The EFL release a statement about Orient that is just odd. They seem more concerned about the final (meaningless) game going ahead than staff getting paid. They announce a meeting with the Leyton Orient Supporters Trust that LOST had been told is confidential and not to be publicised. And finally, and most bizarrely they 'clarify' the fit and proper persons test for owners/directors by saying it only tests if they are 'eligible' not whether people have the 'capability to manage clubs properly'! What is the point of it then? The fit and proper test is a joke. There is no point in it and the FA really need to look at making it proper checks including the intentions of the owners.

Game still not finished. Apparently they are blaming the football league for the relegation.
No sympathy at all.

I do sympathise with the mismanagement they have suffered but Colchester are fighting for a play off spot so very disrespectful to them, especially when they have been asking for support from other fans to aid in their plight.
You've made your point, get off the pitch and allow Colchester to get the three points and maybe a goal or 2 more. If we were in colchesters shoes now, we'd be livid.

Match called off. Got to be a points deduction for next season and award the three points to Colchester today to act as a deterrent for other clubs.

Completely undermining the competition.
Totally disgusting from Orient. Points deduction has to be enforced.

Well done orient fans. Oxford fans know what it's like to have an owner who is not committed to the club. Their owner, an Italian in the waste disposal trade has looted the club sold off the best players, and left staff unpaid.
Their previous owner Barry Hearn got 4 million for selling to Becchetti. I back fellow fans against dodgy owners every time. Solidarity. How The FA & the EFL let a man like Becchetti own a club is the real scandal.

Be interesting if Colchester miss out on the play offs by one goal, they would of had time to get one against the team with one of the worst home records ever and who they had already scored 3 against. The FL will bottle it and offer Col U the 3 points and 3-1, or a replay of the whole game, meaning they have to play mid week when everyone else has a rest. Given how tight the play offs are this could well cause a lot of shit, they will hammer Orient for it, if they still exist.

But i support fellow fans against dodgy owners. the man who seemed to have behaved worst-Barry Hearn is the man who made 4 million selling his club to someone who should never have been allowed to buy it. The idea that the FA are more bothered about the last five minutes than an owner who doesn't pay wages or taxes and has some extremely dodgy business connections is a disgrace. Shame that Oxford United fans who've had our share of dodgy owners won't support them.

Shame that Oxford United fans who've had our share of dodgy owners won't support them. When he first took over he spent plenty of money (badly), he paid the wages and taxes for over two years as well. How were the FA/FL supposed to know this would happen 2 years down the line. Nearly 100% of Orient fans backed his takeover as he was going to fund their push into the championship. Having took over then having done what he did what where the FA/FL supposed to do? Fine him? He wouldn't pay. Take points off of Orient? They don't have many and he doesn't care. Relegate them? That's just impatient. Unless they go down the franchise route then the FA/FL have very little power over club owners who go AWOL. The fit and proper nonsense is a joke, but mainly because the football authorities do not have the ability to see into the future or tell when someone is lying, and the Bechettis of this world rarely come straight out and tell you they are cunts. Orient got unlucky and got an extremely incompetent millionaire who threw the toys out of his pram spectaculary when he spent his money badly and he didn't get his own way.

I would support SOME fans against dodgy owners. Most fans even. But these wankers I will not.
They were disrespectful at our lowest hour, in a big way. Since then they have tried to rewrite the history of that day on message boards, tried to take the p*ss with their chants to us at their place last season ("we made your kids cry" was one chant), and continue to try to take the p*ss to this day.
Now the boot is on the other foot and they're the ones suffering and you expect us to show empathy? No, no, no, no a thousand nos. They deserve all the misery they're currently getting and that's coming to them. Go away Orient, for a long time. Learn some manners, some respect, and some humility. Then and only then will they be ready to return, but even then, I'll forever hate the bastards for how they behaved in 2006 and since.

Just glad it didn't cost Colchester the points or having to have a replay. And orient get a suitable punishment for two stoppages due to Flairs and an abandonment

I think this actually sets a bit of a precedent, Orient's deserved suffering aside. The EFL will lie to fans just to fulfill their fixtures. And then there's the abomination trophy... But let's not go there.

The I don't think you're an appropriate person to have anything to do with our fans organisation. We need a calm head. not a childish grudge bearer What the f*ck has that got to do with anything ? Maybe he's exactly the sort of person you want representing fans as he shares the view with the majority on here on this subject. Are you suggesting oxvox should have a fit and proper persons test? I take it you will be putting your name and free time forward in the coming elections ?
