Great we got the best side of dubious referee ..karma..Maguire is brilliant in this league but just wary he is carrying the team as it were..I'm not at the game so can't tell hope not:-) Hes not carrying the team. Defence were completely rock solid today, Eastwood great as usual and midfield did well in the second half

Still got a feeling Maguire aint going to stay...come Jan and he'll be gone....seems to be a little downbeat in his chats...missing his kids back home I reckon I didn't think that was down beat. There's a job to do through the whole season. I wasn't expecting him to react as though we'd won the league. He talked very sensibly. If he was downbeat I think we'd see evidence of this on the pitch. He chose to sign for this season when he had other offers and could obviously have found a club in Scotland or much further up North.

Their no.11, Jordy Hiwula I think, was fantastic for us today. Those 2 misses were superb, albeit the 1st looked miles offside although the Linesman wasn't even looking or up with play at that point.

I thought their penalty was way offside when it was given, the Lino was useless ss side, missed several offside decisions, couple of fouls, especially on Maguire and even the ball crossing the line right under his nose

Ha! "Weren't clinical enough" = hoof it into the carpark at every oppertunity! Well done lads, makes up for Sunday. In the last 20 ninutes I'd have settled for 0-0 and honours even, but what's got me grinning like a loon even now was not just scoring but how easy MacGuire made the free kick look. I suspect that Bradfords back four might be getting a bit of a talking to. Happy daze.

I thought their pen was a blatant dive which should have got a booking. Hitting the cross bar shows that karma (sometimes) does work.

Poor highlights, the penalty miss and the goal and that's it.

Was thinking today we looked Definitely better in midfield, and thought ruffles added a bit more threat getting forward than skarz does. Made me wonder if maybe sercs could come into the team at rb. Can't see him displacing rothwell, but has played a lot of games at rb for Exeter I think, and certainly likes to get forward. Possibility maybe

Just noticed the role hemmings had during the free kick maguire scored from he stood in the keepers eye line Counts as an assist in my book! When I first saw it o wondered why the keeper didn't dive - he didn't see it thank to Hemmings

This angle shows him deliberately placing himself there - clever stuff! Take a look at swissyellow's Tweet:

Take a look at swissyellow 's Tweet: Wondered what he was doing, guess you could call that a Hemmings assist, i was just worried they were going too try and get Hemmings too do one of his horrendous overhead kicks like last week.

Having seen the highlights on the FLS, I can see why the Ref didn't give it at the end. Their player made a right meal of it and it will have looked a dive from lower down. The way he fell didn't look natural, like when he seemed to get the hump with our strikers and fall over randomly to have a moan at the Ref.
Hemmings was just in the keepers eye line, but if you watch it, the keeper assumed the ball was going in the other corner and took steps to his right. If he'd stayed still, easy save. One he will want to have back.
I don't understand how people thought Eastwood saved the pen. It was high wide and handsome all on its own.

I've just woken up for the game (Australia) in sudden severe kidney pain which I've never had before. Debating going to hospital in a hurry, but I'd rather hear the game first. Can anyone at the game tell me if our performance today is promising enough to risk renal failure for, or should I just cut my losses and go now? Current level of pain is York City (h) 0-3 1996, but not quite Wycombe (h) 1-4 1997. Take no risks. Its going to be a 0-0 draw and there are a lot more matches this season. Don't take the risk. Dr. Malcolm Thanks for your concern! Rest assured, Dr Maguire has done a feckload more to quell my suffering than the (so far) 60mg of Morphine that hasn't touched the sides...

Missed the first 25 minutes due to the blocked m25 but cheered up by another fine tactical approach from Appleton et al. Bantams clearly not expecting the ginger Puskas to turn up on the left wing and there was some good movement up front in last 20 minutes , think we shaded it in all honesty.
Sercombe will find it difficult to get a starting place after that. Dunkley had another massive game; he's worth a few quid now.
Great support again, even the SSU is getting stuck in these days...
COYY..

His top makes him look like Rickety Cricket. Looking forward to witnessing his incredible decline over the next ten seasons.

Would take a draw coventry will be a hard game away and I think our focus should be to get the three points there rather then today as long as we take a point we can build on that I guess you'll be happy with a point at Coventry now? no I would be disappointed if we didn't get the three points.

Their keepers position on the free-kick was shocking. Almost positioned himself behind his own wall. Stock still as it drifted in to the corner. Ha ha!

Highlights why the old off-side rules were better. By which I mean that blocking the 'keepers view is clearly interfering with play!

Afternoon all.
Well done on the win, think a draw would have probably been the fair result overall as we shaded the 1st half and you the 2nd - but you took your chance and we didn't take ours. We had to lose at some point!
Disappointed with our keeper Doyle for your goal as it was one he could have dropped on had he remained to the left of the goal where he stood initially, it was a decent enough effort from Maguire but really shouldn't have resulted in a goal. I think what a couple of you have said is right with Hemmings blocking his view, but still a bad one to concede.
Pen looked very soft and Dieng went down easily. Don't know if that was in the ref's mind at the end with the one he didn't award, following the complaints about the one he did give.
A few of you have said it and it's no secret - we have issues up front. We can't find a combination that works (yet) and whilst we're creating chances we're being very wasteful - just like with Hiwula yesterday. A number of the draws we've had really should have been wins.
Meredith getting injured was a big blow as an attacking outlet as well, he's one of our best players. That was Kilgallon's league debut and whilst he's played his career at a higher level, he's not the same type of player as Meredith.
Maguire seems a class apart for you. We didn't really test Eastwood enough, though from your comments it seems he has improved a lot since he was with us, when he was absolutely abysmal!
Was interesting to read pre-game comments from a couple of you re us being a rough team - that was driven by our previous manager. I always thought that reputation was oversold a bit but lots of opposition fans seemed to say it! We've completely changed under McCall as you might have seen yesterday.
Good luck for the rest of the season. Maintain the levels you did yesterday and you should do pretty well. Sounds like you need to work out how to beat the more 'robust' teams though?

Great all round performance yeterday against a very good side but I think our second half display fully justified the three points and what a time to score! Can't wait for Tuesday exciting times to be a u's fan!

Very fair assessment. To be honest, we suffer from the same problem you do regarding who to play upfront and what formation works best. Couldn't agree more about Maguire. He was our player of the month for September and I'm expecting that to be the case every month unless someone else steps up to the mark.
