground and WIP. Then invite everyone for a hotdog and a beer whilst supporters form a line to bow on one knee and beg forgiveness for ever doubting him :-)
Shame this cant be streamed.

I think he is a cracking chairman and I wasnt disappointed when the take over didnt happen. Dont think he has anything to answer for at all but needs to manage expectations.
