We were good but they were terrible. Considering how big their squad is, it looked really poor across the board. Lowe should've gone for that challenge, just awful and pre-meditated. I thought MAPP was going to deck Lowe and he deserved it.
Bury provided a lovely tune up for Sunday, the players had a decent run out and didn't have to play more than 80%. Couldn't have asked for more. Good to see Rothwell kick on in the game and start to really influence it. Connor did well today, obviously... Marv won't be with us next season barring a miracle, he's destined for better things.

Johnson on a different planet, just cruising around at this level.
Personally, I thought Rothwell was MOTM, great going forward and back tracking. As above, the link up with Johnson had Bury all over the place.
Ruffels steady, Dunkley no nonsense, Hemmings holding the ball up and forcing errors from the Bury back line.
Enjoyable night, some lovely football, some dodgy refereeing (Johnson nearly had his legs chopped off)

It's my first game back after injury (missed the last 2 games). I thought we were good. Very professional and managed the game well. They were terrible, though. Long journey home for sure. I cannot wait to see Johnson running at people on the big Wembley pitch! Really pleased. Great nights work lads! See most of you Sunday.

33 scouts were there tonight. Must have been a pack night out or something... During the Bolton game the commentators said scouts were there to watch Johnson. Others too, I'm sure, but they singled him out.

Excellent performance about time we stuffed someone at home and against the sort of side we usually struggle against.
We did get away with some bad defensive mix ups early on but then settled and totally outplayed them.
Disagree about Hemmings playing well that guy just isnt getting any better imop He did chase down a lost cause and won a corner before being subbed thats about it
Get wemebley out of the way and have a go at them playoffs please lads.

What an absolute doddle that was. Nice to see us take a team to the cleaners, although how they'd kept four clean sheets in a row I don't know, they've played some decent teams as well.
Thought Johnson was a cut above again and Rothwell also had a great game, I'd love to see him in the middle as he looks a little lost out wide. He has fantastic feet and a superb first touch.
I'm still a bit annoyed that Lowe wasn't shown a red, that tackle was an absolute disgrace and a potential season ender. To not give a red for that the ref is inviting similar tackles and someone could have been seriously hurt. I'm surprised someone of Lowe's age and experience would do something like that. He's not a wet behind the ears teenager, he's played for two decades now and should be having a look at himself.

5-0 win. Stuff the naysayers. 😉😉 Best performance of the season albeit against a back four that looked they'd be on crystal meth for a week,. Rothwell and Hall will start on Sunday, Ruffs deserves to - but won't. He is having a very decent season Interesting that we played at much quicker pace without Maguire. Thought Hemmings was much improved as well. The atmosphere was crypt like . Why?

Thought MAPP may have subbed Edwards with 15 to go to give Ribiero a run but I would certainly like to keep Edwards next season a bit of healthy competition for the RB spot

Joe Skarz must be feeling low. Second season at Wembley and he probably don't get to play again. Unless MApp decides that maybe a Wembley final isn't the best time to play Johnson at LB and wants him on the wing.

Johnson will be left back on Sunday in any event.

For a side that had lost only once in the previous ten games Bury were total crap! Who the hell were they playing to get those wins! We played well it is true, but Bury sure helped us big time!
Having said that you can only beat what is put in front of you!

Bury were a poor side indeed. I saw the game at Bury back in December, they seemed no better tonight but we were excellent, played with a good tempo and excellent finishing, without Maguire in the team. Sky highlights are here: www.skysports.com/football/oxford-utd-vs-bury/359148

After tonight's performance, Dunkley is clearly capable of playing at Championship level. Let's enjoy him while he's here this season.

Appleton must be utterly delighted with the performance tonight (even though the first thing he mentioned in interview was the Bury goal). We all know that the players have a certain message that they trot out (one game at a time; need to make sure we win tonight; won't be pulling out of tackles) that basically comes from him drilling them. But, by God they went out there tonight like it actually was Wembley, not some dodgy, bobbly, late season pitch in OX4.
I know McAleny was MOTM and I wouldn't argue with that at all, but I will say Nelson, Rothwell and in particular Edwards were awesome. Johnson a class above. Hemmings worked his socks off. And as for Lunny. Well. Captain's game. Well played sir, and I can't wait to see you lead out the Yellows on Sunday.
All round performance, possibly the best I've seen all season. And such timing.
NOW, they can think about Sunday.

Where are all the usual posters moaning that the players are distracted by Wembley etc? They obviously weren't tonight... Or were playing for a starting place on Sunday as it was the last game before then. Even Appleton alluded to the fact that Wembley may have affected some players performances in the last few matches. Anyway, a very good performance tonight, and as said before the game if all 3 results went our way then the playoffs are definitely still possible. Let's get Wembley out of the way and concentrate on the proper games.

Great stuff, and like many others I was not expecting that. Looking at the Sky highlights it is clear the finishing was very clinical. But anyone else think the goal celebrations were a little bit subdued....?
