Out by Christmas I reckon along with his mate Shakespeare. The last bloke won the league and still got the push. Just looking on Foxestalk and it's absolutely toxic. Their fans want CS gone now. Many are disappointed they rescued a point against WBA tonight because they were hoping for a loss to see him sacked. Sounds as though Leicester are devoid of any confidence and were poor again tonight. I would be surprised if he made it to Christmas. Don't blame Mapp for trying the Prem, but it will be back to the lower leagues for him. How long before we're playing against him, whoever that is?

Appleton takes temporary charge, loses 3 games. Before replacing JFH at Northampton

Appleton takes temporary charge, loses 3 games. Before replacing JFH at Northampton Can see it now. Replacing JFH at Northampton get them relegated before saying it's a chance to prove your the best team in league 2. Before returning to Oxford in the summer to form a dream partnership with PEP.

Appleton takes temporary charge, loses 3 games. Before replacing JFH at Northampton Tempoary charge can see that, but, the gardening leave will be massive. Megson at ours is on a 7 figure sum. Safe bet to say Appleton is somewhere close. If I were him I'd take both the time off and the cash as his only two successes were you as manager, and, us as The Head of the Academy

Have to see what clubs in the Midlands sack managers. Coventry might fancy him.

It's purely hypothetical, but would we want him back? I was gutted when MAPP left, but if I had to choose between the two of them now I think I'd stick with Pep.

f*ck him. Loved him when he was here but he left us right in the shit when he left. Full credit to Eales and Pep for picking up the pieces like the've done because him walking away when he did could have cost us massively..
Still, he's got his 5 mins in the bigtime. Got a good payout. Seems to forget that his reputation will once again be shit when it comes to getting back in the managerial business.

Don't forget there was a lot of uncertainty at the time in terms of a potential takeover and who knows whether new owners would have kept him. Also I'd assume Appleton would have had more of an idea as to whether he was getting a budget for 2017/18 that would allow him to realistically challenge for promotion, or if he might have to consolidate for that season. Plus the issues in relation to the training ground and the academy. So I'd say he left on a high with promotion, two Wembley finals, a reputation for good football, bringing on players, and also having some decent transfer fees.

Wow, those Leicester fans have made their minds up early. I'm surprised with the level of negativity against him and he's only been there 5 minutes! His appearance is pretty unusual for a football manager/coach but appearances are deceptive and he comes across as an articulate, intelligent guy. However there is no chance he will get the manager's gig long term given their recent history of employing from within after Ranieri's departure. I've got nothing but praise for Appleton after the job he did for us and totally understand why Leicester was a job he couldn't turn down. Unfortunately for him it looks as though things aren't going to work out for him from a footballing perspective and I wonder where he will go next (assuming the new Foxes manager will want new back room staff). Surely not Northampton post JFH??!

Paraphrasing something Paul B said in a fans view I think, but isn't there just a little bit inside everyone that delights in seeing players/managers move on from Oxford, and then fail? It's like hearing about an ex getting callously dumped by the guy she left you for.
I don't hold any personal grudge against Appleton, Johnson, O'Dowda, Maguire and so on for a second. But a tiny grubby part of me delights when it doesn't work out for them, and I think "that'll teach you for thinking there are better places to be than OUFC".
Not that I'm proud of it of course.

A lot depends on whether we moved them on or they decided to leave. I don't begrudge any of them moving on for improved conditions etc, but unless there is a sell on then I too am not wishing them any luck for the future. if we move them on then I do hope they find success elsewhere.

I always enjoyed seeing Deano do well at stoke and Sunderland.
If there are future potential payments I like to see them do well
If I've told mates that they're awesome I like to see them do well so they don't laugh at the quality of our league
Otherwise yes the failures can be a "don't leave me baby " moment

Someone should go on there and put them right they're clueless. Judging him on Blackburn job etc. and completely making assumptions about his character based in his look.
I imagine given time he'd be better than most big name appointments ....shows what's wrong with the epl and British game generally when people are more keen to appoint allardyce than a manager like mapp who is calm, thoughtful, progressive, articulate, evolving, and excellent at maximizing player potential
