What was the email that was partially sent by OxVox yesterday regarding the stadium all about? Did anyone else receive it? Hi. We did send an email out yesterday evening with a brief update about the stadium. Your post suggests that yours was incomplete in some way? Please let us know if that is the case?! Cheers Jem Hi Jem, it just said something about a statement, but there wasn't a statement.

I've had lots of comments from people who have received the email, so maybe it's just an issue with a few?! Sorry! We'll get back to you. (Could you DM me your email address and we'll try and resend?) Cheers Jem

I hope those who have not yet joined OxVox do so, using an old union adage - Unity is strength! And by signing up you would not only be increasing the membership numbers - you'd give those working tirelessly for OxVox on our behalf a boost i'm sure.

I'm afraid it was very short on real information and told members nothing. It's time to let us know what is actually happening, we have the right to know its our club after all. We also need to know how if this move is successful how it's going to effect the future of the club and the owner and how funding will be provided in the short, medium and long term.

You have no right at all to know the detail of private talks between OxVox and Mr Kassam. I have absolute confidence that everything will become public once matters are finalised, one way or another. Just out of interest, are you a member of OxVox?

Although this work is good, there are still some very important questions that will need answering in the future. You are belittling a fellow Yellow's Fan for personal point scoring and being concerned about the Club's Future Welfare. Good work, good work!

Although this work is good, there are still some very important questions that will need answering in the future. You are belittling a fellow Yellow's Fan for personal point scoring and being concerned about the Club's Future Welfare. Good work, good work! I think it does matter. Too many people expect OxVox to work for them and expect OxVox to report on negotiations too early in the process even though they can't be arsed to join themselves, or recoil at paying the pittance it costs to be a member. OxVox is stronger the bigger it gets. 770 members so far, but they need more. I'm not belittling anybody, I'm wondering how they feel so entitled to full disclosure even though it may impede talks. As for your opinion that my response is 'pathetic' and typical of 'old school OxVox attitudes' - what are you talking about? There was a miserable band of nay sayers who had it in for Mark Sennett. I believe you and poster 'old' where amongst them. Well, Mr Sennett has gone. I'm fully affiliated to the new regime. You know, the one that's doing sterling work for us all despite the moans of 'alfonso' and others. So, who's living in the Dark Ages? PS If you're going to throw insults around, have the balls to do it under your real name. I post under my real name. I'm fairly easy to find, and it makes me think about what I post. Try it.

So by your logic only 770 people will be welcome at the ground? Yes, I was vocal about the old committee and it's been justified by how well the new committee are doing compared to the old mob.

Not what I'm saying at all. OxVox membership / non-membership is irrelevant to match attendance. It's quite simple: if you're not a member of OxVox that's fine, but in my opinion you lose the right to criticise their work. Be part of it and, if you're not happy, lobby for change from within. How many people don't vote at general elections then subsequently moan about the 'bloody government'? They're the pathetic ones, to my mind. As to your last sentence, we can agree on that at least.

It's £10 for 3 years they are doing great work in the community as well as for the football club. Join up go to the meetings have a say. All the questions are valid ones, I don't think there is a fan amongst us that can't wait to hear the answers(joining up will mean u will hear first)but patience is needed, it's not going to be easy or straight forward , but have faith that these are genuine Oufc fans working for the best of Oufc.

Yep, you were vocal about the "old" committee and other than a couple of departures from that time, the remainder of the committee remain in post to this current day. By the term old committee, what you actually mean, is Mark, Myself, Matt and a few others. Jem has been on the committee nearly three years. I'm still here. I also remember the absolute diatribe about the Community Right to Bid and the pathetic attempt of another forum which descended into personal attacks. Well, the committee were 100% right in getting that CRTB through, in a professional and confidential matter, which in turn, has brought us to today where we're taken extremely seriously by the landlord and has seen huge strikes in dialogue and are now in a position where we can make the final step. About time some praise was given both past and present. About time some of those contributors who have everything to say and demand everything but refuse to sign up as members, also have a look at what they can do. The Trust is only as good as it's membership.

Get over yourself - I've been positive about this subject. Like many fans I've a few concerns/questions that's all. As a member I'm entitled to take a step back and ask some questions about this.
The only people I was critical of where people who are no longer involved. The trust was dying a death bit has been pulled round to an effective organisation.

So, having chastised me for making a distinction between members of OxVox and non-members, you are now wearing your own membership as a badge of honour. So membership DOES matter now? PS I'm not trying to be a prick about this. I'm glad you're a member, and I think you're entitled to the benefits that membership brings.

You've been vocal, that's fine, if you know me, which you don't, then you would know I've always wanted members to hold the Trust/Club to account. What I don't quite agree with, is people who want to do that but aren't members and have no intention of being members. Represent the fanbase, yes but first represent members and discuss with them. Likewise, as I'm quite aware of who you are, you of all people, would know why some questions can't be answered at this time. The Trust has once again, in my view, behaved and acted in a responsible and exceptional professional manner. You keep asking about DE view and if we've kept him out of the loop, we haven't. He was quite aware of our intentions and was supportive. Both he and GBT have said as much in the press. You've been a member for a short time and we really appreciate it. We could have done with people like yourself earlier but I look forward to meeting you at a future members meeting.

Si
Your statement "You keep asking about DE view and if we've kept him out of the loop, we haven't. He was quite aware of our intentions and was supportive. Both he and GBT have said as much in the press" is quite telling. What is concerning it the fact that DE has made public that he has made three offers to Kassam to buy the stadium of which two have been turned down and the third is still awaiting a response. Those of us that have been involved in buying and selling property know that it's much better to be the only one with an offer on the table rather than being in a bidding war.
With this in mind, why in your opinion has DE not withdrawn his offer and thrown his full support behind the Oxvox initiative? My concern would be that Kassam will use the current situation to improve his selling price. I am fully aware of the complicated issues involved especially with Kassam involved, but would have thought 100% effort should be put behind just one bid! thus giving some control to the buyers rather than the seller.

Hi OLD. You know you can call me Simon ;-)
There is no bidding war. Kassam has said he will only sell to a Community Trust/Group. There were three offers and we were/are aware of them. As far as we can establish we have dialogue with the landlord and are on the same page with him.
I'll get laughed out of town here but maybe it's not about price anymore despite plenty of people, understandably, thinking very different.

Also not unrealistic to assume that with current relations between fk and de/gbt at a low, de not throwing his weight behind something might not be a bad thing at the min. If he agrees with oxvox are doing and is happy they are acting in the best interests of the club, then I'm sure he will be involved at the suitable time.

However it was only a few years ago that Kassam went on record as saying he would only sell the stadium and club as one and not the club as a standalone. Having looked at past statements from Kassam I will reserve judgment on his real motivation in this latest venture. One thing is clear in my mind his continuous reference to him being the "custodian" of the club is very stomach churning.

I'd be interested to know who the "old mob" that you are referring to. Most of the "Old Mob" are still involved with a few new faces and some the "Old Mob" carried Oxvox through the dark days of the Conference when very few were interested. The one notable exception (not me) put a great deal of time and effort into the organisation and seems to be on a hiding to nothing.

No doubt that may happen here. Kassam did say he'd sell club and ground together and as one. It was Nick Merry who broke up that and pushed for a club only sale thinking he and others could sort out the ground at a later date. I blame no one else other than Merry and other people who were duped into 'funding' a stadium purchase. Let's see how this goes but at the moment, I remain convinced that we can reach a solution.

There's no way Kassam will turn down extra money for nothing Simon. It's as clear as the sun that rises in the east every morning that he'll gain something to sell the stadium at a cheaper rate with that something being where he makes MORE money than the money he's lost in selling the stadium cheaper. Simon please don't tell me that Kassam has suddenly become some kind of a saint!

I thought that the club were paying firoka from the start? and assumed it was Firoz s way of us repaying his outlay on the ground which was fair enough as he was chairman at the time. Something which De or oxvox would surely have to do if he we brought the ground.
Kassam also ran us as a break even buisness as i recall which gets you lower Lg2 relegation football
