I keep hearing an reading that the side needs time to gel. We have had 23 league cup matches and 8 friendlies so far. If they haven't gelled by now it's highly unlikely they ever will. Particularly with Tinkerman in charge.

I'm not to worried it's still very early and way to soon to be saying we're in a relegation battle. It was always going to take time for players to settle and the team to gel. That would be the biggest worry for me, the team needs to gel, but mapp doesn't seem to know what his best 11 is or what formation, until that's sorted the players will struggle, made harder still by playing people out of position like raglan and sercs. I'm still confident we have more than enough to finish comfortably and not be in a relegation battle, but it would be nice to see a bit of consistency sooner rather than later so we don't get towards squeaky bum time Titanic!

Na, not that Frosty yet, ain't even got to the bit where Kate gets her baps out. Don't forget we've been here before with people questioning what mapping can do and if he knows what's needed. We survived that despite others knowing that we're we're going down, and the following season guess what happened. Not a f*cking fiddle in sight here

It's a case of managing expections, You got promotion from league 2 with player who should've being playing a lot higher. People took notice and bought those players. One chose to stay in League 2. Relegation battle? nah, you're 6pts off the playoffs 2 pts off the bottom 4, if you were 10pts off 15th then it's a relegation battle. Fans were under the impression that the club was going to p*ss the league. Looks at Sheffield United a big club in a two team city, they've spent 6 years in this league. Thats how hard this is. The jump in quality to the Championship from League is even bigger. I think you'll finish mid-table safely

Just back from the game . shocked at the first half performance . Poor ..just really poor . Ok their goal was handball . But so what .. We never tackled , got anywhere near the second ball . Clueless ... And that is my point ,, we were clueless . We had no plan , no structure . Now I don't know if Edwards was injured or dropped but raglan as excellent a centre back as he is ., is no right back looked lost . Hemings can not lead the line because he can not hold a ball up . He is not a one up top player no way on this earth . Where was Crowley ? Great bit of spark last week ,,,out the team this . Liam out wide right where he is just lost . Ok we all around me were pleased Luny was dropped . First half over . Second half we came out and gave it a bit more of a go . Johnson looked dangerous and a threat down the wings ... Hemings missed his chance and Eastwood kept us in it . Cue the app new move ,,,take scarz off and put Johnson left back ...game over ... Johnson is no left back . He just stops all forward movement and stands there . Why didn't we go three at the back after all we had three centre backs ,,no four .. As scarz can play the left side .. . .? Beyond me . So we are chasing a point so when we covered a corner we bring everyone back yet they were leaving two back again why ? When Eastwood had the ball no quick counter attack and we saw what that can do in the last minute . App was to blame today .. Sorry but I've said it . No Crowley , no game plan , and no idea to change it . Plus side Nelsinho looked very good . But dunkly must get his hands off the opposition player cheap free kicks . Good to see hall back . Ref was poor the classic offside in our half was a joke . I am now worried ... We need some experience in midfield . And soon .. We needed Danny Hilton and jake Wright . To sum up square pegs in round holes in to many positions in the team . Trying to justify why we brought them in to the club .

This season feels eerily like the first one with MAPP. Up and down performances, disjointed, team being rotated and highly frustrating for the stupid mistakes. The away form is particularly concerning as it's so consistently bad and we haven't really put a decent performance in. Getting players like Hall and Ribeiro back will help, but we desperately need some grit in the team. Its all been so polite this season

The players have had all of this time to gel with each other. The constant changing which you rightly mention, is how Appleton's reign started off. Equally with all of the changing, do they know what system he wants them to play? Worrying times indeed.

Sorry have I not mentioned it enough already. A regular 11 A regular tactic/formation A couple of additions in Jan Round peg round holes Yes we're playing badly, yes we got beat by the team bottom. But we're 5 points off the playoffs, and it's only November.

But these aren't and haven't happened. 5 from the play offs, 2 from relegation zone, but I stick by the fact that the players themselves are capable of sustaining a play off push.

Most disappointed I've been with a performance this season. Just didn't get going ... little up front bar a brief spell in second half. Eastwood man of match by a mile, saved us from a drubbing. Move on... we'll be fine come January will be mid table - we've got squad for it, just going take some time. Get over the small matter of scunny, where I expect nothing (but wouldn't be surprised if we won), then onward and upward.

Get over the small matter of scunny, where I expect nothing (but wouldn't be surprised if we won), then onward and upward. It's not quite as simple as you say. To be mid-table come January (seven league games away, I think), we will need 30 points. That means winning 3 or 4 of those games. Not impossible, but not exactly a given! It's taking quite some getting used to, but at this level every team is capable of sticking it on us if we don't turn up. Cov and Shrewsbury were both bottom when we played them, but that didn't mean they tried to park the bus. They took advantage of us not turning up to hand out a good first-half tonking. So when we talk about consistency, it's not about consistency of skilfulness, it's consistently being fired up from minute 1 to match the other's side's hunger and intensity. If we do that, then surely we will have enough to be fine. But, equally, in the last month we haven't done it, so it's not (yet) a given.

Worrying signs that we are consistantly failing to beat the poorest teams in this league. How many are relegated from this league this season? Because we really need to start finding a way to win or we will be one of them. Games like these are starting to rack up with our strikers unable to provide us with the goals that we desperately need. We are not in a relegation fight just yet, but if we don't find a solution to this weak, exposed underbelly soon, we soon will be. Time for the players and the staff to earn their corn.

Why oh why do our fans seem to settle for mediocre? And no way would we have got £5m for Roofe. Put it this way, Leeds are probably feeling they paid too much for him anyway. The facts are, we're underperforming and it doesn't appear that we have the right personnel, mainly up top to turn things around. Thomas & Hemmings are not as good as we hoped/thought they'd be and MApp has finally woke up and seen what most thought of Taylor's ability. Oh and we've never replaced Baldock with anyone to his ability. You cannot legislate for over lapping full backs.

You're six points off the playoffs 2pts off 21st there's already a gap opening to 22nd. So 2 results and you shoot up the card. It's all about January bring some quality and you'll finish mid-table this year. I imagine the plan is finish 12th/13th this year and aim for top 10 next season. You're wrong about Roofe, an English player who scored a shedload. Forsum paid close to £5m for Paul Gladon at Wo1ve5 The going rate bumped up because there's rich foreign owners in the Championship. all after a cutting edge. The mistake was he sold early, It would have been an extra £2m in the kitty

Jeez that was frustrating yesterday!
First half is one of the worst performances I've seen from an Oxford side. We jst didn't have anything about us! I was so disappointed with lledson - he put himself about a little bit but I was expecting him to come in and run the game
I'm not convinced by macguire in that number 10 role - he floats about too much which leaves the striker isolated. When he's played out wide he's given that freedom to float and it doesn't leave us any worse off up top. I don't think we can do without Johnson on the left though so not really sure what the answer is!
Unless we go 4-3-3 and have him and Johnson either side of hemmings up top.
We keep saying we've got plenty of quality and it'll come good but I left yesterday with no idea what the plan is. We didn't look dangerous atall and had absolutely no fluency.
Also the performance from Raglan is one of the worst I've ever seen. Ok he was out of position but ffs he was making basic mistakes time and time again.
Feeling deflated after yesterday - lunny has to come back in next week. And what makes it all the more painful is the scum looked quality against Charlton!

Our player trading in the summer may have brought in good cash but it has not replaced those that left with anything like the same leadership or talent. I said at the start that I feared we would be in a relegation battle and that is looking increasingly likely. What has gone wrong with our scouting? It was SO good two years ago. This year? Utter rubbish. The most obvious reason is that we lost Ashton. Not sure who else is behind the scenes and whether they are still the same people?

Agree most disappointed with Ledson and Raglan who regularly lost the ball and did not distribute well at all. Players very isolated and not supporting runs and lack of understanding..it was often as if this team had never played together before (well they hadn't!) Yes midfield was v.poor and Hemmings rarely got away from his marker.
