Think this is a PR exercise for DE rather than for the benefit of the fans but welcome anyway. May be highly predictable content though? Not knocking DE at all - think he has been great for the club but communication isnt the clubs strong point, especially when there was so much speculation, and he has lost the confidence of some of the fans, and knows it. Time to wash his face. He will talk about the last couple of months, the plans he had with MApp before he left and the failed takeover - keep it vague, just saying that it wasnt right for the club and whilst he would sell, he guarantees that whilst under his stewardship he will only do so if it is in the clubs best long term interests. Talk budget and accept his own limitations and stress that he has already put millions in but there is a limit, although we still have a competitive budget to attract top coaches/young players and remain ambitious, link to Peps appointment, the success of the tour, the incoming players, the expectation to be competitive whilst committed to playing an attractive attacking style, and finish by saying how brilliant the fans are and how important the support is and call for every fan to get behind the club. Vague when asked about the ground and WIP. Then invite everyone for a hotdog and a beer whilst supporters form a line to bow on one knee and beg forgiveness for ever doubting him :-) Shame this cant be streamed. Very good and not far off the mark I would expect, club communications have been poor recently and this has led to spiraling rumours and speculation.

Do we really think the forum is a result of people on here moaning? I would very much doubt it. I would guesstimate that we have between 50-75 regular posters on here, we have an average home support of 6000-6500. That equates to a tiny portion of our fanbase. I would say it's more a result of two things, great work from oxvox and the fact there has been some kind of fans forum in each year he's been here. I agree with the gist of your post but, I think the club have taken notice of this forum and some of it's threads, they are now monitoring what's said on here and you have a group that defend the club/de rightly or wrongly to try and quieten any comments perceived to be critical. The Oxford mail also use this forum as a barometer of fans feelings often using quotes from posts put on here, and the like of cm can spout his flimflam on here as fact for a greater audience than his "email group" to read. So yes in my opinion this forum has/is a important part of what happens at OUFC, in the past the club, managers and players have reacted to things said on here, from my prospective this is a place to enjoy, moan, air frustrations and generally use it for fans communications and interactions, far too many people seem to get hung up on every word of a poster they agree or disagree with and it can became a toxic place.

I think that people have to stop characterising concerns, analysis and other people's opinions as 'moaning'.
There are only two or three people on here whose sole purpose seems to be to gripe. Everyone one is much more balanced. And this place is very different to going to a match or even a preseason tour. You will get virtually solid support and little questioning on those occasions, even from those who like to do a bit of being a virtual 'critical friend' on the forum!

Let's hope the questions to Eales are polite, fair and balanced. Not aggressive and overly-negative. A little bit of respect required even if we do question some of his actions.

Eales can say what he likes about the subjects he wishes.. That can go only go on for so long. Then you'll get the chance to question him 1 to 1 on the subject of your choice. You could also pick him up on anything you happen to disagree with. Hey, you could even tell him you're off the drink and are a vegetarian for all I care! Just make sure you go and ask a f*cking question!

I suspect at least one of the players that left earlier in the year used to spend too much time on here (and social media), worrying about what people wrote about him.
