A decent performance against a very up and down opposition - I'm just talking about the 21. I think a gust of win has just hit him and he fell over again. Dive, dive, dive! A largely decent and on it performance. The players looked motivated and not as passive as we've seen recently and we scored goals because of it. The bookings were harsh considering some players got let off for worse things. Their manager waiting until half time to make changes cost them the game. I can see why they have been down at the bottom. No physical presence from the CBs should embarrass them. I felt sorry for Skarz, booked harshly and then clattered by Dunkley accidentally. Whoever the loud mouth was in the East Stand criticising the medical staff should keep thoughts to himself because it was embarrassing to listen to. If it's the same person I saw then I couldn't tell you if he was off his tits or on day release. He was shouting "dead, dead, dead" at one point. I heard a few random pronouncements from that chap and none made sense whatsoever. The abuse of the medical staff was the most embarrassing though.

Any way of listening to the MApp interview done by rad ox online? tun.in/thEA1rYou can listen via Tunein Radio if you have the app (free) on your phone, not sure if you need it via a laptop though. They always seem to have listen again programmes up before the official BBC Oxford page.

Na it doesn't fit. And now you're going to believe us Queen's English don't work for football songs ....ever. Try again... I was correcting "staying up" to "going up", not "gonna" to "going".

Amazing result. Listened to the first half on YP, best 45 mins all season. And seems Hemmings played a blinder. So proud.
Now, come on, please beat the Gills

I know it was an of your face game we were superb absolutely brilliant........BUT WTF only 6 pages I say again only 6 pages Would have been a lot less if I hadn't posted scores from other matches I think a lot of the regulars were either at the match or had something better to do. And exiles sometimes have to sacrifice sleep to be online. Considering our last 4 games it is no suprise that the online attendance is down. Why even Mr Cannell was online but had little to say. His good right of course.

I think this just goes to show that perhaps Sercombe's injury is a blessing in disguise. We looked a different team today.

Great all round performance yesterday very strong and giving the opposition no time to settle on the ball. In defence we were no nonsense and if needed we put a foot through the ball and we playied some great football going forward without over passing. Best performance for some time roll on Tuesday

Hall and Macca gave balance to the team. We played a lot of one touch pressing football, a massive difference from Millwall.
Macdonald's industry really helped Edwards.
Plus Nelson is now match fit.
And Hemmings had some support up front.
Cov couldn't cope.
I have never wavered that we have a good squad and will have a good season.
We will win the next two.
Feel free to bookmark😉

We were excellent yesterday. Much more direct and we flew out of the blocks with a real purpose and gameplan. The midfield and strikers were always on the move and it unsettled Coventry, who looked terrible. Our first and second goals would have been painful viewing for Coventry fans, but credit to Hemmings and Maguire for making them.
It seemed like yesterday there was much more desire to just get the ball in the box and to do it quickly. We didn't give their defence time to settle and we created lots of opportunities from it. It was a far cry from constantly rolling the ball round the defence and midfield whilst the opposition set themselves for it.
Hall looked sharp too, I'm very excited about his return.

What would be the only slight worry for me is, this looks to be by far the best formation and tactic we have found, and we have players like ruffles Rothwell and Johnson who can slot in with out making the side much weaker, same with the defence . The problem will be options off the bench/ cover for hemmings, even maguire can be understudied by Crowley. But now with Thomas possibly facing another long spell out, and Taylor not that sort of player, it only leaves Tyler Roberts. Maybe a chance for James Roberts, but I have a feeling that seeing he's hardly ripping it up at city his time may have gone.

Well, which United will turn up, I wonder? If Oxford United, the one we love and trust are ready and roaring to go, then we should lose by the odd goal (1-2, with Dunkley scoring) Att: 8979 and 1454 away fans. The problem at the moment is, sadly to say, its incredibly hard to predict a sensible outcome with our recent performances (you may have noticed that my predictions have been somewhat off the mark, so to say). The directors' box hasn't yet exploded, nor has the scoreboard. Skarz hasn't been showing affection to Dunkley, like I've been forecasting, of late. No fractured coccyx's or dislocated clavicles. No mistimed headers from the aforementioned Dunkley. No Clint Eastwood quotes from our goalkeeper. The refs have, in fact, remembered to bring their whistles and weren't given stupid other instruments to use. MA hasn't actually had a nervous breakdown and ended up in the local 'bin' (er, that might just change today, of course). The floodlights haven't blown a fuse and no stupid birds have accidentally flown into them. No away fans have brought any dopey musical instruments into our three-sided arena. None of our players have had sex with other, after scoring a bloody goal. This is all down to our indifferent performances, which have caused havoc with my match predicting abilities. However, today, I can feel a positive vibe coming on (no dildo jokes, please!) Yes..................... a dog will run onto the pitch during today's game. That just about does it for me. And he was bl**dy good. Sign him up MApp. According to Coventry fans one sub, Jodi Jones, absolutely bricked himself when the dog was charging at him for the ball, causing some mirth.

I haven't been over that side of the east stand for a while so thought a change with the potential to sit down in my own self pity if it had gone Pete tong would be a welcome change. Never again will I leave the sanctuary of Block 19. Beside said chap were three others who needed a slap too, chucking paper at supporters and repeatedly shouting random names. Space cadets of the highest order.

These next two (I think three) are really big games. Seven points from three would put us right back on track in a very tight league and all within the space of a week. 3-0 to us. Maguire, Hemmings and Hall. Not sure about Amersham Dave's dog but i'm sure it will appear somewhere.See you all there! Not a bad shout i'd say. Mind you Amersham Dave's dog was always on the cards.

I've been making jokes about Dunks going to head the ball, but missing, and usually ending up clonking Skarzy on different parts of his body, over the last year, in my match predictions. Talk about jumping up and biting you in the bum! Just hope Joe is OK. Dave (couldn't predict a loud noise even if an atom bomb blew up next to him) Cudd.

Round pegs in round holes o Saturday plus a large dose of motivation. Maybe that was Mapp's 'lightbulb moment'!! Cov were poor, but that is only our concern inasmuch as they look like a more likely candidate for a relegation battle than us. Even when we struggled at their place we were still competitive.
