'Total shit'? Same old, same old indeed - we are a 45 minute side (doesn't matter whether it's first or second it's not acceptable!). I have just heard MAPP say on RO .. "that's football" - nonsense Michael, that's a squad who are just not good enough over 90 minutes. The man who got us £3.6M scored today - we have not replaced him or the two other goalscorers who left & until we do this season is going to be frustrating!!

We played some awesome football at times today. Really should have won. Really encouraging performance though.

Really? 2 goals and a point away from home against a higher team? Disappointing, yes, but total shit?? We let in 2 when we were cruising. We don't have a striker well none that can score

I would have settled for a point before a ball was kicked but after being 2 up I'm a bit disappointed. I didn't go today so can't comment on the performance but went on Tuesday and today sounded much better.

We were an average l1 side according to vales forum. A more clinical team would have been 5 up at half time.

Ok , if raglan plays we don't throw away two goals . Sorry App but you got that drastically wrong . Half a bad game against cov . No that's wrong he should have not been dropped . Moved to right back ? But I still love him .

Can't see too much to concern, we're looking more and more likely to finish mid-table this season, and many I'd guess would be reasonably happy with that. Up one week down the next, and sometimes, like today, somewhere in-between, I can't see that sequence changing much, so we'll just have to live with it take a deep breath and recall that not too long ago we were non-league. Gradual improvement and a steady climb up to the next level while getting stronger as a team and Club is the way forward.

A week ago, with a home fixture against Bradford then away fixtures at Coventry and Vale to get through we had a seriously rough set of fixtures on paper
To emerge with a solid victory against the previously unbeaten Bradford and a decent point on the road today isn't the worst return.
The Coventry performance was poor, we can all see that. But we were much better today - MUCH. Is it disappointing that we had ten minute meltdown and chucked three points away? Absolutely - but some of the depressive over reactions on here are insane. We were going to Stafford Rangers, Histon, Lewes and Barrow not that long ago!
The team is clearly a work in progress - and we are still completely dysfunctional up front...but these are proper, tough matches against serious, formidable teams. And we are holding our own despite constant injuries and a major overhaul of the promotion squad.
I don't expect us to challenge for promotion - but then again I didn't in August either. The fact that we are a threatening, dangerous team on occasion, solidifying our status in midtable, with the promise of improvements to come once Nelson, Hall and Ribeiro reach full fitness and Hemmings/Johnson find some form is pretty encouraging from where I stand
And besides, if we can keep in touch with the top half of the table until the new year, who's to say what could happen once everyone is fit and we find some consistency...

Just got back.
In my view we were outstanding in the first half. 2 up and maybe should have been 3 or 4. We totally bossed the game. I would say that it was the best that we have played this season along maybe with the second half at Bolton?
In the second we had a couple of chances to go 3 up. Maguire played a fantastic ball to Crowley whose first tough let him down or he would have had a one on one against the keeper.
Their first was poor defending. Their free kick was over hit and their player at the back managed to head it back. The goalscorer had plenty of space. The the penalty (how many penalties have we conceded in the past 8 games?
After that either side could have won.
A really good game for any neutral.
For us Crowley was very good until the last 15 when he tired. Rothwell was good again. Lundstrom looked better. Maguire class as usual. The frustrating thing is that we had the chances to win 2 games ....

3 Hours 10 mins back to the south coast, not too bad, unlike our second half performance. To sum up, we should have been 4 up by half time, but we passed the ball far to much outside the box, either because no one wanted to shoot, or there was no confidence to shoot. Crowley and Roberts had efforts that should have been put away, especially Crowley. He drifted out of the game late on as if not interested. Fans fantastic as usual. We need a genuine striker, a goal scorer who will hassle defences. The number of chances converted from the start of the season if we had such a player, would see us higher in the table by far. I'm really coming around to the opinion of those that say Hylton should have been offered a two year deal. He would score goals in this division, as so many defences I've seen, both home and away, would not be used to such a player, harrying defences.

Can anyone tell me why on earth we had Hemmings and Taylor fit on the bench and we were trying to win the game with tired minds and bodies??? MAPP appears to be making poor decisions at the moment.

Had a look at the Sky highlights a few times and cannot see how that was a penalty. The Vale player just seemed to fall down like a sack of spuds without much contact at all from Nelson.

I haven't seen any highlights, and we were of course at the other end of the ground, but it looked like an obvious push to me (and those around me).
Over all, I thought it was an encouraging performance (especially after Tuesday). Nelson was decent, Crowley combined well with Maguire, Johnson showed more than enough to suggest he is a decent footballer, Lunny was better and I thought Sercombe showed why we are a better team with him in it.
We faded badly in the second half and gave away far too many free kicks around our box though.
A win against Millwall would make it a decent month's work IMO.

Its beyond a joke now seems like everytime somebody goes down in the box they get a pen, but if a Oxford player is been fouled in the box the ref doesn't want to hear about it.

Why did Raglan not start today? Yeah Nelson was ok, but Raglan has been the reason behind our solid defence. Shouldn't have been that easy to drop him and even though he isn't our player and Dunks did score today, Dunks would have been the one i'd have replaced for Nelson if at all. But cracking first half. Crowley, Johnson, Maguire all class. Second half, heads dropped and conceded two sloppy goals. Such is life, will take a point just not the way it happened.

Must admit, I could see Vale getting the winner from their succession of corners and free kicks towards the end. It really was a bizarre tale of two halves. Our fans were brilliant, again, and seemed like more than 606 there, but let's not start any conspiracy theories.

I thought the Vale support was crap tbh. The only noise they made was after they scored when they sang Crystal Palaces song, "Glad All Over". Embarrassing for them. Thought our support was different class again👍

It looks a very soft penalty on the highlights. We are certainly not getting the breaks on penalties at the moment.

Funny, looked to me like Nelson just threw the attacker out of the way, the way his arm follows the bloke.

Seems like we are letting down the fantastic form of the other newly promoted sides. A boring and at times frustrating season looms large now. Get real, chum. Forget about what others are doing, and look at a club that has not been mid-table in the third tier for 20 years. A club that has known humiliation, near extinction (many on here will never know how near we were to that), and two decades of watching desperately bad football unbecoming of our entire history. And imagine those youngsters unlucky enough to grow up thinking that losing away to Droylsdon was the norm! For a club that could and should have played in Europe... We are now back where we belong, in the top three tiers of the game, playing against clubs with equal histories or in some cases better. And we are holding our own. I remember, just three or four years ago, going to Vale Park and watching us getting thumped 3-0. Could have been 6-0. And you think that what we are seeing now is 'boring and frustrating'!!! Given the changes forced on MAPP in the summer - with two of his three best players exiting just when he needed them - to be mid-table is a really decent achievement. The football is enjoyable, our fans are really showing what the club is made of (home and away) and we are in a proper competition, where every week the other side both try to win and have the resources to do so. For me, there would be nothing 'boring' about this season if we bumble along in mid-table. I guess the only frustration will be that there don't look to be many teams a heap better than us, so inevitably we'd be wondering 'What if?'......

Funny, looked to me like Nelson just threw the attacker out of the way, the way his arm follows the bloke. What? Their player has fallen the opposite way to the way Neldon's arm has moved. Their player looked for it and the ref has fallen for it.
