Seeing DE and others at the club using the term Grenoble road instead of the name of the ground, what are your thoughts on this?
Personally I refuse to use the current name of the ground and never will use it till it's changed, until that change (if it ever does happen) I think calling it Grenoble road is a good idea.
I know it's only a name etc, but it's part of our identity and it makes me sick that we have a ground with that name!

Grenoble Road works for me. Would like to see a name change and have a fan vote for the name, I'd choose Stadium McStadiumFace.

I don't see the problem with calling it The Kassam Stadium. Don't get me wrong I wish we owned it and it was called something else, but it's only a name so it doesn't bother me to say it

Like the name or the person who built it or not it's unfortunate the name of or ground. Using Grenoble Road is just cringeworthy. Unless we but the ground outright from Mr Kassam it's never going to be called anything else. The club, the fans and anyone involved need to accept that. It's a name and that's all it is. I'd rather refer to it as The Kassam Stadium rather than Grenoble Road. Let's start calling the cinema Grenoble Road or the Hilton Grenoble Road while we're at it.

Grenoble Road is mentioned in the season ticket letters. Personally think it's a good thing. Officially it'll always be called the Kassam Stadium. Nothing forcing the club to call it that though.

I think it's cringeworthy to call it by the name of the former owner who dumped us when he got what he wanted and has been screwing the club ever since!
Officially that's the grounds name and unless we own it that will not be changed but my point was what you call it and if people want to use that name then it's down to them I guess!
Just saying I personally would never use it as I think the grounds name is a stain on our identity..
Just find it interesting that Grenoble road is being used and happy with that for the time being!

I just call it the Kassam because that's the legal name of the stadium. Between October and March it becomes 'The Wind Tunnel'.

called it the grenoble road stadium from day one, can't even write that word 'k****m down in full as i feel queasy. And if i did i'd not use an appropriate capital 'k' as the bloke doesn't warrant it. now that mr Eales appears to think along the same lines might be a small sign that any negotiations over the stadium have ground to a halt, deffo gone very quiet. as for a new name once the stadium is 'ours' - this is one of those topics that regularly pop up, best to wait until, or if, that day ever arrives.

Why do we have to call it anything? I don't use the current name myself but that's not cos of any feelings towards a previous owner...

Chris Williams thinks we haven't noticed that he refers to it as the KaZZam Stadium.
The matchday programme also refers to the ground as Grenoble Rd and has done for several years.
A few years back if you looked at the K****m Stadium website you would be hard pushed to find the words Oxford United !

Interesting that Eales seems to have stopped using the Kassam name, season ticket letter shows that when he did it in that interview it was on purpose. I would guess that he has had enough of Firoz and his ways and is getting some small revenge. Unsure what that means for the future but I doubt anyone will ever be able to deal with the man, seems to go out of his way to be difficult.

I would say that if that is true, the club will not be in a very good position in so far as buying the ground. That would be pretty worrying if true ....

The club hasn't been in a good position since Kassam got control of the stadium though, he owned the club and stadium and still shafted the club.

IL's huge mistake was buying the club without the ground. For years the owners/ MDs have been suggesting that the Ground is a priority and necessary for the club to grow revenues. Let's hope that Mr Eales is more successful in that than his predecessors.

eales is great owner and chairman of the club but he will eventually get fed up with Kassam and his pissing around , and if he does leave then that will be the reason why!
Hopefully he will stick it out but you can put your money on the fact those too have virtually already fallen out

I welcome the change, why refer to someone who has without any doubt, profited from the use of OUFC for his own means? Without OUFC he would never have overturned the covenant on alcohol sales anywhere other than from the Priory and he would never have had the opportunity to sell the Manor for huge profit with nothing going to the club. His positive involvement with the club ended as soon as he had all his other businesses in place and yet he still retains a strangle hold over the clubs ability to function at Grenoble road.
The reports of what the club were paying for tea/coffee alone are testament to the contempt in which he holds OUFC. Everything about his involvement stinks. He wants a ridiculous sum of money to buy the ground and yet would bulldoze the lot within days were we to move elsewhere. (And turn another huge profit building houses in its place)

But why did no one else come up with a proper plan and the money to move us away from the Manor when it became clear we wouldn't be able to carry on there.
