Not bad considering we were chasing the Premier League champions around on the hottest day of the year!

Decent enough performance against the best team in the land last year.
Bodes well for the season ahead, if we can add a couple more forwards......

Eastwood, Skarz, Dunks, Lunny and Taylor all looking pretty good.
Still work to be done but not bad. We'll have a yard of extra room in L1 which will make a big difference.

Decent game that. Definitely some promising signs, link up play was pretty good - there are already signs that Taylor and Thomas could form an effective partnership up front. Defensively, we look pretty solid, was impressed with Martin when he came on. Giles also looks like he has something about him, don't think he'll be first choice this season but looks like we'll be seeing him a lot more this season. The bulk of the squad is there, all we need is a couple of attacking additions and I think we're set.

Good work out and I felt we did well.
Yes we need some threat up front and I have no doubt the manager knows this, but otherwise our lads performed well!

Well all in all... Really good first half. Leicester just showed there class in second half and we never had a sniff. Eastwood was good (couldn't do nothing about the goals).. Taylor won everything was very good. Defending in general wasn't too bad. Not sure about Rothwell he lost the ball loads. Crowley looked tricky in first half and the stuff he was trying may just work in league 1 but Leicester stopped him well. Thomas not so great for me missed a sitter also.
Good workout for the boys. Made a few quid with Leicester giving us there share of the gate. Happy days all round

Very impressed, stood firm during the second half, with a strong figure in goal. Neither up front took the chances they were presented with, even though they played well, showing that out and out striker is desperately needed. This along with a COD replacement, along with a couple of season long loans from Arsenal, there is no reason we cant push for promotion next season.
The Brighton game will be a really good test.

Positives:
Good money spinner for the club Eastwood is very calm and his kicking is brilliant Lundstram showed once more that he's a class above Taylor did very well against Huth and Morgan. Maguire finally avoided the post Ashby showed more in his camio than two games in Spain
Negatives:
Crowley gives the ball away too easily. Looks weak Nelson looked in a lot of pain/discomfort We're missing a winger and a striker
All in all an entertaining evening, but I miss proper football!

Can't made wild assertions about a pre-season friendly against the PL champions but you could see certain patterns in our play.
I enjoyed Ribiero's play (and his look of a young Chris Hatgreaves - although thankfully a much better player!) and the positive contribution from Taylor. My main concern with him is that he'll never score many for us and without Thomas scoring (he was off the pace today) I would worry where the goals would come from.
I thought Jonny Giles showed a lot of promise. Hopefully we'll see him get some minutes this season.
Benji > Eastwood for me still. Eastwood didn't do a lot wrong but as another poster put it, he's a lot more 'passive' than Benji.

There will be something about the 4th stand on Rad Ox this week. Nothing confirmed either way.
From the Twitter feed, it was a decent performance tonight. Not perfect, but good for all the right reasons.

And his kicking with both feet is superb. He will be number one this season.

These top teams show amazing willingness and desire to win the ball back. When an Oxford player was about to get on the ball a "blue blanket was thrown over him"
Top teams hunt in packs and the fitness levels are staggering. They don't get knocked off the ball - Leicester are big, fit and have strength in abundance. Can see why they won the Premier League.
Tonight was a good night all round but much work needs to be done. Oxford are in need of 2-3 players for starters.

Amazed by the size of the crowd. I never go to preseason friendlies, it simply isn't proper football. But fair play to those of you who did.

passing needs brushing up we gave the ball away far too often..the defence was shaky at times but i guess the more they work together the better.
not a bad workout and credit to leicester for making the effort...no real need to state the obvious as everyone can see what's missing.

Hard to judge much playing them, they have quality we won't come anywhere near in league one.

The one slight concern I saw tonight was Dunkley looks a weak link, his general play was haphazard and his passing was all over the place, I can see Martin and Nelson being the central pairing if Chey doesn't up his game.

Nelson looked a very decent centre half, you can tell why a lot of clubs were chasing him, any idea what Plymouth wanted for him and what he could cost us in the tribunal?

Leicester were a class above us. Won everything in the middle and sprayed it around nicely. Our midfield often chose the wrong option running into trouble especially the arsenal lad. He Looked too weak imo. We defended quite well I thought but didn't have much options going forward apart from the long ball to Taylor but that was probably due to Leicesters quality in giving us no time in the middle. Eastwood got mom and rightly so pulled off some great saves and kicking is very good. Wasn't impressed with Wes. He looked a yard too slow but as someone else said chasing the prem winners in those conditions must have been tough.

Eastwood did well. His decision making was very good, kicked and threw well and saved everything he should've, a good first impression.
Dunkley was big and strong, he attacks the ball well. Also impressed with Martin's defensive game.
Need more numbers up top, but Taylor and Thomas did well considering. Felt a bit for them in the second half as they'd done a lot of running against 4 premier league centre backs who had only played about 45 minutes each in that weather. Definitely need another striker though.
Maguire looked good. Lundstram oozes class and had a few spells where he was running the show.
Crowley and Rothwell I'm sure will be good players.
Decent turn out and an enjoyable evening. I'd forgotten how well we played during parts of last season and although Leicester were worthy winners, we did have a few phases where we matched them.

Cb's did fine. Personally felt the biggest weak link by a country mile was Crowley. Poor touch, weak and constantly caught ball watching as their fullback doubled up behind him. Need more experience and strength on the flank. overall very pleasing performance, great pre season friendly, nearly 10k crowd. Great at night at the Kassam
