Ben Purkiss 'joint captain' at Port Vale these days apparently. Plus part-time translator. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37608339I didn't miss him at all when he left us, naively hoping that Damien Batt was going to step up as the league 2 Roberto Carlos. But Purkiss has played consistently at a higher level almost all of the time since leaving us, there must have been something that we/Wilder didn't see at the time. Fair play to BK - not many Oxford leavers recently who have achieved so much.

When the "FFFFFFF" will these people realise that the game is over-priced? You can only milk folk for so long. Big ground like Vale Park could easily do £5 for adults and £1 for kids but they would rather look at empty seats and try & blame somebody/something else. Alternative view...... they`ve teamed up with the "CW Missing Two Thousand" and are going to start a club called "Oxford Vale" and guide it to the Champions league in 15 years.

Will I be able to buy a half and half scarf for Oxford bale?

I was still furious on Wednesday morning - "If they bloody think I'm going to waste more time and money by going to bloody horrible Burslem, they've got another bloody think bloody coming." By this morning I was checking to see where the parking was. It's a disease.

I wont speculate about the score for this one until I see which United side turns up. The Bradford one or the Coventry one.

I'll be there - only previous visit was a grey and depressing 3-0 loss. Though the ale at the Bull's Head made up for it just a little bit.
Having checked the stats, seems that losing 3-0 is a bit of a specialist result for us there, not been the scene of all that much joy for us.

Appleton has to win this one after some poor results against strugglers Wimbledon and Coventry. If we don't win, Eales should start thinking about a manager that can take us to the Championship. Of course, give Appleton until the end of the season to turn things around. He has earned the right, considering he got us promoted, but perhaps at the end of the season we should be looking for a manager that has promotion in his DNA (e.g, Darrell Clark).
I hope Appleton proves me and Eales wrong.

I hope Appleton proves me and Eales wrong. "Strugglers" Wimbledon are 9th in the table, 4th in the "away" table and 3rd in the form table with 11points from their last 5 matches! We have also beaten top five teams Bradford, Bolton and Rochdale this season. Add to that a fine win against the shite from down the road and I don't think MApp should go anywhere.
