A bit of context - since the start of 2015-16 we've played 108 matches and have only lost 25 of them. Only one of those defeats has been more than two goals. That's good going generally.
No shame in losing to this lot tonight. They're champions elect and we fought to the end as we always do.

Oh well, it is a bit encouraging we made a bit of a game of it and scored a couple. Don't think we'll have to play them next season.

Sorry but "tiredness" doesn't cut it as an excuse.
These are young, healthy, full-time professional athletes, with a certain amount of squad rotation possible.
We have a dedicated sports science department. If we're not planning for our players to feature in 60+ games a year, then questions need to be asked of the fitness dept.
I just think Sheffield United were better tonight. I can't see that it's any more complicated than that.

Well that's frustrating. Hemmings did nothing today, doesn't even make it look like he's trying to win a header. Should have been off at 1-1 not wait till we're 3-1 down. Maguire is so frustrating so many times today all he had to do was stick out a foot and he would have won the ball. Pulled out of 50/50s as well and just looked like his head dropped. Hard to pick a motm. Slightly better berformance than sat but only just. Why The hell do we think watering the pitch is a good idea. Home form just lacking this season. But fair play to Sheffield they looked good

The main difference between the two teams was that they had forwards who can score goals and we didn't.

I think it's easy to have a knee-jerk reaction and be disappointed after two defeats in four days. I think we all were perhaps, myself included, caught up in a wave of unbridled optimism until recently, with our cup runs and good results against teams below us in the league leading us to believe we were destined for bigger and better things.
So lets have some perspective. It now looks pretty certain we aren't going to go up this year, given we have home games (which seems to be our achilles heel) against Scunny, Bolton and Fleetwood before the end of the season. Our weaknesses have been harshly exposed in the last few games - poor squad depth, inability to compete against physical sides and bizarre failure to perform at home. But this should not detract from the overwhelming positives we have identified in the last few months. We have several young, hungry players who are destined to play in higher leagues. We have an improving manager who has clearly begun to recognize and address the demands of this league. We have seen that, on our day, even our current squad is capable of going toe-to-toe with most teams in England. And perhaps most importantly, we have attracted an exposure, through our obviously attractive environment for developing young players, a second Wembley final in two years and our performances in the FA Cup, that should make us a very appealing proposition for summer recruitment.
Yes we have suffered a knock to what we thought was achievable this season in the last week, but provided we finish top half and continue to beat the teams we should be beating, I think we can look ahead with a huge amount of optimism.

Yeah, you're right that it was most likely deliberately timed but at the same time, who cares? Still minor and not worth getting riled by in my view. 12 games left to get to the playoffs, it looks a tough ask but it's not over til it's over. Onto Peterborough. That's worth caring about.

Pretty sure they had two shots - a penalty and a deflected effort - and scored three goals. Second goal was a cross. That's something.

It's a classless from Wilder. Rad Ox's point of he won't do that at every away games sets the correct tone for it. He just turns the OUFC fans that don't mind him, against him for no real reason other than he's a knob. How soon will he screw his boyhood club over for a better job? They can't say they weren't warned.
It was a game of small margins. Today, they went against us. If it is a penalty for them, can't see why the Ref didn't give in their box. A strange time for a whistle happy Ref to go quiet and timid. He let their 19 get all cuddly with Dunks in the box when the rules are pretty clear about contact (I thought). Marv gets better and better.
