So here we go ladies and gents, the football season is back yesssssss. Last season I kicked off the match day threads and we drew with Crawley. I'm hoping this time we will start better. It's a great feeling being back in league one, and it seems so so long since we were here last. It's going to be tough, because I think that there is more of a difference between Lge 1 and 2 than from Lge 2 to conference. Getting off to a nice start will boost confidence, and hopefully allow us to kick on throughout the season.
Prediction OUFC 2-1 Chesterfield Att: 9250

Seems like a long time, coz it is!! expect the opening 20 mins or so to be a bit cagey while we feel our way into the match, and with the new recruits also needing to 'bed in' we the fans need to be patient and supportive. looking forward to this season and i have high hopes that we can continue our rise up the FL.
Prediction - U's 3 spirerites 1. att: 8458.

2-1 Oxford, would not be overly concerned if we drew though.

This is a six-pointer in my view. If Appleton is to be trusted for the rest of the season we must win this one convincingly, by at least a couple of clear goals.
Of course Chesterfield are to be respected - they are a team of honest lads and, being a small, unfashionable side, this is their cup-final so they will be bang up for it.
I expect to see a new manager ion Tuesday in the event of failure otherwise we will spend the season staring into the abyss of relegation.

Have a feeling we will grind out a 1-0 win with Kane Hemmings. I was talking to someone last night who supports Dundee and follows Scottish football. He says we have unearthed a gem who is excellent in the box. Would be great to get his fellow compratiot but looks like he is Birmingham bound

I think this one's got draw written all over it. 1-1 or 2-2

Think we will win, 2-1 i can see a cagey 30 minutes a bit like Barnet where Chesterfield will have control and go ahead in the game. I can see us coming out second half and playing like we did last season. I think Thomas and Hemmings will both be crucial in this game and both of them playing a key part in the game.

I do have a bet on a 25/1 for Chesterfield to be in the lead come half time, and Oxford to win overall. £5 returns a nice £130.

I'm always slightly disappointed after the first game of the season I watch so I'll go for a 0-0
If the team clicks and they all play as well as they can, 4-1 to Oxford.

Just as an aside and before we jump off a cliff with one or two dodgy results: after 7 league games last season, not one team in the top 7 gained promotion. Oxford were 8th, Northampton 11th and Bristol Rovers 15th. Lets be patient and get behind the team through thick and thin.

This post on their messageboard made me chuckle........ "This is a six-pointer in my view. This this bloke must have been drinking..... Oxford our cup final!! Ha Ha....... They were in the conference not that long ago and i expect them to be back in league 2 next season. We should win this one even though they just been promoted and i would expect Oxford 1 CFC 2 Did make me chuckle!

A lot of people not having a lot of faith in our defence or having a lot of faith in their attack. In any case I'm going 2-0 to us. Hemmings and Thomas to score.

Won't make a prediction but just to say 1st time in L1 for 15years so a positive start will suffice and any where between 9,000 and 10,000 will do nicely
